Will using the tow haul switch to down shift the trans while loaded cause any problems?Thanks

It has been blistering hot for three years in a row. We have lost oak trees that were 2-3 hundred years old I mean huge trees, dead. We just got about 1/4 inch today, first rain in 5 weeks or more. The grass crunches under your feet like snow.

The tow haul switch will actually hold it in each gear a little longer than if it where just normal.

Yea I just take it out of tow then put it right back in and she down shifts right then (quick) and smooth

I have pulled about 6 heavy loads with my auto since I got it and I stared using the OD switch to make it down shift, all I do is take it out of TOW then put it back in tow and it will down shift nice and smooth instead of me pushing pedal and making it down shift hard and blowing smoke everywhere. Has anybody else tryed this and am I hurting the trans?I dont see where it would be a bad thing due to it down shifts nice a smooth.

How much are these rotors, I am thinking sence I have 270k That I should just go ahead and get some rebuilt ones.

I have pulled the same stretch of hwy with a lot more weight than that. You got something wrong, radiator or something. My truck weigh's 11k and my trailer empty is 8k and I pulled the hills in Lampasses and my eng temp. never broke 210, egt's will get high but you just got to back out of it and they will go back down no problem.You need to unplug the edge and see if your timing or something is causing the problem. If you never cleaned the rad. I would bet that's it.

My old motor would set a idle all day and sound just fine, drive it 300 yards down the road and it would start a slite miss. It had to do with heat as soon as the Egt's went up that would open up a crack in block,pistons or rings. New head did nothing.I do have a well stocked parts supply though.

Ok, your not going to belive this. So I changed the filters, added two stroke (Forgot to add at fuel up) reset apps and running just fine. I still think there is a under lying problem that is not showing up.Egts back to normal, boost normal.

I have not made time to work on it today but got to thinking AC and maybe another bearing like the fan, might be something to look into.I just hate like h--- to think my 14 month old Blue Chip vp might not like me anymore.

I agree, check this out today I was taking it to my shop, when I turn on AC and let out on clutch eng dies. Like I said it has a lugging affect. The turbo has about 80k on a rebuild and it checks out ok best I know what to check for. No end play to speak of I mean it has some play but not rubbing houseing, spins real free, spin with your finger and it spins for a little bit. Checked all boost boots, they were replaced about two maybe three years ago, there all on nice and tight.No controller on it anymore just about stock.

I see you included APPS reset, you think it may help before I test the whole nine yarsd? I am thinking I will just swap out the apps and see if that works.
