  1. Well men, I found me a 53 motor 85k on the clock and $750.00:hyper: But the block is cracked so I will let you know how that goes.Stay tuned it"s going to be a good one I'am sure.
  2. I think I have one on my old filter housing, your welcome to it. I wouldnt open it though, you might end up with the same problem. It hasnt had diesel in it in 2-3 years.
  3. Is your eng a SO or HO? Also the $4200 was that the cost of a reman? The block # you gave where do those numbers come from?
  4. My truck has had a long drawn out problem that has taken almost two years to get to the root of the problem. It will take to much time to tell the story, let me just say I have changed everything on the exterior of the eng. 3 times and I mean everything, you name it I changed it 3 times, the head is totaly rebuilt off another truck and wiring harness and the miss is still there. It only starts missing when the eng. temp. starts warming up or ambient temp is around 95 plus. I and others belive it has to be a cracked piston or something related. So if I take my pistons and put them in another block, I dont wont to be rewriting this story.
  5. A rebuilt short block with a warrenty and bored.
  6. You still want the bumper in my pics with a pipe like this one? Or the bumper you just posted?
  7. It's funny now but then I was pissed.
  8. Anybody have any pricing? All I find is short blocks for sale and no pricing. Act like if they put a price on it the voodo dolls will come out or something.
  9. Just a little hint, dont ever take the little bolt out that is located on top of filter housing to test for oil pressure.:lmao:You will need a bath after words.
  10. The hooks you are talking about, like what's on my ugly bumper? Those came off a Chevy 3/4 ton. They come stock mounted to the frame. I just cut holes in the pipe and welded them in. What I need to tell you is they (hooks) are cast steel, it takes a special process to weld cast steel to steel and not have it break. Some people may say oh just weld it with a 7018. Yea it might hold and it might not. When your truck is about to slide off a 200ft cliff do you want might hold or lift it out with a crane hold.:cool:Send pic of Baja bar that you want and I will start looking around for pipe so we dont have to buy new. And give me a lot of time I am booked solid right now. About 8 weeks.I dont know what shipping is but my zip is 78621.
  11. Which harness is it? If eng. harness it is no big deal to change out. Easier than you think. But if your luck like mine it's the main, right.
  12. Same bumper but no pipe?
  13. The only thing about winches you need to remember it needs to pull straight with the frame. In other words you mount it high or above the frame it will bend the frame if it has enough power. I have repaired two trucks that did that. LOL One tryed to pull a post out of the ground, layed it right over. Yea send me some pics, the only thing is the first one always takes longest. The bumper with the pipe can be built in about 8 hours plus material. 850.00 I use sch 80 for the pipe. My son had a car pull out in front of him 2 weeks after building this bumper, it totaled out the car at 45 mph. Put a nick in his tire and scratched the paint on his bumper.
  14. Why are there two apps codes for low voltage? 0121 and 0122
  15. I have had several people ask about bumpers so here are some I did a few years ago.
  16. A friend of mine has a 06 auto and it keeps cracking the tail housing. It is a welding truck and carries a load at all times. Dealer says it is bottoming out and cracking, is this true and should he put Timbrens on?
  17. That makes sence, that is what will work. Ever time you weld on something it has to shrink somewhere causing it to crack,or crack again. Shot peen needs more room to work.
  18. I got one question. Whats the pecking order? You first or he?
  19. I have looked for info on repairing a 53 block and nothing. I need detail, or let me ask this has anyone ever done it with scucess? I found a motor with 80k and my thought is why cant it be drilled and tapped?
  20. I have ran them all, stock, 3" straight, 4" muffler, 4" straight, 5" stacks, 5" muffler, 5" straight, back to 5" muffler. And wish I would have kept 4" muffler, better turbo whistle.
  21. Yea the needle bearings are a joke. One squeal and the input shaft is toast. Just ask me.
  22. Thats why I am here. If I can get the guy I sold mine to come by I will get measurments and cut it out, bolt holes and all in the exact same spot. I can weld them, but may cost more to ship.Yea I dont like the new style but it works ok. Vist me at JL WeldingTx . com:thumb1:Ok run the one you all like by me one more time. I just bought a new AirDog 150 and it came with quick conects and mounts next to the fram rail. Is it that one or the one like in Mikes pics? That is the one I had on my AD 100.
  23. No there not there, I scroll all the way down after a post and click on smiles and they will come up but wont attach. duh I dont know, I give up --- Update to the previous post... Blind hog can find a acorn ever now and then:doh::lmao:
