  1. The owner of Austin Injection said he would like to take head to his sons machine shop and cut it in half to veiw it from inside out. I told him no problem I can get it to him tomorrow. We'll see what he says when I take it to him.
  2. Well you know the old saying, dont count your chickens before the eggs hatch? I guess I been counting to much. Ok here it is I was talking with Mike the other day that I noticed white smoke coming from tail pipe well she is making a piston slap (over fueling I think) because it aint valves tick I adjusted the valves twice today. 8 and 18 to 10 and 20 and to much noise coming from the hood. White smoke puff when I start. Had some old RV 275 so I took them down to have them pop tested and two good and four bad. Is there anybody on the planet with half the bad luck that I have? I anit scared to ask what next either.So anybody out there got some injectors I can use till mine get back. I just bought these injectors about two or three months ago DDP 50 hp.I hate to say it but these trucks suc, I had 4 hours for good running truck then it takes a dump.

  4. Man you said you wouldnt tell everybody man whats up with that? LOL Well you know how it is, somethings just got to bite you one more time. I had injectors bled and was talking to Mike with eng. running when all the sudden my jaw hit the floor, I forgot to tighten the rocker pedstall's, Valves all adjusted and everything. The rockers where just bumped down with air rachet, no torque just bumped. And what's weird is all intakes where tight and ex where loose. Now that was weird, I still cant figure that one. I thought they would all be tight. Anyway that's it go ahead and laugh, Oh thats not all I left injector line 4 loose and gave my truck a diesel bath. It's all nice and shiny now lol.
  5. She runs like you anit never seen, boys I am going to be hitting 19 mpg I just know it for a 9800 lbs truck. It runs so smooth you dont even know it's running, sounds like a electric car it's so quiet. 2 Years of misery man finally over, next I be hittin the rollers LOL.Sorry for all the excitement, I just cant get over it's finally done. 1 Million miles here I come. Well only 750k left to go.
  6. These pics where taken right after head was pulled, no clean up was done. If you look at the swerils in the head and pistons that has a strange look. The valves are really caked up, then piston not that bad, how does that happen. Number 1 has weird white carbon and others have caked black. I will take it down a little at a time and take better pics then. Should have here fired up by noon tomorrow.
  7. Here ya go, As soon as I get here running I will clean up the head and see if the cracks or what ever I find and post. Oh one thing I didnt get a pic of was the underside of intake plate, it had a black spot like the valves where leaking bad.

  10. Just take it slow and and feel for the gears. And number one in my book is kept your distance from the vehicle in front of you. Practice the end of your trailer when your out on wide open hwy. In other words watch cars when they are passing you and you can make your own mark on your trailer. Good luck
  11. I dont know for sure have not had time to pull it a part. The only thing I can think of is something in the filters? I dont know exactly how the fuel flows thru there but something happen. I am in the middle of pulling head at the moment, as soon as I get it done I am going into pump. I hear it not that hard. Wonder if someone has a manual on a airdog.I had a 15 amp fuse stuck it in there first it blew in about 15 - 20 seconds so Mike said it cant be a short so I came up with bigger fuse maybe get truck home. Stuck it in and it made it about 12 mile home so I put 20 amp back in and finished the day. Been running ever since.Anybody know what the Wix numbers would be?
  12. Just so you know, carry a box with you just in case, 30 amp fuse is what it took to chew what ever it was that bound up in rotor. I know that sounds bad but what are you going to do when you setting on the side of highway about to get creamed from cars doing 90. Oh yea, I can call MoparMan at 7:00am lol, he says he been up, but I dont know sounded a little dry like he been snoring. lol Just ribin ya buddy, thanks for being there.Ok back to pulling head, letting head cool down before I dive in. Let ya know what I find.Anybody know what the Wix numbers would be?

  14. The older I get the faster I do things, work, play, but the driving gets a little slower I dont know why. I work and play faster so I have time for the little things. You wont belive how time flys by. I was young and chasing the pretty girls then I was stove up and plucking gray hair asking myself what happen. lmao
  15. Run some two stroke oil, you will be suprised how much it will quite things down. Not to mention fuel increase.
  16. Yall might laugh but take a heat gun and heat it up then try some dry ice. As long as the dents are not kinked some of them will come out.

  21. Yea, Its been reworked and ready to go. Should pick up tomorrow. --- Update to the previous post... Smokey I know you what me to run compression test but I think the compression in the fuel tank tells the story. There is so much compression it will push fuel out the axu. fuel line on top of tank. Had to drill hole on side of fuel cap to let air out so it would quit pushing fuel out.lol Thanks
  22. Yea, I got the sorry for the bad LUCK but I cant refund half your money back as it ran just fine before he pulled the eng. Well I have news for you my truck has the same problem and it runs like crap surge, missing, compression in fuel return.I only asked for half back due to I am able to us some of the rockers. I will never buy off the computer again. I have to blame my self the guy only had 35 post no one knew who he was.
  23. Ok, well we have 9 cracked exhaust seats two are all the way to the injector ports and two cracked intake seats. I dont think its worth fixin. LOLOh and the name of the guy who sold me this fine running head that he claims ran great when he pulled the motor due to tranny failing. Adam Medows aka Hillbilly0505 hangs out on the Cummins Fourm.
