  1. Could your elevation play a role in your truck liking higher timing? I've turned mine down to sit at a constant 17.75-18 degrees @ 2000 rpm vs 19 and noticed I can go 180 miles on 1/8th of a tank, compared to 1/4 tank the other day. That is a milestone for me considering how many times I have to merge onto the freeway. I don't pussyfoot around.
  2. Indeed. I'm all about conservation. Don't get me wrong, I thoroughly enjoy the skinny pedal, when its merited lol. I'm more of a "have it in case I need it" kind of guy. I like horsepower but like reliability more.
  3. And how many days does it take him to change head gaskets on that thing? Don't you have to pull the front nose clip off or something ridiculous like that just to change head gaskets?
  4. So I'm switching to a bluetooth iQuad dongle. Wife switching to an iPhone from her Galaxy s5...I'm inheriting her S5 and using it as screen for my quad. This is a win win because she gets the phone she wants and I get a monitor that can STAY in my truck...and being that its android, it should be easier to update the iQuad app etc. I do agree....iphone is bullcrap when it comes to the iQuad app.

Ok, so I have Cruise Boost limit @ 12psi...I feel thats good for me, because HWY25 near my area is rather hilly and windy with grades no more than 3%....I can easily do 80 if I wanted. Ok, great. Not confused anymore! Thank you very much! Working on it lol. Thanks allot dude, I appreciate your willingness to help me with all of this. I am a slow learner, sorry.
  10. I did also venture outside of the recommended 13~16* of timing for 1500 rpm range for a while yesterday just to see what would happen, put it at 17*. Not much happened that I seen....my truck cruises at 60 mph in the 1900 rpm range. I put it back to 16*. I need studs like yesterday. Most important insurance. Now my low PSI timing reduction is at 1*. Wouldn't that parameter being set higher counteract higher max rpm timing? For example if I successfully attain 19.25* of timing average while cruising @ 2100 rpm at 68 MPH (which I did)....then having the low psi timing reduct set higher would pull my desired timing at 2000 RPMs, thus lowering my overall MPG? Are these assumptions correct?

  17. Hey whats the longest you guys let your truck warm up locked in 3 cyl high idle? Yesterday I was sitting in my truck while it was warming up on 3 cyl and after like 8 mins it starting vibrating to beat hell, like more pronounced than it was on high idle. I hit the gas pedal and then waited for it to ramp up and kick back into high idle....no more vibration. stumped lol.
  18. I actually live it Fruitland, wa. Just says Spokane cause I get sick of people asking me where Fruitland is. Way way way rural where its ok to have loud toys and ride dirt bikes and shoot guns in my backyard.
  19. @TFaoro I just read your stolen truck thread up until you got it back and then read the following page. You are one lucky dude and seeing that reaffirms why valet mode was written into the quad software. I'll be using it when I venture into the stupid city.
  20. And max timing in the equalizer parameters only means timing won't go above whatever you set it at, at max engine load %, right? But that doesn't apply to cruise state timing?
  21. So to gain more mpg while cruising, just add to the cruise timing. But then how do I assure that theres not TOO much timing being added when The engines under load, other than max load offset?
  22. I hope its ok to post screenshots of my tune, if not tell me and I'll just type it out on the deal Mike made up in the custom tune thread. I really liked the way my edge fueled on 5x5....I'm trying mimic that and get good MPG. I could pull 14K #s on level 2x3 on the edge....that was a very good level....EGTs would never climb past 1100, even if I accidently lugged it. Getting my head wrapped around this timing deal and the cause ad effect is rather difficult for me. Thanks guys! EDIT: Would me posting exported data help?
  23. So I'm still not understanding the timing parameters despite watching the tutorial vid and reading the in depth article here as well as on quads website. I have stock injectors right now. Hopefully that changes soon. I drove truck today and watched the timing carefully at about 60-65 mph/2100-2300 rims. I have 4:10 gears with 285 tires. Timing seemed to hover at 17.20-17.67, I watched it and it didn't go up to 17.7 at all. Despite having my cruise timing advance at 3*. Should I set it higher just for cruise state? And then set the load timing offset to 3 that way it pulls more timing when I get higher boost and I don't end up with head gasket problems.

  25. Another random one...Anyone know of a reputable turbo rebuilder I can send my turbo to or take it to in my area? I'd like to do it myself, but can't right now. I'm gonna get ahold of @Dynamic and see if he knows of anyone in the Spokane area also.
