  1. Al the more reason to talk with ACS or someone that knows these ECM's. You might have to send it off and have tested. It would be worth the phone call. These ECM's do some strange things when they start to fail.
  2. Rock auto had one 32 spline and one 33 spline, one was near $370, the other near $450, dont remeber which was which. Both were new also. I would need more info to dive in, but I need to do it this summer.
  3. You might try giving ACS a call and describe the problem to them. They are in the vendors list. That WTS light has me thinking ECM. But I would not condem one on one of my hunches.
  4. 11 quarts gets mine to the full mark. Never used 12.
  5. Its good info. We have bounced that one around here for many years.
  6. I did not see one on there either. It did say in the products section that them from the early 80's to 2008, but iI did not see them listed at all. @Blue-Top Steering have you stopped on the 2nd gens?
  7. Might be time to make a warranty call to investigate at least. https://www.bluechipdiesel.com/troubleshooting-1 Here is some trouble shooting on the pump you can also try. Good info.
  8. No wonder I never knew about codes. Never had anything newer than an 84 until 1998 when I bought my first 3/4 ton. It was a 96 with a V10. It only gave me one problem in 2001. It was spitting and sputtering with oil running out of the tail pipe. Did not need a code for that. I am still sitting in its replacement.
  9. Me too. I had 2 and put them on last brake job. The old ones had 200k+ on them.
  10. He does have them. Sometimes he is out of stock which means you have to send yours in for him to rebuild. Need to do this myself this summer. Though the Chevy box has my attetion too.
  11. You did have the 3 with fuel tightened up right?
  12. The ECM controls the WTS light. Could be in there also. I had an ECM failure but did not set a code for it either. When it dies for hours or days does the WTS light come on at key on. If its warm outside it will only light very briefly so watch closely.
  13. When the oe hubs went out I had to drive the truck for them to go out. Drove maybe 100 yards and off they went.
  14. Nothing wrong with that either.
  15. When I am thinking "stall" i am thinking shutting down. I saw them WTS flash on and off 4 times while the engine was running. That seems odd to me but dont really know what it could mean. Maybe an ECM issue, just dont really know.
  16. The key to silicone is remeberiing it is easier to add more than it is to wipe off excess. Back when I was carpenter building resteraunts caulking the interior was one of my jobs. I used to have to show many folks that you can seal joints quite well without having caulk smeared everywhere. Just because you cant see it does not mean the joint is not sealed. Your picture is a good example of that.
  17. I am just lucky my light went off and stayed off. Had me guessing too.
  18. Thats what I was thinking. Had this truck for 8 years before I knew wwhat an error code was. Funny how a blown ECM will educate you.
  19. Sometimes they can be stubborn. Good fuel to 3 cylinders ought to start it.
  20. My abs and brake were on and I replaced both front hubs and they stayed on. Replaced the rear after that and they stayed on. Rode like that for a few months and they went off. Cleared the codes and all is still well. Never figured out what was wrong.
  21. Did vehicles set codes back in 88?
  22. Getting a picture with the cow just did not seem apropriate. Plus the first chicken houses I built were KFC's, long ago.
  23. I believe I found the appropriate landmark.
