  1. Hex, i understand where you are coming from. I have only in the past couple years started buying anything off the internet. Just was not the same as being able to hold it in your hand, talk to a person face to face, and walking out with it in your hand after paying for it. The irony of the above is as I type it I remember the first purchase I made on the internet in 2001. My truck. The dealer I was at did not have a 2500 on the lot and all I saw of it was a picture and list of what came with it. Go figure.
  2. I guess I could put the extra 2 in the bed till I wear the others out of just buy a dually. As far being nicer to a set of Michilens versus Coopers, high dollar vs medium dollar, I can wear them out equally as well. I have paid better attention to this set as far as air pressure goes, that is lowering the pressure after towing, and they seem to be wearing better. We'll see in the next several months.
  3. Welcome Mick. There a couple of fire truck jockeys here that gotta love this.
  4. Beautiful place.
  5. You are very welcome. Since I am on the road constantly we have to take many Mother's days and such when ever we can get them. I have been on the road for 30+ years now and it is wearing a little thin. It is getting near time to go home for good.
  6. It was definitely in the handicap space. Never saw who got out of it and couldn't wait for them to come back. It wasn't just cobbled together either, it was nicely done. If I hadn't hurt my leg on Sunday i would have crawled under it to see what they did to the frame. Not sure what they would have thought coming out and seeing me under there.
  7. I left that part out assuming he was just looking for the test port for a test gauge. That is probably why there is no gauge in it now. That sender was probably pounded to death a long time ago.
  8. It appears that the test port is gone and tapped banjo bolt has been installed in its place. you could just re install a test port, all you need is the parts and they should not cost that much. Vulcan performance should have what you need.
  9. Spotted this at Lowe's today. Have not seen one like this for a while.
  10. 105 would be be like Fred Flintstone wheels. Bam-Bam........Bam-Bam. - - - Updated - - - I have been running at 55 psi on the front and 50 psi on the rear. Anything less in the front and it shows up in the steering. As long as I am not hauling anything the 50 in rear works pretty good. I now have a set of Cooper ATP's, 265/75/16 with 20k on them. The only appear about 30% gone. If I got 60k out of these I would be fairly happy. 80 would be nicer, but i have never seen that kind of mileage on any set I have purchased.
  11. takes atoll on the body too. 80 psi will beat the snot out of you.
  12. My biggest mistake is airing them up for towing and continually forgetting to reduce the pressure after towing. 80psi on an empty truck has got to take atoll on the tires.
  13. At 40k to 50k a set you have done well. How many mile do you drive a year? I typically drive 25k a year. for the most part on paved roads and some on the site. Probably 20k highway 4900 in town and 100 off road, very seldom getting stuck. I only tow the rv about 3k mile a year out of that The best I have ever seen is 65k out of a set of Michilens. They are over $1k a set now. I could justify buying the Tredwrights a $600 for a set and getting maybe 45K, but am dubious that would be the case. I cannot seem to get the mileage I see people claim. I have seen claims of up to 100k out of a set of Michilens. I have started reducing my empty air pressure to near 50 and 55psi and my current set of tire is doing well. I think i will see 50 nor 55k out of them. Some of my previous tires have been run at 80 psi to long and will wear the centers out prematurely. That is my fault. I guess I am a little leary of the mileage claims I see.
  14. I am going to have to mine pretty soon due to so oil leaks and am a little hesitant to pressure wash. I figured I would just hand clean the areas I need to work on, tappet cover and vacumm /power steering pump and most like the the front seal. Not sure if I have anything leaking up front yet. I am thinking I dont want to pressure wash until I get the leaks sealed so i dont force any water into the engine. I am definitely not an expert on this, but that is my thought process - - - Updated - - - I should add that this sensor is being sold as the sensor for an 02 and not an 01 and is a 3 wire sensor.
  15. This is touch of topic, but I am replacing my map sensor and the one I got has the 01 style connection. I have and adapter coming for it. whttp://www.rockauto.com/catalog/moreinfo.php?pk=4633374&cc=1440064as I was not able a map sensor that matched the oe and seem to remember reading here a while that they had quit making the 02 style. The new one is 3 wire just like the oe is. Any truth in this yall know of or am I just dreaming? Inquiring minds want to know.
  16. What kind of mileage are yall seeing out of them?
  17. I have seen several folks here in the past talking of these and some that purchased them. I would be interested in hearing what kind of mileage they were getting out of them. Maybe some others of them might post up how they are working out. The price is great if the mileage is working out.
  18. I believe you would be right. so the on me.
  19. I have had my eye one, just to many things going on right now.
  20. I carry a 12 ton hydraulic in the rv. The oe jack aint much but it works for me.
  21. A lot of good info there, thanks to all. Great pics too D4Life. I have not had many instances to use this set up, but it would have been nice at those times. Think I will look into doing it.
  22. I have a daughter, wife and mother-in-law all celebrating mothers day and It just seemed fitting to wish you the same, beings you tend to mother some of us at times. So I hope you had a good day with your son.So from me and I am sure every one here, Happy Mothers Day.
  23. I do like the way these trucks will set level with a big load. When I hauled the 2 cubes of brick in mine, it still sat level. Thats near 6k pounds. I had one cube against the front of the bed and the other against it. It settled on the overloads and stayed there. The truck handled it fine, I just hope I dont have to do it again.
