  1. 1 buck on 250k units is cool 1/4 mil. it adds up fast. its still pretty disgusting.
  2. i caught it about 75 miles form my destination. made the rest of the trip a little slower. dropped the trailer and drained and replaced the oil until i can figure what to do. been wanting some rv 275's, just wanted to replace on my schedule. is there anywhere else the fuel can be getting in from? the vp only has 10 to 12k on it. i have read of a seal going bad that can let it in.
  3. i must agree with all of the above. i dont think they will be happy until we are all riding bicyles and making our own candles again. drill for oil, dig some coal and let the arabs drink their oil.
  4. you could do a video on an engine rebuild. to heck with the pump.
  5. friday of last week i drove home from Elizabeth city nc to hickory nc. the truck ran beautiful with no problems. ran it out of fuel the next day. reprimed everything no problem. checked all my fluid including oil sunday before leaving for columbia tn on monday. the truck ran flawlessly again. had my 5th wheel on, drove over the bluridge mountains no problems what so ever. stopped to buy fuel and noticed some oily residue on the landing gear and front of the rv. looked under the truck a i could see fluid on every thing, not dripping anywher but wet pretty much all over. opened the hood and all the resevoirs were full so i pulled the dipstick and i was growing oil. it appears to have come out of crank case breather. i did have some fuel along the intake where 2 of the injectors were weeping. think i have that stopped. i would not think that could get in the engine though. not sure where to start looking but im thinking yall can help with that.i weighed my rig while i was buying fuel and it weighed in at 22,700. its the same trailer i have been pulling for 6 years now with nothing like this happening. like i said above every thing was running normal by the gauges. i pulled like a beast. 3 to 4% grade in 6th at half throttle and would accelarate. 6 to 7% grades in 5th pretty much wide open once it got over 6%.
  6. 1/2 season = trashed engine. :cry:60 seconds with the wrong jug = 30 minute clean up. :nono:you get what you pay for.
  7. my problems pale in conparison to yours. but that third nut thing i dont know.
  8. just goes to show no matter how bad you think you have it if you just look around enough you can find someone to make you feel smart again. thanks ISXat least i did not pour it in the radiator.
  9. well not only did i run my truck out of fuel this weekend but after i got it running again and went home idecided to check fluid levels and what not before leaving for a new job on monday. i noticed that my coolant resevoir is a little low right after finding a jug of antifreeze in the bed that i could not figure out how it got there. well i just poured in a couple pints and right after that i realize it is not antifreeze it is the diesel fuel i bought to reprime my fuel system:doh:. man do i feel like a dumb a!!. thank goodness it was an easy fix and now i have a very clean resevoir.:lmao2:just goes to show that some good can come out of anything.
  10. i put 15 gallons in yesterday and just filled up and put 20 gallons more in. just ran it out of fuel. have not done that in 5 or more years. just goes to show that the in tank pump replacement kit that came with the ADII works very well.the bug still amazes me. i wish i had taken a picture of it. completely intact and sitting on top of the fws. it must have gotten in the filter before i installed it. there just no way for that thing to have been sucked in there with the fuel.i am:hyper::hyper:.
  11. got to the truck and still no pressure even with it facing down hill. took off both filters and the filter screen. the screen was clean. the filters were near half full,so i filled them up, reinstalled them and bingo i have pressure. loosened some injector lines and she is running again. i dont rember having to fill them when i installed it, but maybe i did. hopefully this never happens again but if is does and i put 15 gallons in the tank i think i will save a quart for the filters. appreciate yalls helpit turns out the plug in the other port was still in place. did not have good enough light to se that yeaterday, i reckon.
  12. i am thinking clogged because of all the dirt that came out of the fws, but how the bug got on top of the fws is a mystery. it is about 3/8" long and a 1/4" wide. it was completely intact. i did not have any tools with me last night but am headed that way shorltly with some.the port at the outlet and return is still amystery. i could not find anything about it last night, but it does appear to be missing a plug of whatever sort was in there to begin with. i will let yall know what i find.
  13. when i checked the filters they were both tight and the drain on the fws was tight but i did loosen it with my fingers. i could not find any thing on AD's site about the plug at the fuel outlet and return, but it appears to be missing. i could feel no suction on it while trying to prime it, but i dont think it should be open.when i installed the pump it had no problem pulling fuel from the tank with dry filters. i had to do it 2or 3 times before i had it set up the way i wanted it, but the filters were full the last couple of times. i guess i will try again tomorrow and hope i can find a suction leak somewhere. i dont think i can find any filters before monday.
  14. drove home yesterday, 350 miles with no issues, everything normal. i knew i had run the tank pretty low but should have had a couple of gallons left. went to my son's house this am and backed down his driveway. while ideling the engine appearred to run out of gas. with a low tank and steep down hill grade i could not see it being something else. we got back later with 5 gallons of fuel, put it in the truck and bumped the starter. fuel pump ran but no fuel pressure. i figured the slope was enough that the fuel wasnot deep enough to get to the pmp. went back and got 5 more, no change. went back and got 5 more no change. we pulled the truck out of the drive way and got it pointed down hill, still no fuel pressure. the pump is running but picking up no fuel. neither of the 2 filters on the AD had much fuel in them and i drained some from the FWS and found more dirt particles than i expected to see. i removed the FWS and sitting on top of the filter was a bug about twice as big as a house fly, how that got there is still beyond me. the second filter had some fuel in it but not much. it seems that every thing is pointing to a clogged filter, but every thing was working fine and then the engine shot down like it ran out of fuel. the other thing i noticed while checking the filters is an opening just to the left of the fuel supply and return lines that as i remember had a plug in it and now is open. i stuck my finger over it and tried to prime the pump with no success. there is another plug on top of this part of the pump and that plug is in place. one of these is for a pressure gauge, but i dont know what the other is for.if it is not a clogged filter is there something i am over looking? have not bought spare filters yet so i cant try that until i get some(not smart i know, but feel free to take your best shot).
  15. check for trouble codes and see if that might point to some other problems that are contributing to this.
  16. your in tank camera work is superb and i belive that would be the offending ball.
  17. did you get it installed? did you find out about the ball.
  18. did you ever check for dtc's? the otto also connects thru the apps sensor as well. it might need a reset. the map sensor might need a cleaning sense your running an e brake. just thinking out loud here.
  19. the fsm is in the download section. have you checke for trouble codes?there are wiring diagrams there also.
  20. thats what i am thinking, but i would feel better if someone with a little more knowledge of the DDRP to chime in here.
  21. cant find my wiring diagrams, but the 50 pin connector is on the ecm and not the pcm. i know the ecm reads the sensors and it might very well have to go thru the pcm to the cluster. that part i dont know. when i replace my ecm my problems went away. Have you checked for any trouble codes? those would help alot.
  22. is there not a ball in the filler neck to stop fuel from spilling in a roll over situation? that might be where it came from. i have always been able to use the larger nozzles at a truck stop to fill my tank. sure is quicker.by the way RJC2. enjoyed the conversation the other night, but sure was pita going to work the next morning.
  23. i ran a k&n for many years but only cleaned mine every 50k to 60k maybe onger. when i changed over to the bhaf i noticed there was some oily residue on the turbo at the compresor wheel, not alot it wiped off with a clean rag very easily. i have read here and on some other forums that the residue can build up in the intercooler. i saw no changes, maybe alittle reduction in egt's, but no differance in fuel milage or power. intake noise is about the same.
  24. just a thought here. is the DDRP capable of any more pressure or flow than what he is getting now even with bigger plumbing?
  25. i had a similar problem awhile back. the temp gauge was going crazy and the check gauges light came on. i ran a diagnostic check on the cluster and it said it was bad and i replaced it. i did not help. i did have alot more problems than you do though and could not drive the truck. it turned out the ecm took a dump. you might try removing the cluster and check and clean your connections. if i read your sig correctly you might be able to swap the clusters and see what happens. not sure about the manual and auto though. i have a spare cluster from an 02 manual if your are any where near me to try it.
