  1. 99 ctd with only 345,000 miles.
  2. Yes, after looking at the Kubota website I found out that it is a K1, it is stamped on the block and has a K1B on the head. I am thinking that it is around 20 horse power, but not positive on that. All that I found on the engine was through tractors and most where about 20 horse power.
  3. I am not sure, I am open to offers. I do not have any idea what it is worth? Looking on the internet new engines are over $1000, but that is for newer engines so I am not looking for nearly that much. I do not need it so if I get an offer I will probably let it go.
  4. If I remember correctly, it was a few years ago that I had a 93, but I think there was 6 bolts that held it on. Might double check, I might be tuinking of one of my gas rigs?
  5. Well, I was thinking about putting the engine in an 80 Toyota pickup, but looking at the horsepower rating of the Kubota engine is only about 25 horse, and the engine in the pickup now is about 100 horse, I guess that I may look into just trying to sell the engine since I am thinking that it will not be big enough to be any good to me. Thanks all of you for helping me out to find out what engine I had and giving me an idea where to look to find out more information about it.
  6. Thank you for the information. Now I know where to start looking, was not even thinking Kabota so this is a huge help.
  7. Here are a few pictures of the injection side. Any info would be great, I will look up Kabota diesels online to see what I can find. Thanks for all the info so far, it is more than I had before and gives me places to look at now.
  8. A friend of mine gave me a diesel engine out of a refridgeration unit, I am thinking about putting it in an 81 Toyota pickup, but have a few questions. Just wondering if any one know what kind of engine this is and how hard it would be to mate a transmission to it. I am thinking that the Toyota would get better milage with a diesel, but just not sure if this engine would work for this application?
  9. There should be nothing that you will need. When I removed it from the truck I made sure that the torque converter remained on the transmission. Yes, it is a 4X4 transmission, so it should bolt right in. I will give R and L freight a call tomorrow to find out what shipping will cost, what zip code will it be shipped to? Yes, I do have a paypal account. I think all you need is my email address, which is 'jonathan1950@yahoo.com'. I will get back to you as to the cost of shipping as soon as I find out what it will cost. Thank you.
  10. I am thinking $250 for it, I am southwest of Twin Falls, ID. Not sure exactly how much shipping will be, but my NV4500 shipping was only about $200 shipped from the east coast.
  11. Definitely interested depending on price and location considering shipping would probably be outrageous and my only vehicle that I could load a transmission in and drive wherever is the one that needs it I'm kinda limited.
  12. Not sure how spendy it will be to fix yours, I have a used 47re out of a 99 that was in good working condition when I pulled it out to replace it with a NV4500. Might be cheaper to replace than rebuild? Just thought that I would put that out there if you are interested.
  13. Not sure if this will help you, but I just saw this while looking for something else, a new dash cap.http://www.amazon.com/MOLDED-DASH-1998-2001-DODGE-DARK/dp/B000P9K3GW%3FSubscriptionId%3DAKIAILVCN2MFGXTZE67A%26tag%3D8cheap043-20%26linkCode%3Dxm2%26camp%3D2025%26creative%3D165953%26creativeASIN%3DB000P9K3GW
  14. Woring on a ranch, two of the owners trucks go into the shop more often than most people take thiers in in a life, and the trucks are only about two years old. Trying to keep a ranch truck up and running for any length of time is near impossible, I spend about 95% of my time out on the desert, gravel roads, dirt roads or just going over brush. The bosses trucks have several lights on for abs, remote tire pressure sensors, abs and the like. We do not have a/c, power window or door locks. They are about as plain jane as possible, we are lucky to have a radio. The truck in the first video is a lot nicer than any truck we have out here, even the new truck we have. Today I had to move some cows, the "gravel" road that I had to pull the stock trailer down was so slick that half the time I was fish tailing. Like other have posted, out on the ranch or farm the work has to get done, some might call it abuse but if it is snowing or raining and the cows need to be fed there is not much chioce but to use the truck as a 'work truck'. Not all truck I guess will stay nice looking, I hope to keep my personal truck as clean as possible for as long as possible, but then again I have my work truck to go out and 'abuse' and the boss is alright with it.
  15. That is amazing. It gives me something to look forward to. I only have about 600,000 miles to go to catch up to you. Hope that it goes well over a million for you!!!
  16. I had a 93 with an auto. It had an overdrive and on the dash was a push button to shift back into third. I am not sure what year they started putting overdrive in the Cummins? My 99 came with an auto and it too had overdrive but the button was on the shifter instead of the dash.
  17. So I crawled under the truck, even though I had the pigtails for the auto stuck up out of the way, and since I can not change out the auto wiring for the manual wiring, the pigtails had been crushed by the snow and appearently shorted out the PCM. I switched PCM's and almost everything is back to working. I do not have the average mpg or the distance to empty on my overhead. Not sure if I shorted out the PCM for good or if it will be able to be repaired? Just wonder who to send it too to have it fixed?
  18. I too have a 99, on the bottom of my overhead consol there is a little red light. When I lock my doors that red light will start flashing to show that the security system has been activated. As for the doors locking, they will do that when you reach 15 mph or more, it is an automatic thing on my truck and has nothing to do with keyless entry. I also have a green light on my mirror, but that is for the auto darkening feature. There is a way to program more fob's, but you need one working fob to program more, so your best bet I think would be to go to the dealership and if your truck is equipted with a keyless entry they would be able to program one or two for you. Also you might be able to check if you have a security system, sit in the truck and lock the doors with the door lock switch. Watch the light on the bottom of the overhead consol until it flashes at regular interval, about 20 seconds I think. Then open your door and the horn should sound. Might give that a try first before going to the dealership???
  19. I have a friend that just purchased an 01, the fuel gauge is off by about a quarter of a tank so he ran out of fuel. Ever since his fan switch only works on high. I have not tried to pull any codes off but his 'cel' is not lit. Any ideas where to start? Thanks, Jonathan.
  20. So yesterday I was driving in winter like conditions, busted through two snow drifts, shortly after that my dash went dead except the tach. 'No bus' was displayed in the odometer and my over head consol had 'CCd'. I was able to get to a small town only about 70 miles from home before the batteries gave out. I just put on an ecm and pcm from a 99 manual, so I am not sure if the ecm gave out or if it might be an electrical issue? I tried to read the codes with my Smarty but it seems that it can not find the ecm, it just keeps telling me to turn the key off then turn the key on. I do have a down load on the Smarty so I am also wondering if the ecm is toast is there any way to unlock the Smarty with since it is vin locked to the ecm? Any help or advise will be appreciated. I was able to get the truck home today, so I will be able to charge the batteries and tinker with it in my spare time. Thanks, Jonathan.
  21. There is a company advertising on tv that will sell a tank twice as large, the gasser might have one of those under it??? I have a 99 qcsb and have a 34 gallon tank, which is plenty as I am never more than 600 miles away from a diesel pump. As for a larger tank, it only means more money to fill it up, although if you find a cheap price it might be worth it, but in that case I can just throw my 100 gallon tank in the bed and get all the fuel I need for a while. As for you daughter, I am not sure if she could put up with me, as I too am very sarcastic!
  22. Just wondering if anyone knows if any of the wiring harness needs to be replaced when switching from an auto PCM to a manual PCM?
  23. Another idea would be to relocate the filler neck up on the headache rack. The problem with putting it in the bed is that if you have a load that covers the filler neck then it will be very difficult to fuel the truck. I have seen trucks with thin tanks at the headache rack and the vent is run up above the auxliary tank. It might need the return from the injection pump run into it. This would solve two problems, first the filling problem and second it would give you extra fuel storage.
  24. Just wonderind how hard it would be to convert my 99 to disc brakes? Could I use the set-up from a newer truck, just switch axles or buy a kit?
  25. Might want to check out 'cummins form', they had an article with pics on p-pump swamp. It was very indepth with a lot of pics, wish you luck.
