cracked fuel filter housing.
It can and will if you attach the fuel line directly to the VP44.

Your oil pressure is good for idle but for high speed I think it is low. I know my Cummins oil pressure is about 70-80 pounds at 60mph. I am not saying you have a problem, just mine is different.

need new battery cables
Thats what I did. I went to Car Quest and they did a good job for much less than half the money. I went with Red for Hot and Black for Ground.

1998 Dodge Ram Trailer Brake wiring harness
I am talking about the wiring harness from the oem push/pull light switch installed in the dash to the aftermarket trailer brake control box. There should be a oem harness hanging from the oem light switch that will plug into the aftermarket trailer brake harness, like plug and play. Is it possible that the 98 Ram 2500 did not have the oem harness when built? I do know on my 98 there are wires hanging down and hand wired and wrapped with black tape and my trailer brakes do not work properly. If there is such a harness available I would happily buy it to save the wiring job. I thank you members for helping me solve this mess. I did not do it but I have to fix it but I refuse to blame George Bush.

1998 Dodge Ram Trailer Brake wiring harness
Information Please, Does anyone know if the 1998 Dodge Ram/Cummins Dash light pull switch has a removable trailer wiring harness. Is the trailer wiring harness plug and play. Mine was altered by previous owner. If so can the oem trailer wiring harness be purchased and where? Thank you, Tom.

P0112 P0237 guidence
Are both your batteries holding the proper charge? How about your Battery cables ? I was having numerous problems with my 5.9 Cummins so I started from the beginning. New Batteries and total Battery cable replacement made a big difference.

New starter Motor made in china
I don't know but if it is like the rest of the crap they make it won't last. I think Mike has a wright up on rebuilding starters which would be very useful.

Mike will you please be more specific as to exactly what you want.
AGP Turbo, This is not a personal attack on anyone, sorry you don't like my approach and don't brag, you were not the only member that donated $10. which was never my complaint.

Mike will you please be more specific as to exactly what you want.
Excuse me joecol911, I re-read my post and said nothing about being "ripped off", $10.00 is nothing to complain about. What I am looking for if you don't object are the BoD rules and why I was e-mailed a notice that "If I did not reply with in 24 hours" ? so back to my origional question "What do you want, what are your rules?
-
Mike will you please be more specific as to exactly what you want.
I am sure that I am not the only member that wants to know exactly what you want. First you notify members that you are shutting down this site, then you changed your mind and notified members that the rules have changed. Then you notify members that the minimum dues you expect is $10.00 for each six month period or member can not post. So myself and others sent you the $10.00 dues required to post. Today I receive your e-mail SR233- NOb Membership Requirements. Will you please explain to us exactly what these requirements are and exactly what you are looking for. This is not a personel attack on you or any one else, I would just like to know exactly what you want. Tom Kerley.

What is the procedure to setting the HX35 Turbo pressure to 33psi?

Turbo
mulcher812 My Dodge Ram 1998.5, 24v 4x4, 5 speed stick. The problem I believe I may be having is when I am driving and accelerate weather loaded or empty, pulling a trailer or not, I never feel or hear the Turbo kick in, it just does not sing [wistle] so I just assume there is a problem. I installed the AutoMeter fp guage eight years ago and have 22p at idle, 20p +- while driving and 18+ WOT. I bought new AutoMeter Boost and Pyrometer guages that will be installed this week. I also bought a Boost tester from ebay. [bought my AutoMeter guages from a vendor not ebay]. Also last year I installed a BHAF from Donaldson with a Heat Shield so there is plenty of clean air available for power. Will the Boost guage inform me when the Turbo is working ? Also I have fuel guage problems which will be solved by a Vulcan Liberty asap.

Turbo
CT Cummins24V, I guess I can't figger out how to add the info. you requested, I'm just old and getting senile. I need directions. Thank you for the waste gate testing info. MnTom, I know very little about Turbo's except every one wants to change them for whatever reason. I just want to know that what I have is working well. 5.9 24v 5 speed stick 4x4 2002k miles. I am the second owner and aquired this truck eleven years ago with 198k. I don't drive it much unless I'm hauling hay or cattle. Thank you, Kerley

Turbo
Thinking about removing my Turbo to have it tested. Where would I take it for testing and is there a way to test without removing it from Manifold? Thank's, Kerley

ECM flash question
First of all check for recall's and Dodge free repairs, I found this information on this site. If you find something call a Dodge dealer and he will want your Vin Number and if the work has not been done they will do it free. I had my ECM updated last month for free which the dealer would have charged me $400.00.

Need Information
I'm ready to install my Autometer Boost and Pyrometer Gages. I am concerned with the exhaust manifold drilling necessary to install the Pyrometer guage. The directions are all here and installation is no big deal but I do not trust myself with the drilling so I think it would be better to remove the exhaust manifold and have a Machine shop do the drilling and tapping of the threads, also I would know that there was no debris left to destroy the Turbo. So my question. Is there any gaskets other than the Exhaust Manifold and the Flange gasket seal and is it necessary to disconnect the Turbo from the exhaust down pipe? I know these are simple questions but I've never worked on a Cummins before and want to have all parts on hand so an easy project does not become a PITA. Thanks guys.

Disabling truck ideas
You shure made me laugh, My Blue Healer was the size of a Budweiser can when I got her. She was my best friend when I owned the ranch in Nevada I had a little female {spade} Blue Healer named "Spud" If I left her outside at night and she found my pick-up with the window open, that is where she slept and no one got in that pick-up. Spud always rode shotgun and I could park anywhere. Sorry for your truck theft.

Thermostat temp?
I think I have a 180* thermostat based on the factory dash temp guage. I have installed new Intercooler boots, Donaldson air filter and just had Dodge program my computer. The computer program made a big improvement in power wise, It runs sweet, best since I've owned it. All Battery Cables, Batteries, Fan Belt,Alternator,Oil, Air and fuel filters, four new tires, shocks and Crank shaft Sensor were changed about six months ago and been driven about five hundred miles. WOW, no wonder my wife thinks I need a new truck. I have not changed the Injectors or run the valves. My truck does not burn oil. Fuel pressure is 18 to 20 psi. so why such poor mileage of 14mpg .

Thermostat temp?
What Thermostat temp is best for Dodge Ram/24v Cummins? Just wondering if I would get better fuel mileage with the 190* thermostat. What temp do you have and mileage. Thanks, Kerley

What company's VP44
My advice is "No matter what you do buy from one of our vendors. They will stand behind their product. I broke down on the freeway and had to be towed into the nearest diesel repair shop in Montgomery, Alabama and boy did get screwed every way you could imagine. I have no clue where they got the replacement IP or if it was new or rebuilt. I do know that they spilled some type of chemical on the hood and front fender that ate the paint off and stole my factory steps. They charged me $2850.00 to get my truck back.
