  1. I have a 4x4 with a low lying creeper. Works great. And ramps for lower cars. I'm flying solo so no tool assistant. Boy would that be nice!
  2. A girls gota do what a girls gota do even if that means doing it in 3/4 rock
  3. Got it! Yes I got ahold of Eric, good guy right there. He said the dimensions can vary depending on the truck. He said go ahead and force it. So the hoses slipped over the 2nd hump in the tube. All is well! Thanks everyone for the tips.
  4. Hi yes Eric told me to bend the fenders back on both sides with a large crescent wrench, which I did. That worked out great! Yea it seems like it's 3/4" to 1" too long overall. So perhaps I just need to shorten one of the boots. I just wasn't sure if I had things oriented wrong or was just doing something blond. I could probably force the whole assembly in position but that doesn't seem like such a nice idea to me.
  5. I purchased these intercooler boots (VPMAX 94-02 Intercooler Boot Kit) after discovering the fender lip had cut into the boots on the both sides at the intercooler, it happens! http://www.vulcanperformance.com/VPMAX-Intercooler-Boot-Kit-p/icb2.htm They look really good. I'm having a bit of a battle getting the passenger side installed. The whole assembly, when all the way seated, appears to be too long by about 1". I'm attaching a few pix of where I am with it. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
  6. Sadly, I’ve not had a garage for about 8 years. Lost in divorce, worse than a fire. The truck is no doubt in good hands now!! Happy to be here.
  7. I have no garage :-( someday, hopefully I will have one again.
  8. Indeed. this is clearly the best resource on the web for me and the dragon. I’m already having an awesome time with all the great articles and support. I like doing as much of the work on it that I can myself and now I have a great group if mentors to keep me on the right track.
  9. My dad’s a designer. And 15 years ago there was another structure like this there so perhaps your family saw it. www.pjpearcedesign.com I was working with my dad until recently. The truck was unloved by it’s prior owners. It appears as though zero maintenance was done. Those days are over. The Dragon is back in So Cal where it belongs and I should have it all sorted and reliable again soon. It’s has just south of 100k on it and zero rust, so I think it’s going to be just fine. I love the 6 speed manual!!
  10. It was originally designed as a playground structure in the 1970's. http://curvedspacediamondstructure.com/ The pod was the prototype for a sculpture we installed in 2011 in the Open Air Museum in Hakone Japan. It is an immersive sculpture and maps the geometry of carbon or diamond crystals.
  11. What in the hail? Actual weather seen in the wild today in SoCal, for like 10 minuets. Now you see it now you don’t. Very rare sighting.
  12. Awesome instructions thank you so much for that! You're effort madd this a super easy project. I did use a PVC pipe cutter rather than a hack saw and a band saw to cut the taper at the end of the outlet.
  13. Magical!! On Tuesday I will have to take a long drive to find some of that beautiful stuff to go play in.

Well once again you've published a gem. I figured while I have the crankcase ventilator off for a valve adjustment I'd tackle this brilliant mod. I have the bottle solution and WOWSERS what a big mess to clean up in the front of my engine compartment. I cleaned the radiator goo off awhile ago not realizing what caused that. Now I know. My paint is drying right now. I'll send a pix of the final install. I live and play on some very steep roads so this is not a trivial issue up here. Thanks so much for doing this follow up article to your first one. It made my work light and most enjoyable!!! Much appreciated!!!! BTW I used a ratcheting PVC cutter rather than a hack saw, much easier and tidier. For $16 I figured the tool was worth the time savings et all.
  15. Mother nature seems to have completely forgotten about making winter happen here. Feels like spring up here today. The ancient Red Shank forrest is all happy about it!

I got this project handled today. Every valve lash was off, not by too much, but I'm glad I did it. The truck has just south of 100k miles on, that were not maintained at all, as far as I can tell. I'm working on the things that I think will make the truck as reliable is it can be, as well as in proper running order. This task falls under the proper running order category. Thank you for the fantastic instructions. It made the whole process a lot more fun! I found them very helpful indeed. A thing of beauty really.
  17. Seems like it would be good to test it both ways.
  18. "the map looks to be working right." Oh Joy! For sure the leak business is the next thing to look into. Thank you so much for the follow up!!
  19. I believe it's stock but I'm still evaluating the truck. I've only had it for a few months.
  20. Ok so ran a test today. Reading of 54.6 inHg when cold at idol. When I step on it the dragon blows out black smoke at a reading of about 65 inHg, then the smoke goes away and the reading increases and pegs at 75.0 inHg all the way up to a higher LOAD PCT I think I got it up to 82% or so at one point. At the end of my run, while idling at normal operating temperature the reading came in at 55.2 inHg Let me know if you think I should replace my MAP sensor. It looks easy enough to do, and yes even fun :-)
  21. My fuel pressure is beyond terrible!! I just got a gauge on it. That's top priority for sure. I put the mods in my profile list but I guess there's somewhere else I need to put that info. Thanks I'll look into it. Ok got the mods in the right place now. Thanks!
  22. Ok excellent. I'll check on that later when I take the dragon out for a spin. Thanks much, I'll let you know what I learn.
