Torque Converter Acting Weird
not quite in the same place as the G100 with the bunch of wires it's more on the round of the wheel liner Yes the cruise can is a pain to get the strip with the 2 studs back in the right place AND to get the nuts on from underneath without pushing the POS up need arms 7ft long Be careful calling that ground with the bunch of wires to it OK I did the same mine was not ok so pulled the battery and tray twice instead of once I would advise redoing that one which is G100 and the other one which is close by and check the one on the top area of that fender

2018 Mahindra Retriever 1000 Diesel Flexhauler Review

Door speakers
So you're saying system amps are the front speakers, my truck has a mind of it's own on sound, start it and left rear is all you get, SO turn it up and boom other speakers chime in if and when they feel like it, switch off and back to left rear

Power steering again
Closest drill I had was .203 so that's what it got, this is the hole down the centre, the 2 other holes one which is already there and the new one opposite you drill got .125 as instructions say

No electrical - ZIP. Up a creek without a paddle!
Glad you got it sort of sorted. Love the bed on the truck, I drive a 2500 diesel but have a 3500 gas 5.9 parked and slowly rusting away and that bed is just what I need to fab for it For the record here in the UK the gas 3500 will more than likely be able to be driven long after the diesel especially if gas..... sorry propane converted

Power steering again
I did see a picture somewhere the other day with the pump shaft sheared off. Me personally after looking at the relief valve the mod does nothing to actually raise pressure as no springs are shimmed/stretched the only thing the mod does is make a bigger path for pressurized oil to get out of the pump as in less restriction after the relief valve. Both my steering and brakes feel better at low rpm as you would parking etc

Power steering again
I have compressed air and blow gun but that and several tries with brake cleaner wouldn't shift it, I have a spare pump in pieces so took a at that and looking from the side through the small hole I could see light from the ends if that make sense, the one I drilled there was no light but brake cleaner would spray through it in a fashion so redrilled by hand not power

Torque Converter Acting Weird
Did you check G100 earlier in the thread when I mentioned it as changed my lockup engagement ? Also the really bad wire that was causing my wiper turn signal problem was buried inside the bunch and not visible just by looking, only found the 1 strand wire by cutting the terminal off and prising it apart and it is only crimped by the way There is 2 grounds to the front and below the drivers battery

Torque Converter Acting Weird
what happens if you brake but don't let off, this shouldn't then come out of lockup at all it should just drive against the brake it just seems odd that everything is as it should until you step on the brake

Torque Converter Acting Weird
What's lockup like when you drop it in and out of 4th, is it still harsh or not
-
Power steering again
Yes the small side hole got blocked while drilling through the centre

Power steering again
I fitted a new PS pump last year around August If I remember correctly, always seemed a little underpowered at idle but I thought it was down to my tyres. Yesterday I delivered a mower I'd sold to a guy 40 odd miles away using a 12ft trailer, anyway missed the house so had to do a U turn at a T junction, it was a bit tight and to be fair I held the steering on full lock for too long and too hard, all of a sudden steering and brake pedal are both hard, I got straightened up checked for leaks , no leaks but steering hard at idle, delivered the mower and drove home with no steering or brakes at low revs. Took the pressure pipe off and the fitting to get to the relief valve and the relief valve is stuck right in and won't come out, after fishing with a strong magnet I had to remove the PS pump Once on the bench I managed to get the valve out, cleaned everything up with brake cleaner and everything is ok and moving as it should, polished the valve with very fine wet and dry to be sure Did the power steering pump mod before refitting it and wow what a difference it's like a totally different truck. In the article below it mentions about being careful not to block the small hole when drilling the centre of the fitting, this is a good tip as mine did block and I did have to redrill it

and if it isn't your problem at least you'll have ticked off a ground that is very prone to corrosion

Torque Converter Acting Weird
As I said in my original last post on my left turn/ wiper problem I can be accelerating harder in L/U after cleaning up the G100 before the lockup clutch starts to chatter/slip, nothing else has changed and it is in either 3rd L/U or 4th L/U, I can now actually stomp it to force a L/U dropout, I had to be very careful before fixing G100 getting it to drop out of L/U, thinking about it I'd be pedalled off. A/C voltage is low, wt is done, I've looked at the schematic and I cannot figure it out, only thing I can think of is stuff must have been finding ground somewhere else. Maybe 6 years ago I did a Caterpillar certified series of courses, Engines, Trans, Hydraulics and Electrics, the electrical was 10 days, the first thing the instructor said was electrical Ions flow from the ground not the positive which was totally the opposite to what everyone thought on this course ( don't shoot me Only repeating) On these trucks I'd go so far as checking the box ground strap for a vp issue

Torque Converter Acting Weird
I don't care a hoot what is grounded on G100 what I do know for sure is cleaning that up has reduced my torque convertor problems

Torque Converter Acting Weird
Check the state of the G100 ground to the front of the drivers battery tray, I had a left turn signal working the wipers which was the G100 ground, BUT since sorting it out lockup is different, I have problems with lockup shuddering if I pedal it but since re doing the G100 it is better, not fully sorted my problem but better, my torque and trans really need £££ thrown at them

Left turn signal working wipers
Been out with my box trailer today to a Job maybe 45 miles away, North up the M1 which is our main highway from London to Leeds. There is 2 or 3 decent hills and it appears to me as if lockup is holding better than it was, I'd been having to back off quite a lot as there appeared to be some rather harsh slippage, now since re doing the G100 ground it does seem to hold better both in 3rd and 4th, it now doesn't chatter until I'm really on it..... which I don't anyway I do drop it out of OD when towing whenever there is the slightest uphill stretch There is quite a bunch of grounds on G100 I wonder if there is anything trans related

Steering Issues/Cold Weather problems
Isn't it the seals that don't like synthetic oil, When I changed my pump last year which I did because it was leaking and seemed to have a low pressure problem I originally filled with ATF then noticed people saying don't use ATF, I spent ages trying to find the correct oil over here in the UK, parts stores here do not stock mineral PSO as everything is synthetic. Mine was probably leaking because I'd used atf, I didn't make any difference to the feel of the system though, but it was well worn anyway

Left turn signal working wipers
Yes, I should have known better really, thing is I pulled/twisted on that bunch of wires and no difference in Ohms but as you say one strand will show good No... too cold here right now for concrete so next best is what it got Not Brexit my friend we're much better off now..... We cut the anchor chain , the UK has vaccinated 15 million people since Dec 8th. EU didn't start until 27th Dec as they couldn't decide whether to approve the vaccines or not, now they just might have done 2 or 3 million, we'll have 70% of our population done by July, EU countries range from December this year at the earliest to the middle of 2024 for the slowest and they still keep banging on about WE made a mistake and we'll be rejoining soon.... yeah right

Left turn signal working wipers
All sorted.......... I decided to check for bare shorted wiring around the column, all ok there, took a look at the wiring diagram again and checked for stuff earthed/grounded at G100 left fender and as well as wipers and indicators (turn signals) the washer pump is also on that ground, unplugged it and everything is back to normal, plugged washer pump back in and wipers come on with left turn signal. I took the battery and box out again and while the G100 ground ohmed out ok the other day and looked passable I decided to just replace it, chopped the terminal off and while inspecting it there was one thin black wire (not all wires in this bunch are solid black) with just one thread of copper wire holding it to the terminal, this wire was really in the middle of the bunch and not too visible, after stripping insulation off to re-terminal, this wire ohmed to the washer pump ground. This is not a good area to re- terminal at all so had to use 3 ground terminals as there is just no room to get my big crimps in, so crimped then soldered then heat shrinked, bolted back up and covered in copper grease. Beyond me how a washer pump with a bad earth puts the wipers on BUT only when left turn signal is operated and NOT when the washer pump is operated As for hoods and bonnets yes it's a bonnet here but a lot of American car/truck owners here either are members of forums in the USA or order parts from the USA or have friends in the USA..... got to get with the terminology or at best you ain't getting parts/info and at worst sounding like you just dropped in from outer space suppose it also goes the other way as to you guys a bonnet is something a good lady would wear to the county fair You were right

Left turn signal working wipers
I just checked the 3 grounds around the drivers battery, 2 underneath to the front on the fender wheel well and one one the top front of the fender, all ohmed out ok but cleaned and copper greased and then terminal protector once tightened back up, no difference to the turn signal/wiper problem but at least they are clean and good now... still waiting on the switch
