  1. I have a DTT Assassin mechanical pump from DAP, it will suck a football down a garden hose, I use a Cat filter head and Cat 2 micron fuel filters, I do have a FP gauge but never look at it now, highest fuel temps towing my 5th is 120f at 1/2 tank The kit from @dieselautopower was a good price but I already had the Cat filters, I'm just now removing the small steel return line from the head which cracked on our recent 2 week trip to North West UK, nothing to do with the pump it just fractured in a bracket at the side of the trans, if you go this route make sure you get 1/2" lines
  2. No not really. I have a DTT Assassin mechanical pump, bone stock truck except for a quad, no other way to go, FP goes UP with RPM not down, pushes fuel through 2 micron Cat filters easily and removes an electrical item from an already electrically challenged truck before this I had a Fass DRP, truck had a intermittent cough/splutter, sock was clean, don't look at FP now, fuel temps towing 5th wheel no higher than 120f on 1/2 tank and 110f on full tank
  3. Any codes ? Could be the sensor/sensor supply voltage/sensor earth or sensor signal. Take a look at the 2nd gen 24v articles on obd codes.
  4. I did think about metal detecting on Hadrians wall and specifically about something you said regarding ancient monastries on our trip last year to North Yorksire which btw is only 80 odd miles away from where we are now... narrowest part of England from coast to coast hence the wall to keep out the Beserkers from the elite Roman empire 2k years ago. ?on the truck and 5th. It is a challenge on our roads but wouldn't change a thing, got a nice tow tune and just got a @Me78569 stock injector tune on the quad and truck is good, a few things for thought on both truck and 5th namely trans on the truck and secure area outside of 5th for our dogs, one of which is an Old Tyme English Bulldog which is a recreation of an ancient bulldog bred to fight bulls which went extinct 200 or so years ago, soft as grease but not too bright, intelligence is not required when your sole purpose is to hang off of a bulls nose.. hence the secure area ?
  5. I'm on a slightly smaller tyre so that just must do it for my truck, stock injectors as far as I know though. Truck will go right down to sub 25mph and accelerate smoothly not as I pedal it at all as still on the made of chocolate transmission, one more thing on the list to sort out
  6. A lot of places like pubs and possibly the boat which is on lake Windmere are running at less than 50% capacity due to distance requirements set out by gov. We went to a pub yesterday only 1/2 mile from Housestead fort on the wall in a small village, we just got in for Sunday lunch, guy on the door checking temps and addresses for covid tracing, pub was empty but full to allowed capacity. Strange village really, just on one road but called Once Brewed from one direction and Twice Brewed from other direction, pub is called Twice Brewed and brews its own beer, several possible reasons why, the best I think is ..... There was a civil war here called The War of the Roses between Yorkshire and Lancashire, story goes that one side complained that their fighting beer was too weak so they brewed it twice before a large battle, it worked they won Been brewing beer on the site since the 15th/16th century
  7. A week ago we took a 200 mile trip to a camp ground in Cumbria, it's 8 mile from the English/ Scottish border, mostly motorway which is freeway to you guys, looked at Gretna Green last week which is in Scotland, do a search.... marriage rules changed in England but not in Scotland hence people ran away to Gretna. Took a look at lake Windemere where Donald Campbell died in Bluebird. Today we went to Hadrians wall which was built in the 1st century by the Romans as their furthest northern frontier stretching from Carlisle on the western coast to near Lindesfarne on the east coast, 80 Roman miles or 73 modern miles long, 15 feet high with forts and milehouses every mile for defence. It's not 15ft tall now though. Still got a week to go. Truck is ok but sprung a diesel leak on the head return line on the drivers side next to trans at a clip..... siliconed and pushed it back into the clip, it's a fractured steel line but it's not leaking now
  8. Or the cheapskate alternative like me... lockout OD and run in 3rd which means by about 30mph depending on pedal its in lockup anyway, I just downloaded a daily stock injector tune and tried it today, 3rd lockup is great... truck moves like a scolded cat but will go down to 25mph and accelerate smoothly with no egt problems at all and i've got OD and OD locked still to go. My tyres are around 33" +. difference in egts is considerable just by using 3rd more often
  9. I have 33 " tyres and 3.55. I tend to lockout od a lot as it's perfect for our 30mph limit and hold lockup, this runs nicely up to our next limit at 50, over 50 I just hit the od button, very low egts and rpm just right, lockup switch is a good mod to achieve this.
  10. When I bought my truck it had the block mounted fass pump, looked all good to me. Soon after a 10k lb plus bumper pull and this forum sorted that out, had coughs and very small misfires pulling hard trailer or not. That FASS is now on an Audi which has a vp which is smaller. Tank screen was OK. That pump is not enough from my experience. .. now on mechanical DTT from dap. ..all good now BUT I will add I use 2 micron filters so block fass may be good for others just not 2 micron Cat filters If I think what you are using for filters is correct thats a pre pump screen and not a filter. 150 micron screen is about sand particles or vp and injector killers. My truck had the same when I got it luckily just fitted before I got it
  11. If the bearing won't tap off then slit it with a slitting disc in a grinder, once you're nearly through use a chisel to finally split it, it will drop off and by not going all the way there is no chance of marking the bearing surface
  12. @Doubletrouble fitting a quad is easy. Load a pre done tune and my truck now is a pleasure to drive, trans is better also as it now changes much closer to our speed limits so 3rd locked is our 30 4th locked is our 50 and it holds gears better
  13. I fitted a quad late last year. Stock engine. 3.56 gear. auto. 33/34" tyre. I have zero time at the moment to build a tune. Used a free tune on here somewhere as a start, i'm that impressed It's still the one I use. Level 3 no WT due to stock auto. Just drove 200 mile to Cumbria yesterday towing our 5th which is close to Scottish border plenty of grades NO smoke, plenty of power, egt max around 1000, drop to 3rd locked around 800. Fuel temps around 100 pulling hard although I did notice fuel temps increasing a little as fuel level drops, due to less fuel in tank to dilute hot fuel from vp i'd say
  14. These trucks are so electrically challenged that I wouldn't introduce a thimble full of water anywhere inbetween both bumpers, I even drive around puddles ?
  15. I'd be concerned at 10 to 12 psi cruising and wot. I'm around 20 at 1800rpm ish on mechanical Assassin and thats through 2 micron filters
  16. Euro box parts stores only.... Thats what I thought but the drive lugs were badly worn and seal path scored at 160k
  17. Everything I read says the spec has to be mopar ps fluid I knew the spec number yesterday but I've now forgot it think it might be MS5931 and not atf 4 which is what was in the truck. MS5931 or whatever it is is not available here from parts stores, luckily found a specialist oil Co here that ships overnight
  18. No worries.. I tend to use Rockauto a lot as they ship really quick to the UK, I ordered Sunday afternoon and parcel arrived Wednesday morning, also there's a huge amount of companies in the USA that won't ship to the uk anyway. I needed a PS pump anyway, I'd got a ps kit from rock a month or so ago but on stripping it the drive tangs were badly worn and seal path grooved so decided to replace it I had seen the kit on here but as I said I needed a ps pump too and quick as i'm away with 5th wheel on the 18th I'll see if reusing old seal leaks if so i'll get a kit from you if you can ship to uk, i'll get a pic of the seal in the kit I got. It' can be hard running a ram in the uk.... I just spent a full day locating the correct ps fluid £35 for a uk gallon. Mopar stuff here is nearly £20 a litre so didn't jump on that
  19. Have you ran through the diagnostics for apps voltage high ? In OBDll in 24v articles.... sorry can't link on my phone or I'm too dumb to figure out how ☺ also did you check apps output with engine off ign on and then running to compare. Also now its total dead pedal is there different codes or still the same
  20. I've just had a vac pump seal kit and a steering pump from Rockauto, arrived in the UK in 3 days so really good service from Rock BUT the vac pump seal kit which is a Dorman 904335 has the most useless main seal in it to the point I'm going to reuse the old one as it is better, good job I didn't remove it from its carrier, the old one has the oil scraper lines in the seal area to move oil away from the lip, the one in the dorman kit is just a sharp lip and some of the lip is malformed, barely see able but oil would find it. £34 and the main seal is going in the bin Mopar kit is not a lot more... my own stupid fault
  21. If your friend has a newer SO scanner get it and check APPS through it's range using the live data function, apps voltages should change smoothly up and down in relation to pedal with no hiccups, when mine failed it was very intermittant and would be fine for days then really have a fit, wasn't very old... fitted by PO and of course made in ..... china. If it is APPS get a timbo off of this site, I didn't as I didn't know about this forum then
  22. I have to say Mike that is one big bumper pull, mine was smaller (a little) truck is short bed and tail wagging the dog with no WDH, our roads here are not good for a bumper pull
  23. I'd be giving @dieselautopower a call. Vendor on here.
  24. Did you check for combustion gasses in coolant. 100% sure test.... if HG is leaking combustion gas into coolant the test kit will spot it, saves all the ...maybe... not sure..... and wasted time
  25. Coolant system will be pressurized to whatever psi it says on the cap... and 190 is ok if you have a 190 thermostat What is not ok is if the 2 conditions happen very fast..... ok if within normal warm up time Full to add in 5 years is ok... full to add in 5 days is a leak Can you borrow a coolant system pressure tester or a gas tester ? Gas tester checks for combustion gas in coolant system
