#1 fuel is a good option but I like running a blended fuel our local Holiday Stations blend the fuel so it is good to certian temps depending on the year. Also see if you can find any FPPF bio winter treat it is a great product it removes water and lowers the pour point.

Hey I live in Minnesota and it gets cold!! I have used the white PS and red PS I talked to a tech at PS and he said you can treat the white bottle on a 1oz to 1gal and if you have a mild water issue the 911 on a 1oz to 3gal. But personally I use FPPF bio winter treat, they have a very good prouduct that lowers pour point and removes water. Here it gets below 0 as highs and -30 for lows and I have never gelled (knock on wood) but I don't think you guys should worry so much about your cold weather just change your fuel filter and be prepared always run a additive especially when you know its going to get cold:thumb1:

Wipers
To clean the wipers the trico exact fit wipers came with a little packet with a wet wipe soaked in rubbing alcohol this cleans the wipers great also sometimes the windshield gets a buildup of wax and road spray you can't see so you need to buff the windshield, what works the best is take a fine steel wool and lightly moisten the windshield and just buff it like you would wax the paint it works great.

Brake woes
Hey sorry to here your frustrations with NAPA!! I manage my parents NAPA and we don't opperate like that I did check the #'s you posted and they look correct the only thing I could think of is if the rotor was not machined right the rotor should have a 1.29" thickness when new so if you have a micrometer you could check it. Also I have run into when you depress the piston on the caliper crack the bleeder, see the caliper is the lowest part of your brake system and that is where you will find most of the debries so when you crack the bleeder it will remove most of this. GOOD LUCK and hope you don't hate NAPA!!

Hub Bearings
Hey good call on the good NAPA Skf bearings they are made with oem spec brgs and oem sensors I am a NAPA manager and my rep told me the good brgs are made to excede 100k+ and the cheapys are made to make 25k. I can tell you this I have alot of customers that would buy NAPAs cheaper brg before alot of our compeditors brgs. Hope they work great for you!!

engine oil 15w40 or 10w30 (winter)
I think synthetic is better for the cold like AH64ID said the syn have a good pour point I see some similar temps hear not quite as cold but have seen -29f here and the syns will work alot better for you. Also Valvoline Extreme Premium Blue 5w 40 has the Cummins logo on the pakage and might be easier to get your hands on.

best fuel filter
Now not always is the data online the correct data did you get your info directly from a tech because I have ran into times where they had the wrong info on the website. I am not trying to argue but it pays for me to know and when I have questions I genrally get my answers from the experts or tech guys and if I am not getting the correct answers my costomers need to know!! I appreciat the info!!

Weight Bar
Hey guys sitting here freezing, thinking about summer and truck pulling. Wondering if there are any good suggestions for a front weight ballast on the 2nd gen trucks, something that can handle 1500lbs and be removed from the truck. Thanks!

Wheel bearings
Yeh I am not saying the china ones are bad but you do get what you pay for when you buy the premium bearings.
-
Wheel bearings
Yes thier is a differnce between a cheap china brg and a good oem spec brg. My brg rep (yes he reps our SKF premium and cheap china ones) said the good SKF uses all oem quality bearings and sensors in fact SKF builds most oem brgs. He also said that the premium brg is designed to go 100K plus miles and most of the cheapys are designed to go 25K. As for the sealed hub brgs are used in 4wd applications and the brg race combos are 2wd apps.

Wheel bearings
No it looks like the 98-99 w/abs were by them selfs 00-02 are differnt. if you wanted to save $ you may be able to use the non abs ones but your abs light might stay on and obviously not work tuesday I will be back at work and check it out for you.

Wheel bearings

Track Bar Question
Hey guys I manage a NAPA and our better track bar#272-4229 is a great bar lifetime warranty they say it is a solid spherical bearing not a gusher bearing like moog and we dont have many warrantys not saying the others are bad but NAPA's are usally right around the corner no shipping I think the $ is around $200 give or take.

front axle u joints
Hey I manage a NAPA and we sell the Precision joints they are a good made in the USA joint. Also at a sales metting once I talked to a chassis parts engineer and he said that a factory lubed and sealed product is by far better thay one you have to lube for the reason of over lubing but he said that they tried to remove the fittings on the tie rods and ball joints and the techs would not buy them becase they were not greaseable so they put them back on. P.S. I just looked them joints up the regular good joint is a #374 and the super strength #270 both are greasable and both are a very good made in USA joint.

Winter Front
yes they are a safety valve so if the t-stat sticks it will not overheat. a good rule of thumb is put your t-stat in a kettle on the stove and put a thermometer in it and see where or if the stat opens it should be easy to see then you know before putting it in the truck
