Tire recommendations
@Evan i do too but i dont like the wheel bearing and front end problems that go with them. 265 being a stock size is as big as i think I'll go. 305's on some 10's do look good though. My 98 (64k miles!) shop truck has 285/75-16 and they look huge compared to mine.

Banks exhaust brake
@IBMobile im trying but this is a guy that used a flip phone up until 2 months ago. Hes scared of the internet. Big brother is watching. @dripley what I've heard from them and others convinced me not to buy banks products. Customer service is important part of business. I think how you treat a person after the sale says a lot you. I quit doing business with people because of how they have treated friends.

Banks exhaust brake
I have 2 friends that have nothing but bad to say about banks customer service but swear by the parts. One of them has a brake on his I'll talk to him about it. Told him about this site but he hasn't signed up yet.

Tire recommendations
@Evan looks good. Wish mine was a long box. Mine had 245's on it when i bought it and they looked wrong. Run 265-75-16 going to 265/70-17 sooner or later.

More turbo questions
Found a holset housing with 3521934-02 E4 16 casting number and 18 stamped in runner no wastegate. Think its from a h1c. Something like this work on a 24valve with rv275 injectors?

More turbo questions
@Dieselfuture I've heard that before. This thing was seized tight. Took about 2 hours to get it to move at all. Still can't move it by hand have to use vice grips on the lever but its soaking now. I'm working it around once an hour for as long as it takes. I need more info on trans mods needed to prevent damage. Heard exhaust brakes were hard on autos but have no experience with one. I have onboard air system and a spare cylinder that may work if the vacuum cylinder is bad. I'm sure i can fab up something.

More turbo questions
@Tractorman @Doubletrouble thanks. It soaked in silikroil overnight. Heated with a propane torch, sprayed down, cooled. Repeat. Finally got it moving but its not free yet but it will get there i think. Taking to work to soak in carb cleaner and evaporust. Besides maxing out trans line pressure and a lockup switch what needs to be done to a 47re to safely use an exhaust brake?

Vacuum cylinder works and holds vacuum. Got the butterfly to move but its not free yet. Anyone run one of these that can provide some insight on getting it working?

Hy35 to hx35 swap
Blocked the wastegate for a quick run today. Pulled 30 psi pretty easy. First impression is my egts went up. Before the swap, on my drive to work, cruise set at 70 id see 690-750. Will be watching it this week.

Hy35 to hx35 swap
Today i swapped my hy35 for a hx35. With the hy i was getting 27-28 psi max boost. After the hx35 swap I'm barely hitting 20 psi. I have a restricted boost fitting in it. No other changes were made to the truck. Does this seem about right or does the boost sound low? Ran out of time for any other checks today.

More turbo questions
I did some trading today and got a hx35 with a pacbrake exhaust flange and cylinder. Said it was from a 96 3500 with 120k. Can't feel any shaft play at all and spins free. Theres no spot on the compressor housing for a boost elbow. The butterfly is stuck and i haven't tested the cylinder yet, its vacuum. If i can get this thing freed up what all will i have to do to put it on the truck? I think i found the right install manual but haven't had time to really get into it.

Timing regarding cetane number
@dripley correct. 1/8" pipe will screw into the hole but it is not right. I would not trust it at all. I wanted a m10 to 4an fitting but Parker didn't have it on the shelf and I'm impatient. Used that fitting which is m10 male to 1/8" female pipe with 1/8" pipe male to 4an male adapter and its leak free. I was wondering why you didn't remember that. Thought maybe i mixed you up with someone else.

Timing regarding cetane number
@Southpole560 @dripley the plug is NOT 1/4" it is a metric straight thread that seals with an o ring. I hsd a hard time finding the right adapter to go to 1/8" pipe and posted the thread size and Parker part number on here somewhere. I'll try to find it and post a link. M10x1.0 thread. Part number listed is for m10 to 1/8" pipe. I used a 1/8 to 4an fitting to a braided hose to mount my oil pressure sender. Its electric and does not ground through the threads. I used a hose to keep the sender away from all the vibration might help it live longer

Hx-hy35 turbo questions
I was told that the exhaust housings on the hx35 and hy35 turbos are the same and the exhaust wheels are the same. Is that true? I thought they were different. I think im correct in thinking that the exhaust flange thats held on with 5 bolts is the same but want to verify that also. The used hx35 i bought had a broken bolt that was kicking my butt but i finally got it out today. Now I'm just waiting on gaskets and time to do the swap Also, looking at the flange that bolts to the manifold there is a huge mismatch in the ports and gasket. Is there any benefit in gasket matching the turbo housing and manifold? Any draw backs? My signature has everything about the truck now. The racer in me says gasket match while its apart but will that help or hurt spooling the turbo? Will it help EGT any?

Productive day
@hdpwipmonkey if you get a set and have a router i would not pay someone to do it. You can do all 5 in less than an hour. I would also find painted wheels. Cleaning up the chrome wheels sucks.

Milling them with a router was surprisingly easy. Had to buy a bit that was $24 from Lowe's. 1st time i ever used my router too. Read about doing that on another Dodge forum when i was looking into the Hummer wheels. I never would have thought to try it.

Tire recommendations
Buddy owns a tire store. Some kind of promo thing and he said he'd sell at cost. He owes me a couple favors so I'm jumping on it. Toyo and Yoko would be a lot more $$$. Thats carry out too. Ill have to mount and balance.

Tire recommendations
After way too much reading on tires i think I'll go with the Falken Wild Peak. I can get 5 tires for $400 and can probably sell my BFG's and break even. Only 4 more wheels to finish 1st. Anyone need 4 BFG 265/75-16 load E with about 8,000 miles and a 5th non match for the spare? Mounted ready to go.

As long as they're not chrome plated! I think if these were painted I'd have 3 done by now. I did now want chrome just because of the work involved to do this but i couldn't pass up 5 wheels for $125. If the chrome wasnt flaking off i would have blasted and cleared them. It had a cool matte silver/bronze color that i kinda liked. I'll get a pic of the next one.
