It worked on 2 and 3 when power bar was green. Now it will kick on when its red. Was it not supposed to work on pl other than 0?

If this is in the wrong place sorry, please move. @Mopar1973Man @Me78569 @dieselautopower Quadzilla Adrenaline V2 has started kicking on high idle when its past the set point of 160°. Engine temp on Quad and autometer both show 180+ and it will turn on. If i turn off high idle in settings it does stop it from turning on. This started out of nowhere about 3 days ago. I left it off overnight and it worked correctly for 1 drive then this morning started doing it again. It has also started displaying the wrong gear. Driving with shifter in D it will show 1,2,3,4. As i come to a complete stop it shows 4,3,2,1,3,4,L. Shows L until i start moving again. In P,N,R it shows L. It was always pretty accurate before 1-1 1/2 weeks ago. I reset the vehicle selected and reset all settings with no change. I had made no changes to anything on the Quad before these issues came up. Would reflashing the Quad help? Can i do this myself?

Follow up: Can't say enough good about Jon @Dynamic and his customer service. I knew i had some issues i needed to fix before i called him but he saw the above post and called me Sat morning. Talked to him for about 30 minutes. Great guy to do business with. I had forgotten when i 1st got the truck the plastic end on the TV cable was broken. I cut the ball off the cable, replaced the end that hooks onto the engine and crimped on a new ferrule. My cable is now 3/16" or so shorter than factory length. Took Jons advice and bent the bracket on the trans. Was able to do a WOT run this morning and it shifted at 2700. Ill adjust and try it again this afternoon. As far as the Quad goes its still acting stupid. Kicked on high idle at 189 engine temp this morning and gear indicator is still screwed up but thats something for a different post.

Yeah it hits hard. Normal driving 1800-2000 shift, 75% throttle 2500 or so.

I do not think its anything to do with the new valve body. I'm tagging @Dynamic in this for advice. I have not talked to him about this yet today. When i come to a stop i can feel it downshift into 1st pretty hard. It feels like pulling the shifter into manual 1st (L). Quad shows 4-3-2-1 as im stopping. The 2-1 downshift is solid like i pulled it into manual 1st. After im completely stopped Quad shows 1-3-4-L. When i start moving L changes to 1. Runs thru upshifts pretty much normal at light to moderate throttle. WOT will not shift 1-2 until i lift. When in P R or N Quad shows L. It was always accurate before this issue. It started doing this with the old valve body. I thought it might be an issue with the stock VB and used it as an excuse to get one from Jon. I do not beat on this truck and had never done a WOT run until after the Dynamic VB swap to adjust the TV cable. I have something going on inside the trans. Just have to do some research and pull it i guess.

Turned it off and on a bunch of times yesterday. Left it off over night. Turned it on when i got to work this am and it didn't do it.

Got it in but im having issues. Quad is acting stupid and kicking on high idle thats set at 160 at 190. Never had an issue with it until now. Trans wont shift right. WOT its hitting 3200 and wont up shift till i lift. TV cable is adjusted as loose as it will go. Done for tonight ill call Jon tomorrow.

@Dieselfuture wife or kid. Just picked up 2 trans filters so now I'll have a spare. Might leave work early and go do this. Need to rotate tires today too before the rain come in tomorrow. Have 1 more car i have to get out today then the next couple are projects so won't hurt them to sit. Wonder how much power a stock trans and converter with the Dynamic VB will take?

Came home from work today to find my new Dynamic valve body sitting on the table. Forgot to pick up a new filter so I'll have to wait until tomorrow to put it in.

Paint time
I know what you mean. Prep is very tedious. I have no place to paint here or i would do it myself. The 1 place i could paint is off limits right now because of my buddy's health issues and the Wuhan. Hes on his 3rd bone marrow transplant and I'm not going anywhere near him for awhile.

Paint time
Taking all my loose parts to the paint shop Friday. Have both driver side doors, 2 fenders, bed and tailgate and maybe the tonneau cover to get sprayed. The shop we use at work is slow right now so might as well take advantage of it and replace all the rusty and dented parts. Just have to get everything removed so the parts are bare and pressure wash them.

They make aluminum and steel bolts. Use steel and you shouldn't have a problem with it snapping off unless you really over torque it.

@gimmie11s a relay won't slow it down. A standard Bosch style relay switches in milliseconds and you'll never notice it. A relay will protect the ecm from excessive current draw thats why its used. I would not hook to pin 20 without a relay. Pin 20 will give a slight delay between closed throttle and the command for brake operation. On my truck it was about 1.5 seconds. Works fine for me.

Quad showing manual low
I'm having an issue and hope someone can help me understand how the Quad determines what gear the truck is in. I made a vacuum solenoid thing to jack up line pressure when the exhaust brake is on. When the exhaust brake is on it pulls the TV lever back to increase line pressure. Tried it out once. I have since disconnected it but now when i stop with shifter in "D" Quad shows "L". Take off from a stop and Quad shows something like L-3-4-3-1-2-3-4. It felt once like it did a 2nd gear start but only did it 1 time. Now it feels like it is shifting correctly but Quads gear indicator is all over the place. In park, neutral, and reverse Quad shows "L" I checked line pressure and its 58 at 1000 rpm TV closed, 98 TV maxed in manual 1 and 2 and about the same in D at 1500 rpm. Before this Quad showed correct gear. @Me78569 any ideas?

@gimmie11s i wondered about the hole size but never got around to looking into it. Makes sense what you're saying. I know the Pacbrake instructions i downloaded that covered the 12 valves said DO NOT USE WITHOUT UPGRADING THE EXHAUST SPRINGS. SEVERE ENGINE DAMAGE WILL OCCUR. Their caps not mine. I did read a little about hole size online but did not research it enough. Wanna swap butterflies? And for some reason the 1st 2 pics didn't work for me.

@gimmie11s good score. Yes it will work but they changed the throttle switch from one that mounts underhood to one that mounts inside on the gas pedal. Im sure you could make it work easy enough because all it has to do is close the switch at idle and open it as soon as the throttle moves. Download the pdf that i linked. Its the updated instructions. Can you get a good clear up close pic of the vacuum solenoid please? Id like to see the numbers on that one. My brake works fine. The vacuum valve to jack up line pressure, not so much. I screwed something up and i think its in the valve body. Don't try it. Haven't had time to check it out yet but i just ordered a Dynamic valve body the day before i hurt it so I'll probably just park it until it gets here.

Thats true and may happen. Was just trying to find out if anyone had any real info on egt drop with the 4" mostly.

Talked myself out of the exhaust. Talked to Jon at Dynamic today and think its valve body time. Been putting it off long enough. Time to part with some side job money. 4" exhaust may come in the future but i really should spend the money to make the truck stronger. Thanks for the input.
