Up to 70° tomorrow! Can't wait.
Got about 4" of wet heavy snow. Our mud dried up nicely, now back to square one. Sunny and 40s next two days so hopefully this will be all gone and the drying can begin..... again

Dana 80-Yoke & Seal Info
Well it looks like I'll have it done. No way I'd be able to do it in the driveway.

Dana 80-Yoke & Seal Info
Any and all info on this job would be welcome as I should do mine. Seeping right now but I'm sure dripping is not far off. Is that nut the one that is crazy tight? What did you use to remove and replace? Did you order the yoke from orielly also?

Own a bike? Post a pic, let's get started
I'm guessing it's just a hose or something. Don't think the radiator broke, but you never know. My problem is I wanted to just tear into it and see, but being under warranty, I didn't want to get warranty claim denied because I opened it up.

Need a sanity check.. changing careers
I'm the opposite. Was a heavy equipment operator for 30 years. Before that, various odd jobs out of highschool, import car mechanic, 5years, laborer, 3 years, truck driver, 1 year. Couldn't wait to reach retirement. Really enjoyed heavy equipment, but as soon as I was eligible for full pension, I jumped. That was 2018. I was 60. At 62 I took my early SS. I love not having to get everything done on Sunday because I worked six days a week. I absolutely love the freedom to get on the bike and go whenever I want, or go out to lunch with my wife. For me, I'm the happiest and most worry free relaxed I've ever been since highschool.

Own a bike? Post a pic, let's get started
Was going to get all the Chrome powder coated black on the trike. First load was all the little stuff. Got that back and started really tearing it down to get forks, handlebars, engine chrome, crash bar, all the big stuff off. Got fairing and gas tank off and was going to start in the crash bar AND I FIND AN ANTI FREEZE LEAK! The engine has liquid cooled heads and the radiators are in the lowers, mounted to the crash bar. One is leaking. Putting bike back together to take it in for warranty. Just great.....

Question
None of them are who I saw. I searched here using different search words, but came up empty. Don't know why that name triggered something in my mind. Maybe it was just the fact that it was a Ram Cummins pulling the gooseneck flatbed that did it. IDK. I thought there was someone here years ago that hotshoted and went by blue angel. Sorry to waste anybody's time with my faulty mind.

Question
Was there someone here that has a transport company called Blue Angel Transport? The name rings a bell with me but I can't remember why. I think it was here, but I'm probably completely wrong. Saw the truck and flatbed in Spring Grove, Illinois today and it's making me crazy trying to remember.

Winter weather - What do you see where your at?
That's crazy cold.... Guess there was a storm last night that wasn't showing on radar when I looked. Went to bed around 10:30 with only about an inch for the whole evening when they said 4-6 by midnight...... woke up to about 5". Guess it's only February, but I want to be done with this.

Xotic vs ARP Head Studs
Are arp studs overpriced? Maybe. It takes money to pay people to answer phones and handle customers questions. Are xotic studs just as good as arp? I don't know. Maybe. Perhaps they cut their overhead to bare minimum and pass the savings on to the consumer. I don't know. You're right, they're not cutting edge tech but they are important. I've learned from others myself, but I'm the one having to redo a job if a less expensive part fails and a job that big isn't one I'd like to have to do over. I have no horse in this race. I was just expressing my thoughts on the OPs inability to contact a company. His contact was terminated when he asked questions. It's everyone's own choice who to do business with. I just don't let price drive my decision anymore, but that's just me.

Xotic vs ARP Head Studs
Seems to be alot of good reviews, but with the secrecy of the company.... don't know if I believe them. Like I said, important part that isn't all that simple to install. At 63, I've done the save a buck, best price thing many times. Didn't always work out. Now I look at stuff differently. Hate redoing something just because I thought with my wallet.

They were calling for the same here, but it looks like the storm is staying south. Fine with me.😁😁😁

Xotic vs ARP Head Studs
I agree with the OP. A company may be fine and produce a good product, but customer service and the ability to actually talk to someone for answers or problems makes a difference to me. Maybe not so much on lesser cost items, but on costly and highly involved installation parts, customer service and availability are the tipping point for me.

Been raining pretty good here all day. Temps hovering near the freezing mark. Supposed to drop this afternoon and make things interesting.

I'm surprised they survive the jarring. Are they mounted to the axel?

My 2016 Yamaha Star Stryker
Me n my brother tried to get my Hayabusa into my house one late night....up six steps...... If it weren't for the neighbor checking out what all the commotion was about, we never would have gotten it back down the steps.... "Missed it by THAT much".....(Don Adams in Get Smart)

Need to add 2nd battery back..
Yep, learned the oil trick here, along with everything else I know about my truck....👍👍👍 My cable ends were really bad. When I cut them off the cable itself looked black, so I decided to change it all.

Need to add 2nd battery back..
Here's a pic of my passenger battery. Yellow connector is ground for air horn pump. Next to that is a ground to inner fender. Attached just in front of air intake hole. Opposite of those is a factory double ground. One went over the radiator and was cut off when W-T mod was done. I left the pigtail taped up in case I needed a future ground. The other runs along the fender to the loom where the PCM connections are. Don't know where it goes from there. The main ground is bolted to the block just rear of where the turbo drain goes into engine. There is a threaded hole for it. Positive side is the crossover to driver's battery, which is now the only thing going over my radiator now. The red wire is power for air horn pump. Other wire is fused feed from alternator.

Too bad he cut off the pony tail....😂😂

Need to add 2nd battery back..
The charging is controlled by the PCM on the passenger side firewall. When you get ready to add your battery, or even before, you should do the W-T ground mod and the PCM fuse mod. There should be dedicated articles on how to in the article section. Also, when you put your second battery in, they are connected in parallel, not series. You may already know this, but I'd rather give too much info rather than have you hurt something. Did all the wiring for the second battery get removed, or is it still there?

Need to add 2nd battery back..
Bought 20' of cable, 50-50 black red. Battery to battery took a little more than half, but still had enough for battery to starter. Both grounds from battery to block only used about half of black cable. If you order those military type battery clamps, be aware, there are five each neg/pos. Positive has the bigger post. Just something to pay attention to when building the cables.

That's something I just can't enjoy on a bike. The radio. When I get on my bike, it's my escape. Alot of people like it and that's fine, I'm just not one of them. It's funny because I can't stand being in a vehicle without the radio playing. I have issues.....😂😂😂 By the way, congrats to him on the new bike. They are going to love it and wonder why they didn't do it sooner.
