Olympics
Any interest? In my younger days I used to enjoy the summer/winter games. Now, I really don't care. I lost interest when politics started showing up on the podium from the athletes. It's bad enough when countries try to use the Olympics as a political statement, (U.S. boycott on Russia) but when the athletes use it for their political views, it cheapens it to the point of me not caring. The Olympics to me should be for athletes doing the best humanly possible in competition against other athletes from around the world. Politics be Damned! Just my opinion, what's yours?

Surging while driving
W-T, thank you for your excellent explanations of our electrical situations. It's written in a college professor style that I actually can understand, and I understand zip when it comes to electrical issues.

Is it a common thing happening? Kidnapped? Lost in the woods? Alzheimer's? Or a combination of reasons?

Never had or seen a disassembled turbo....yet. I have a question. I see in both pics, brass bushings. Are these what's referred to as bearings in a turbo? I've read about the bearings being bad and thought there were actually bearings.

Hmmm, more confusion, great. I'm already bald so I guess the only thing left is my sanity, which is questionable at best. When I pull the trigger on a quad, it's gonna be interesting 🤔🤔🤔😳

Dreaded P0216 code, help/advice
Imagine how long things would last if it wasn't for the bean counters trying to save a penny here or a penny there....or even less..... Wait, I think it was called the 30s-50s......

Exactly what I was going to say. You can just clean it real good with brake cleaner and cover with JB. Let it cure for 24 hrs or whatever it says on the tube. If it's awkward getting in there, take it off and then you can get at it with a Dremel or just sandpaper and REALLY clean it good. I think JB will work but it is cracked and the structural integrity is compromised. Check some local junk yards and see if you can find a replacement. With all that said, I think JB weld will fix this problem.

Dreaded P0216 code, help/advice
Very interesting and well done testing. I have a question. Back when our trucks were new, Dodge had enough warranty claims on failed VPs to move the lift pump from the engine (I think) to in the tank. There were still enough failures that airdog, FASS and other high gph pumps were brought to market. Granted, if the lift pump dies, it's not good for the VP, but my question is, we're the VPs failing back in the day from lift pump failure or did the VPs get updated with better materials to increase longevity about the same time the aftermarket pumps were coming to market, making for a coincidental belief that more pressure was the answer? If the VP was updated with better materials, could they last with the cheaper lift pumps that Dodge put in the tank for their "fix" of the problem? Woulda, Shoulda, Coulda...... Very interesting discussion.......

What tractorman says makes complete sense. It will relieve a bit of worry if I see pressure below 14. As long as the VP has positive pressure delivered to it, it is producing it's own higher pressure to keep fuel flowing through the return line, if I'm reading that right. Personally, I'll keep my pressure between 14-20 just because, but it's reassuring to know if it drops a bit lower my VP isn't in self destruct mode.... Thank you.👍👍👍

AirDog 150 Making 20psi
Are you saying the 20 lbs and fluctuating is with the new spring? Did you replace the ball too? Maybe it has irregularities to it. 20 is at the upper limit. Don't want to go much over that to avoid damage to the seal on the VP.

Another hard start/loss of prime
Nope, gotta lift it. I bought heavy duty ramps to make it easier. Last place that serviced it cranked the cap on the fuel filter on the frame under the driver door and broke the o-ring. Didn't have any way to lift it then so I shimmied under there in FIL driveway and got it fixed. Got under, but couldn't get out because I had to go past my ribs with the step on my stomach. I finally said back to the rear tire and was able to get out, but it was a worrisome bit of time......lol

Cigarette lighter power intermittent
I installed one of those in each of my trucks when you posted your install awhile ago. They are really nice. Going to put one on the Harley too.

Another hard start/loss of prime
That's how it comes. There are aftermarket caps available, but many are sized wrong. Same with the filters. There are aftermarket ones cheaper, but the slightest difference can cause poor filtering or even a no start condition. It's an incredibly finicky engine. Huge part of me wishes my FIL wouldn't have "blessed" us with this truck, but I'm happy to have it.

Winter weather - What do you see where your at?
I read the posts when you were driving your mom back and forth. That was a heck of a burden I'm sure, but one you did without question. My hat is off to you. I'm sure you had other wants and desires out of life, but family first. As much as I might complain about not being able to do what I want, I truly have no problem staying here taking care of our moms. Her's has been in her home for 31 years. Mine has been in hers for 58. They ain't moving.....lol

Cigarette lighter power intermittent
Has to be either a loose/weak supply or ground. Time to trace, test and verify connection of wires involved. Intermittent electrical problems are the worst. You could fix the problem by just checking connections and not even know it or find an obvious problem.

Winter weather - What do you see where your at?
I am so sick of winter. Keep trying to convince my wife to move to warmer weather. She's all for it but not until our mom's are gone. Both our dad's died within 5 months of each other. Her and I are the only ones in both families that regularly check on and help them. So here I sit, cold and cranky.....lol

Another hard start/loss of prime
Can you say Ford 6.0 fuel and oil filter caps. Torque them down to spec and I swear they tighten another half turn. I get nervous every time I have to change those filters because of how hard I have to hit the breaker bar to get them to snap loose. Not every time, but when it happens......😲😲😲😲 They are made of some kind of plastic resin stuff which is what causes me stress.
