  1. Awesome. I need to pull the starter. Theres a shop in the springs for alternators and starters if i cant free it up. Then the plan is to going to auto hobby shop to pull the pan, then the enema will commence... along with the fuel lines, filter, etc. Ill let you know.
  2. Thanks to Nick, we got it running today. New fuel pump and running out of a gas can, but it started right up. It needs a new starter and the engine is FULL of some really nasty sludge. However, the trans works, it charges, and it should be on the road soon. A couple taps on the carb was all it took to free the stuck float, and even the accelerator pump works. Im planning on flushing the engine with some snake oil and multiple oil changes. After that, mabe pickling the cylinders to try to get the rings clean.
  3. Thanks for your understanding Beren. Luthien appreciates it, I am sure. Like mentioned above, the information is out there. However, unless you really want to do a bunch of work splicing or tracking down OEM connectors and the other components, it really isn't worth it to DIY. The sales of the switch keep the lights on here... and I am 99% sure that without the switch sales this site, all articles, and downloads would have been taken down by now.
  4. Visions of dynamics flash through my head.
  5. Just buy a cheap set that has the sizes you need. Bent vs straight isnt significant.
  6. Everything should be 12v... Are you seeing something over 14.3 or so (approximate charging voltage)?
  7. That's a stout load.
  8. I had my Aluminum one shortened and balanced by Bills. He is great.
  9. The ultimate heater would be a Webasto. We used these on big V12 Cats in remote well off grid locations. It is a diesel fueled coolant heater. https://www.webasto.com/us/markets-products/light-duty-vehicles/genuine-webasto/
  10. Thats a compressed air starter... And those are awesome. However, I am talking a bypass of his turbos, for straight 90 psi air on initial crank! Think Boost Caboose from the Roadkill thats gonna air tomorrow!
  11. I vote compressed air and lots of big flapper check valves and plumbing.
  12. I agree with this assessment. Your droplet size has to be huge. Aren't you also running lower compression pistons? My magic rube fix? A huge compressed air tank in the bed, and start the engine on straight 90psi compressed air! You can fill the tank from a bleed line going from the turbos to the tank with a check valve.
  13. Any thoughts on this? Somebody was running this here... http://opti-lube.com/diesel-fuel-improver-xl.html I have also tried the amsoil stuff.
  14. I like tractor sounds. I like car sounds. 4bt is not in the cars future!
  15. How did the ball joints look?
  16. Haha. No. I dont know what the long term plan is. We should meet up for it at some point. @Mopar1973Man I may need help wiring up a high idle switch for it!
  17. Golden Super Cruise next summer...
  18. As awesome as the PW is, I found something i like better for less! My grail c body cars are 60-61 chrysler and 66 chrysler 300. Very clean car, 1 owner, 383RB 2bbl, push button auto. The only rust is in the trunk floor, even the fenders and trunk extensions are clean. Best yet, it runs! It needs a thorough once over before being driven, but everything works! Not bad for 2500 bucks! I hope to put a megasquirt tbi efi system on it, recover the seats, new exhaust and drive it!
  19. I didn't have any issues with them. Great service all the way. I would use them again. I did end up getting it shortened for the D70-80 swap I did, and found a great local shop that probably could have come in a bit cheaper as I could have reused my old yoke and no shipping.
  20. Mine was 720 shipped from driveshaft specialties in tx. I could have done better locally, but i was living out of state at the time.
  21. My broken d70 has the same 1410 joints as my d80.
  22. I am not currently running a dampener either.
  23. What ya gonna do with the old horn?
  24. Well... turns out it is all original, uncut, comes with all 6 white original wheels, almost no rust (some on tailgate), and was a factory power steering truck. It has a manual box in now, but the original PS parts come with it and need rebuilt. 4.11 gears as well... also has new exhaust from manifolds back. I dont want to spend the money, but i really like the thing. I am going to think on it.
