Hey Canucks………any Truth To This?
- Anybody Do Any Hunting?
May hit you up on some pheasant or snow goose hunting!!! Thanks man!!! Good manners, courtesy, and respect go a long way!!- Anybody Do Any Hunting?
I've been going to NoDak since '99. I've gotten to know quite a few farmers/ranchers out there. We're on a first name basis with many, although we often call them Mr. and Mrs SoAndSo. The land that I have access to hunt has been gotten by knocking on doors and forming a personal relationship with the owners. The simple fact of us knocking on a new door and giving "local" references about our courtesy and respect goes a long way up there. We try to pick up all spent hulls, close all gates, and not make ruts in fields or lanes. We'll also offer some of our "kill" (cleaned of course) to them, but usually they prefer a "bottle" of some sort. One of my Buds I go to NoDak with lives in KY……………he'll usually bring up 4-5 bottles of select bourbon to give to land owners as "gifts" for letting us hunt their property. Them bottles go a long way in helping them remember us year after year.- Dripley Is Busy Now...
They are on my list of go to restaurants. Just for the simple fact that they take a stand for what they believe in; and aren't gonna let some publicity seeking, bullying asshat, Liberal, Democrat politicians dictate the way they run their business!!- 2014 Deep Freeze
The neighbor lady across my street has asked numerous times; "Don't you have enough wood yet?", since I've started heating with wood. She's a very attractive lady, about 5-10 years older than myself; so me being the smart dupa that I am, always reply……………"That's kind of a personal question, don't you think?" The prior 2 winters around here, weren't really "winter" at all. Still I was scrounging wood, splitting and stacking it because it's a good thing to get ahead on your wood supply. Especially if you're burning "hard woods". Oak, mulberry, osage, elm, and a few other require 2-3 years of drying/seasoning. Whilst other woods such as soft maple, ash, box elder, poplar, aspen, birch will "season" in less than 6 months if split and stacked in an airy, sunny spot. I've got a pile of split maple and box elder in my front yard that I've not been able to stack yet because of the snow we've gotten this year so far. So I keep cutting, hauling, splitting and piling everything in my front yard. Got a stack about 4-5 feet high and 10-12 feet in diameter now sitting in my front yard. One of my best buds has me on a spot where there are numerous trees down, and I can cut and haul from there as I please. I've burned just under 2 full cords of wood so far this year. I dunno about y'all, but I find cutting, splitting and stacking wood relaxing. Yes, it's work, but it's work that I don't mind doing. Rancherman……………..you need to be cutting, bucking, splitting more. Nebraska gets and stays cold………….and there's nothing to stop the wind. But you know that…………..take care.- Nasty Vehicle Accident
Did he "lose the brakes" and then "ride the rail" in attempt to slow and control the truck??!!- Planning A Trip To Chitcago?
If I can avoid it; I'll hopefully never fly again. I don't get air sick or anything like that, but the last few times I've flown, I did get that claustrophobic/panic attack feeling. It didn't help that the pilot did a "touch and go" in Salt Lake City when I was coming back home from Montana 6-7 years ago. That, coupled with the fact that I choose not to freely surrender my 4th Amendment rights just to fly somewhere leave me driving everywhere from now on.- Alaska Weather!

When I went to "horseshoeing school" back in '89, there was a fellow in class from Alaska. He was a former computer guy from North Dakota, I believe…………….but he sold everything and moved the wife and kids to Alaska to live off the land. He was going to horseshoeing school to learn to trim/shoe his horses to plow with etc. Long story short……………He gets a call one day at the school. It's his wife calling to ask what she should do about the car as she's driving to work in -80*F temps. She would stop, and the engine temp gauge would slowly rise back to normal range. When she'd start driving again the engine temp would drop. Warm in Alaska………..bitterly cold in the lower 48. Cold in Alaska………….milder in the lower 48.- Planning A Trip To Chitcago?
This was a JFYI thread!!! I wouldn't want, expect, or invite any member here to come to Chitcago and risk their lives………………..for various reasons…………………………but now there's blood-sucking bed-bugs to take into account even if you make it back to your hotel room safely!!!!- Doordinger

Door open or closed?? My '04.5 will ding with the key all the way into the ignition (truck not running) and drivers door open. It will not ding with the key pulled slightly out (not seated) of the ignition and drivers door open.- What To Use In Sub Zero Temps..
When I ran synthetic in my '99, it helped cold starts hugely. Both plugged in and not plugged in. That was the only advantage I could see/hear though. That said, where is this trip gonna be going to? And for how long??? If'n you're going to a warm weather place for an extended time, I wouldn't bother with the synthetic oil. However, if'n you're coming back home only after a couple days, go with the synthetic because of the winter we're having and the cold starts you do at home.- Good Morning Idaho!
+23*F………………..after what many of us around the country have experienced this winter, that'd darn near be T-shirt weather for working outside!!!!- Hail Call, Ah64Id...….smarty Question
