Tires: Treadwright
Just my .02 cents here guys...............I run my Cooper Discoverer AT3's at 70psi front and back on my 3/4 ton '04.5. I'm too lazy to "air up" and then "air down" as I hitch and unhitch my work trailer daily. Prior to these tires I ran the OEM Michelins and the Cooper ATR's at 70psi front and back also. Got 81,000 miles on the Michelins and 74,000+ on the ATR's before the current Coopers. Almost 34,000 on the AT3's now..............and they have probably 65% of tread left.Since I've been driving, I've always run my tires "hard". Better mileage and less heat build up that way. IMNTBHO; if your tire is "properly" sized for your rim, you should be able to run "max" pressure without abnormal tire wear. I've done it for years!!! And "knock on wood", I've always had great tire life!!!

Frantz Filter Systems
Sorry that I missed this post Rogan.........but I'm answering now!! I bought my MotorGuard TP bypass oil filter directly from a man named Ralph Wood. He used to hang out all the time at http://www.bobistheoilguy.com. At the time it was a toss up between the MotorGuard and the Frantz. Ralph modified a few parts and put together the kit that I bought probably back in '06. Bought from him directly. Since then, the company that makes the unit (air filter housing) will not allow Ralph to buy/modify/sell their product for anything other than an "air-filter" for compressor units.

Gut convertor?
Been running 2 stroke oil in my '04.5 since '06...............almost "year to date"!!! Gonna go 188k on the clock probably tomorrow. Don't care what the "mods" on other sites say either!! Michael is the "MAN"!!!

...speaking of fords
That's why; since they ditched the 7.3, that they call the "shoulder of the road"..............The Ford Lane!!!!

Gut convertor?
Don't do it unless you live in a state that doesn't test.......or is likely to test in the near future. As W&F said; the kitty on 3rd gens is not "restrictive" at all. Just straight pipe it after the kitty or put a "free-flowing" straight thru muffler on and call it good. There are no performance gains by ditching the kitty.

Which "Free Spin Hub Kit" ???
Last 2 tanks on Mighty Whitey...........19.8 and 20.0mpg respectively. 623.xx and 644.xx mile on each tank. Filled up each time with 31.xx gallons.Overhead "Lie-O-Meter" read 24.6mpg and 25.1mpg for each tank at fill up. Same station, same procedure of fill-up.Today with 112.xx miles, with no "towing miles" on this tank...............Lie-O-Meter is reading 28.7!!!

Perfect Gal for Michael???
You're a "sick" individual!!! Which is prolly why I call you a friend!!!

200000 miles
Just under 188K on Mighty Whitey now!! 187,8xx to be exact. Last tank of fuel averaged out to 20.00mpg on the dot; with 637 miles on the tank of fuel!!!! About 2/5th's towing also.I'm a "happy camper" with those numbers!!!:2cents:Have a couple trips scheduled for the next month or so. One towing and the other non-towing. If both, or either, come to fruition, I'll post mileage figures for y'all.

I'll never forget this...
You sure got that right WaF about NoDak. Of the 20 trips I've made there over the years, the wind is always blowing hard out of the NW or West when we're traveling up there!!! I drove into 40+ sustained West winds going up only a couple years ago. Thank God we weren't driving up there during that wind storm last year that had 60+mph sustained winds with regular gusts to 80mph. I've only had a couple times where the wind actually "pushed" me home. I always seem to find a South wind for our drive home!!!???:banghead:

Perfect Gal for Michael???
Versus what??????????:banghead: Having painful bunions, calcium deposits, deformed toes and a sore back from wearing "fashionable" shoes all the time??? I'll bet she's got none of those self-imposed maladies. I'd like to see her "screaming beaver" chainsaw though!!!

used dodge ram with cummins......
You's guys seemed surprised by that!!??? Just saying.

Screaming Beavers
I tried that.........but with the gnarly, crooked wood I split, it's actually more stable this way. If I split nice straight grained wood that I could get nice, even square splits from..........yeah, it's a "no-brainer" for sure. Thanks though!!!!

Screaming Beavers
Just a few pix of my morning "wood" gathering !!!!:lol:Michael.........I still say you've got it easy bucking the wood that you do.This was almost 4 hours work this AM.As I said prior.............even my "straight" wood is "crooked"!!!!!
-
Chicken Pluckers anyone?
Most of the "hunt clubs" around my area use those devices on their pen raised pheasants, chuckars and ducks. Me personally, I "skin" all my wild birds vs. plucking...............and butcher them down from there. Ain't much "waste" on the birds I clean.

That's OK, he'll eventually figure it out and get a "Smarty"!!!

Is This Wood Worth Any Money?
Walnut is EXCELLENT firewood!! That said.............in order to burn properly in a modern wood burning stove, walnut needs to be CSS "cut, split, stacked" for at least 2 years because it's so "dense"!!! Otherwise, you're boiling water before you're burning wood.Michael may disagree, but he burns essentially all "soft-wood"!!Walnut, oak, mulberry, osage et.al., require 2-3 year of drying/seasoning time. Hardwood species like...........ash, box elder, soft maple, birch, and poplar will season in 6-8 months if CSS'd in a sunny and windy area.

Smarty owners
This^^^ They are VIN specific until returned to stock. They then can go from truck to truck.Make sure your buddys truck is a '04, and not an '04.5. The difference being the '04's are 305HP and 555ft.lbs. and the '04.5's are 325HP and 600ft.lbs. The Smartys that are for the '03-'04 will not work on the '04.5+years.

Screaming Beavers
Most of the hardwood I split with my Fiskars X25 splitting axe, splits easiest whilst wet, or fresh cut. Give it a few weeks after cutting, and it's a painus in the anus to split. This does not apply if I cut and split wood near 0* temps however.

New Injectors have increased the MPG's
I honestly don't know that last time I had my truck on a "stock" tune!!!!! I probably posted here abut it, but I'm not gonna do a "search" for it either. My truck is great running as is with great mileage also!!
