Modifying exhaust and intake means more HP, what about MPG's?
Stock intake is good to 450-500HP. You can "swiss cheese" the box or do what AH64ID did and add an intake elbow off the bottom of the box. You can also pull the baffles out out the corrugated section of the intake tube. You'll get more trubo whistle doing that. The biggest restriction on a stock truck is the OEM muffler. Ditch that for a straight thru model and call it good. The kitty doesn't restrict flow that much to worry about it. Leave it in case you move where they do testing. The best thing you can do for mileage is to put a raw egg under the throttle pedal...............and don't break it!!!!

Screaming Beavers
I've been lucky.............the box elder I've gotten dries out fast(less than 6months), splits easily(I hand split), and doesn't smell at all. Are you burning "wet" box elder wood???

BBI injectors from Smarty source?
What's so "special" about their injectors other than they are new???? Better than DDP or F1 injectors.................why/how????

Screaming Beavers
www.youtube.com/watch?v=zhyCL-ELRxg Nice score!!! Two next door neighbors have asked me if I want their trees when they have the "tree monkeys" come out to take the trees down for them.................one over the electric service, and the other hanging over the house. One is a big maple, and the other is a box elder. Both are close and free; save for my "sweat equity", so all is good. Told both neighbors to just have the guys drop the wood, and I'll cut and haul it away. Both trees are less than 100 feet from my wood stacks!!!!

New Injectors have increased the MPG's
With my Smarty Revo SO6, I get the best combo of mileage, power, and cooler EGT's on SW5 default settings. I tow a lot and SW7 and SW9 are smokey and warm!!!! You might try bumping that Smarty up to level 5 and do a mileage run similar to what you just did. You may be surprised!!!

Fuel Boss installed
Could you eliminate the Hobbs switch and OEM pump from the system???? I understand the convenience of priming the system after filter changes, but you could just turn the engine over no????

G56..........manual tranny guys!!!!!
I'm not an Amsoil proponent by any means.......just ask Michael!!! I hate their marketing. Only reason I use it in my '04.5 is that when I needed to change out the diffs, tranny and transfer case the first time (all which specify synthetic) Amsoil was actually cheaper than OEM fluids and Royal Purple at that time. It's worked just fine, and so I've not pursued other fluids since. I just keep reordering the Amsoil.

G56..........manual tranny guys!!!!!
W+F...........I've used Amsoil MTF in my NV5600 since the first fluid change. Change out about every 50,000 mile. Not a single problem; and I tow a lot. Just under 186,000 now.

Miss At Idle
But why only after the engine reaches operating temperature????
-
Miss At Idle
This is for the old '99 that the parents have now. It's got a "miss" at idle............but only after the engine has gotten up to operating temp. Cold idle is normal with no miss. It's a miss, but the computer adjusts by increasing the idle speed slightly after warm up.. Running up and down the road, she runs as good as ever. Dad says she's been averaging 19mpg most every fill up. What should I look for and check to diagnose this??? Thanks guys!!
-
It's been cold up in ND
I see a lot of cows around here living just South of Wisconsin............. both "in and on and around" cars.........only difference being that many of the "cows" around here are human and not bovine!!!!

What causes this crap?
This^^^^was more of the line I was typing toward ISX.
-
What causes this crap?
And/or the engine never getting up to operating temp to "burn off" any condensed water inside the engine and in the oil. IOW, grocery getter, short trip, urban assault vehicle.
