  1. Back in the days of "market hunting" of waterfowl, those guns used to be mounted on the bows of boats. They'd "Arkansas" the birds with it..............shoot them on the water!!!! Not very sporting; but very deadly and effective, and one of the reasons why hunting seasons were instituted and market hunting outlawed. --- Update to the previous post... I do believe that's the first time my "callname" has been used in the title of a thread!!!! Not even on the other forum did that happen............well, maybe the moderators forum!!!!!!
  2. You do realize that it took a "college" edumucated engineer to reduce the size of the fittings so that they wouldn't work properly. You do realize now that you're possibly taking a job away from that incompetent engineer that doesn't deserve it if this gets out.......right??????? Just so you know what you're doing!!!:thumb1:Well done!!!!
  3. When I was in North Dakota for the first week of October, I was looking at the pickups that were towing big trailers/loads. Probably 75% (in North Dakota) were Dodge/Cummins of various generations. Mostly 2nd gens, but 3rd gens were close behind. Of the remaining 25%, probably 15% GM and the rest "OLDER" Furds!!!!!I would've included Minnesota in my informal opinion poll, but the 'sotans skew the results too much!!!! Sorry Chuck!!!!!
  4. x2........and I can do it without the EGT's getting over 900* loaded!!!!! And then still get 18-19mpg in "combined" driving!!!! Lier's figure, and figure lie!!!! Lies, damn lies and statistics!!!!! You cannot get away from it!!!! I still love the Cummins in my Dodge!!!
  5. We stay in Medina. Where are you from there???? I'm pretty familiar with most of the towns within an hour of Medina; but, I've never heard of New Salem. Please help!!! Had I known, I would've invited you to hunt with us!!!
  6. My old work trailer only went about 5,000lbs. loaded. That said, I drove it to KY a few times to do some work, and got about 15mpg doing 65mph. That said also, when I went to KY to pick my puppy up, I towed my old work trailer......empty.......down with to give to my bud, because he wanted a ten year old used up crappy cargo trailer!!!! Anyhow, driving down with essentially no wind, I only got 13.1mpg. I think it was a bad tank of fuel, because rather than feel the truck "go" when I'd push the go pedal, I'd hear the turbo whine, and watch the EGT's go up with very little "OOMF". Does that make sense??? Coming home without the trailer, truck drove fine, and in fact I got over 20mpg's on that tank coming home. The empty trailer weighed maybe 2,000lbs. but it's got 12" of extra height vs. the standard cargo trailer on the same dimensions. That still doesn't account for the crappy mileage though.
  7. Thanks guys!!!! Looks like a weekend project. The cables seem fine.....they ain't sagging or anything like that. Hopefully this fix will get me by for a while. It didn't help the parking brake any that when we were in North Dakota, Ken, my bud, drove about 5 miles with it still engaged before I saw the light on, and told him.
  8. In my best Johnny Carson voice........"I did not know that!":stuned:
  9. Mike, unless your 2nd gen is different from my '99, I don't see how they can be the same. My 3rd gen/04.5 has 4 wheel disc brakes. My '99 had rear drum brakes. On the 3rd gens, the parking brake is a whole separate entity in and of itself. It's got nothing to do with the calipers etc. That is if I'm reading the manual correctly. Please explain!!!
  10. I can see her looking like the "alien" from the "Alien" movies!!!!!
  11. That is a very cool and unique tile arrangement there Mike!!!!! I like it!!!
  12. Has anyone torn into these on the 3rd gens yet. Mine is shot. It goes to the floor and barely holds anymore. I've looked at the destructions for tear down and replacement........looks kinda involved, but I'd like some replies from folks that have actually done it. My regular brakes are fine, it's just the parking brake. Thanks.
  13. If she looks like what she says in the ad, I'll eat my shorts!!! She's 24, has 2 kids, and puts all those requirements in a personal ad for a possible mate!!!!! Buahahahahahahahaha:lmao2::lmao: In reference to my other post today, "I wouldn't touch her with anyone of y'all's "JUNK"!!!!!
  14. That I can see!!! Especially with all the big female asses (backsides) in and around Wisconsin and northern Illinois!!!
  15. Did the uro-genital part/area of the male anatomy start getting called "JUNK"???? I hear it all over now, and it's news to me!!!
  16. Pretty much. I've never ran out of fuel before though. When I change out fuel filters, I turn the key to "ON" and let the LP cycle to fill the filter canisters. I do this twice. Then I try to start her up. Sometimes it takes a bit to fire though. When I changed out the CP3, it was the same thing. In that case the rail was empty and the CP3 had to pressurize it. I'm guessing the "air" in the rail got sent back in the return line to the tank. However, I did the same procedure to start her up as above!!!
  17. The common rails are "self-purging"!!!!:tease: No bleeding required.
  18. As of today, 10-14-2010, Mighty Whitey is at 132,050 miles. Almost 51,000 on the Cooper Discoverer ATR's, 60,000 on the SouthBend Con OFE clutch, 90,000+ on my Walbro lift pump system, and about 115,000 miles being "BOMBED"!!!
  19. If I had to choose a rifle for "EVERYTHING"...........deer, bear, elk, moose, people, etc., it would be the .375 H&H Magnum. My small rifle would be the .308 Winchester. All that said, I love my .17HMR Savage.
  20. How about the Mustang SVO's??? Fast as hell, and a collectors item now.
  21. Is that the one that plugs into the "hoozie-bugger" and runs by the "what-cha-muh-callit"????
  22. You may want to look at Cooper Discoverer ATR's or HT's. I just rolled over 50,000 miles on my ATR's and they'll go easily 65-70,000 miles. The longest lasting tires I ever had were the Michelin M&S that were the OEM tires on my '99 Dodge/Cummins. I got 125,000 miles on those bad boys and could've pushed them a bit further, had winter not been approaching.
  23. Got back from North Dakota early Sunday morning. Truck ran great.......no problems. We put 4 tanks of fuel thru Mighty Whitey in 1 week...........the MPG's for the tanks were 17.1mpg, 17.1mpg, 18.3mpg and 18.8mpg. The first tank and about a 1/4 of the second were used going up there loaded to the gills (truck and trailer) running 65-68mph. The whole last tank got us from Fergus Falls, MN to my house and the overhead lie-O-meter said 41 miles to go on the DTE. Not too shabby for a truck with 3 guys, 3 dogs and assorted gear towing a 5x8 trailer loaded down, with a small johnboat lashed to the top.My camera took a powder, so I didn't get any pix of our trip. However, when Lenny sends me some of his, I'll post them.
  24. What, no pix?????? Gotta post some pix before we believe you!!!!
