My shocks are shot...
These are "big time" pickups. The best out there are the Bilstines!!!! Every shock is compared to them............do I need to ask why???!!!

Common Rail Issues
The "high idle" should be in there already........it's an '07. My '04.5 has had the "high idle" enabled from the time I bought it. An '07 without it should be taken to the "stealership" to have it enabled, if it not!!! It's in the programming!!! Maybe they were thinking that "Missoury/Missery" wasn't "cold" enough to have it enabled!!! That's what I'd do!!! Good luck!!!

In Praise of the 5th amandment/Don't talk to cops!
The cops/police are not your friends..........no matter what they say. They work for the district attorney /village prosecutor/etc. It's their job to gather evidence when they pull you over/question you at the station/question you anywhere. Give them nothing more than your state requires. If driving, all states require license, registration, and insurance proof. If walking around and minding your own business and a cop stops/detains you, many states say that you don't have to "stop and identify"........some do..........make sure you know that. Know the difference between a "casual" stop and a "Terry" stop............big difference!! Google "Terry" stop.......to long to type here.

Common Rail Issues
I've had the wiper issue since the truck was just over a year old. It's a module on/in/near the wiper motor and is a PITA to change and not cheap $$$$wise at that either. I could've had it fixed under warranty, but back then I didn't have time. I've not had any problems with the ignition..........I probably just jinxed myself!!!!! Thanks ISX!!! The CR's don't fire up the same as the 1st and 2nd gens for the simple fact that they need to build pressure in the rail. Longer than 3 seconds would be a concern to me. Could be the injectors are leaking/shot, or the RPRV is shot, or the LP is weak, or CP3 could be weak, or fuel filter getting plugged. My '99 would start with barely turning and holding the key. My 04.5 takes a second, sometimes two. Hope that helps.

Granted there's not been a lot of responses to this post, but I'll say this.............with just readin the 2 responses to the initial thread makes me really, really happy I got the Smarty!!!!! Not one issue at all with that bad boy and two-three times the benefit for the buck as the Edge...............I can say that, because I ran the E Jw/a for over 2 years!!!!!!! It was good.........but HOT when you got on it. Smarty has gobbs more power and doesn't get hot!!!

Throttle position question
Not all the '04.5's!!! I've got an early '04.5 (ordered in March) and my TPS is under the battery whereas the TPS on my 24v '99 was just in front of the air horn into the manifold........you know, the big plastic covered hooziebugger!!!!

Happy Halloween!
I usually don't answer my door when the little rug rats knock. If I do answer, after they say "trick or treat", I look at the "MOM" walking them around and say to her, "I'll take the trick!!":lmao2:

Cleaned My Air Filter Yesterday
I'm running the Fram Boost 2 air filter and intake. It's exactly the same as the AEM Brute Force filter and intake only rebadged. It's probably been about 1 year since the last cleaning!!!!:stuned: It originally came with a "cleaning" solution, but I'm a cheap ___ so I make a SimpleGreen solution and call it good. It's worked for better than 4 years now!!

Cleaned My Air Filter Yesterday
HOLY COW, boys and girls!!!!!! I couldn't believe how "black" (non-racist description) the water was even after 2 rinses of the SimpleGreen and Water solution!!!! Had I known how dirty it was, I would've taken pix!!!! After soaking for 30 minutes in the SG&water, I dumped the bucket and was absolutely shocked!!!! In total I did 4 rinses. All that said however, the intake tube is spotless as far as I can reach into it, so I think all is well. The truck does seem to pull a bit better now with less throttle!!

Trip to Nashville, TN
Sure is a big difference from your part of "Missery" ain't it??!!! Most of the water that falls on the MO Ozarks etc., drains out to the Big Muddy through the boot heel. The only way they can farm it, is to canal the landscape. Believe it or not, that area is "meth central" as far as making the ____. There's a lot of "weird" folks down at the 24 hour fuel stops at 3:30AM when we're getting our coffee and such before heading out to the fields.
