Stock Fuel Filter
@Mopar1973Man is it possible they are seeing higher fuel temps bc they are confidently running their tanks lower after installing the draw straw? I’d be interested in hearing temps with 3/4 tank vs 1/8 tank under similar conditions (I.e. ambient temps, load, distance/time traveled)

Picking compounds
If your build plans change, I’ve got a practically brand new (100 miles) 62/68/12 SXE I’d trade you for your GXE.

It had to happen
Going out in public just ain’t as fun as it used to be. Pretty sad when most people have to be caught on camera to admit when they’ve done something.

Transmission Cooler Options
I don’t think I am, and I’m not having any issues with excessive temps (couldn’t get it over 175 towing my horse trailer last week). But, the only time I’ve ever had my trans temp light come on was when I was creeping through a field towing a gooseneck trailer loaded with hay in the summer. I remedied this by getting into 4wd lo. So what I’m going for here is peace of mind I suppose.

Transmission Cooler Options
Agree, but most seem to have bigger heat issues in stop/go traffic than they do during towing. That’s just an airflow issue.

Transmission Cooler Options
Yea, he likes the Derale 15870, which is probably the smart thing to do. The Mishimoto would be the easier/cheaper thing to do I think, and then if that wasn’t cooling enough I would add a remote unit with a fan.

Transmission Cooler Options
If I were to get the Mishimoto stock replacement cooler, is there any reason I couldn’t use my oem cooler as a remote cooler under the bed with a couple of 5” Spal paddle fans? My other option is to install the Mishimoto and add 1 Spal fan on the bottom to move some air in stop and go traffic. I’d probably just let the fan run constantly in the summer, and unplug it during the winter. Again, I’m having no cooling issues right now, this is just me using an abundance of caution to protect a brand new transmission I just spent a small fortune on.

Odd ABS & AC Issue
The abs issue happened after the truck sat for 2 days with the trailer hooked up while I was cleaning the roof. Got in to move it and the lights came on. Off for now, and I’ll report back if it comes back on. The AC: I started it back to back 3-4 times like you said, and it happens each time, though I will say it doesn’t even have to switch to “off” I can move it to any vent position and it will work correctly, but upon initial start it still only blows from the defrost until I switch positions. It seems like it might have done that the other day (starting a week ago), but I was distracted and not paying much attention. You’re probably spot on about the vacuum lines. I guess it’s that time.

Odd ABS & AC Issue
2 things happening right now, could they be related? When I turn the truck on, the ac only blows through the defrost vents, if I turn the ac off and back on it blows through whichever vent I select. Also, abs light and brake light are on. No codes. ABS module was sent off to Atlanta and rebuilt a few years ago. New front brake lines 500 miles ago. GN horse trailer currently hitched up, I unplugged the trailer connector and still getting abs/brake light. 4x4 works. Any ideas on a good place to start. edit*- took the truck/trailer down the driveway with the connector unplugged and that cleared the abs light. Ac issue still present.

Where'd Everybody Go?
Anarchy is right around the corner. Ive said it before, the worst day of my life will be if I ever have to use my firearm on another person, but criminals are emboldened right now. The media has made police the bad guys, and true patriots are now white nationalists. I don’t live a day of my life scared of the anarchists and the crazies…im always prepared to defend my family and any other innocent person I can from these lawless worms that are invading our country. Pray for our country, and be prepared. And remember, there are 10’s of millions of great Americans just like the guys in this forum all over the country.

Differential gear swap
Does the 94’ truck have a Dana 70u like your 2000, or a Dana 80?
-
Thoughts?
These prices are conditioning me to start thinking “60k isn’t THAT bad”. I have a dealer that calls me all the time trying to buy my 4th gen for 8K more than I paid for it. Getting a brand new truck is tempting until you hear what’s happening at GM. My buddies dad ordered a Duramax last spring. It was on hold forever waiting for a chip, then he gets a call a few days ago that they are scrapping his truck due to some major engine flaw. If what he said is accurate I’m surprised it’s not been on the nightly news, must be a heck of a PR team keeping it quiet.

What shocks are you running and why?
I had originally ordered the Monroe’s. Picked them up and they looked like they’d been in a fight with bear. 1 of the 2 was busted out of the box. I sent them back and got the KYB gas adjust. Happy with both brands. Monroe sells millions of those things, I think it’s a quality control thing. You either get a good that lasts, or a bad one.

What shocks are you running and why?
I’m not a brand snob, but got some cheap parts store tie rods ends one time and they lasted about 50 miles. And the Bilsteins were harsh when I installed them, so harsh I thought I’d made a mistake, but after a few hundred miles they softened up and are perfect.

What shocks are you running and why?
What brand track bar and tie rod ends did you use?
-
What shocks are you running and why?
I’m running Bilstein 5100’s in the front and KYB Gas A Just in the rear. My entire front end is new with Moog parts, but years ago when I had death wobble it was fixed with a fresh track bar. I did replace the steering damper, originally with a KYB unit, but didn’t like it (I can’t remember why) and I replaced that with a factory mopar damper.

Gears,Tires, & Effective Ratio
I shouldn’t be doing math this early in the morning, but I was hoping y’all could clear something up for me. @Mopar1973Man has 3.55 gears and replaced the factory size 265/75/16’s with 245/75/16’s giving him an effective ratio of 3.69. I have the same 3.55 gears, but from the factory my truck came with 245/75/16’s. If I were to use the tire/gear calculator and switch to 265/75/16 I would have an effective gear ratio of 3.42. So Mike and I have the same gears, but different effective ratio’s based on?? The sticker on the door jamb? From the factory was it 245, with 265 as an option? If so would that mean if you did the 265 option then your effective gear ratio when you rolled of the lot was 3.42?

Transmission Cooler Options
I’m going to replace my factory cooler, it’s actually been a really good unit with no issues, but a lot of the fins are smashed in and I’d rather just replace it sooner than later. Does Mopar even offer the original unit anymore? I can’t find a PN for it. I’ve considered doing the Mishimoto as it claims to be a direct fit, but noticed @Dynamic offers the 3rd gen version on his website, but not the 2nd gen version. I assume he excluded the 2nd gen version for a reason.

Towing, Turbos, and Quads
My stock injectors are getting tired at almost 300K, that’s why I got the new ones, and only did the 7x.010’s bc most of you guys in the know recommended them paired with the quad. The turbo isn’t really necessary, I just kinda fell into a really great deal, but if it’s not the right turbo for my setup/goals then it’s not worth throwing money at I suppose.
-
Towing, Turbos, and Quads
Alright so after getting all my boost leaks fixed, I was finally able to install the ARP studs, and remove the Smarty tune. I’ll be installing the Adrenaline this week, as well as a set of Infinite Performance 7x.010’s. The goal was to have a reliable tow rig at around 325-350 HP, but a forum member lives down the road from me and is offering a really good deal on a 62/68/12 SXE. So I’m considering doing that and making my hp goal 400hp. Will this tuner/injector/turbo combo give a good reliable towing experience? Is that turbo gonna be slightly too big? Should I wait and get a 57/65/12? Don’t want a lot of smoke, don’t want 600hp…just a solid reliable 350-400hp for dd and towing.

I need to vent before my head explodes
Along with 1984, you should read Atlas Shrugged. It’s long…so long…but prophetic. Also, maybe some of y’all have seen this…but this happened a few months after the fall of the Soviet Union. The concert is in Moscow. Reports show 1.2m attended. Watch the aerial footage, and notice the Russian soldiers there to contain the crowd, many just said screw it and joined in the fun. Up to this point, the only way the soviets heard western rock music like this was bootlegged tapes…this wasn’t on the local Moscow rock station. Pantera played also and melted their Soviet faces off.
