Well finally got my replacement nozzle in the mail yesterday. swapped out the nozzle today and then swapped out the injectors. 

 

I could have had them done quick, but i had to remove the crossover tubes to replace the o rings. i did not remove the lines but just flexed them out of the way. saved allot of time. 

 

Anyways, when i installed the injectors, i seated them in the bore then finger tightened the connector nuts. then i tightened down the hold down.

 

Got it all together, bled it off and fired it. upon idling it had a lope it. so i stopped, called Mike and he suggested i redo them. 

 

So i took it for a drive and when i got back it had almost gone away. so i redid the injectors again. loosened everything up and then tightened down the nuts first then did the hold downs. got it fired up again and it still loped.

 

So i called it a night. at this point in time i dunno what to chalk it off to. they never did this before i had them rebuilt. I'm thinking about calling dap Monday and see what they say. 

 

I wonder, could they have set pop pressure a little high causing the lope to occur?

 

Iirc i think they said they are set at 400bar.

 

Regardless, the truck runs like a raped ape! immediate throttle response, runs cooler at cruise and gets up and goes!

-__- Sorry to hear this is turning into a nightmare for you. 

 

Welcome to my world.... something is always angry on my truck. Sometimes it runs with a tick, sometimes it doesn't, always pouring smoke when it's cold, yada yada yada. Hopefully you'll be fixed up soon!

I'm very frustrated with all this...

 

Today on the way to work the truck ran like before when i test drove it. but after my 45 min commute, pulling into the parking space, the truck seemed to have ran rougher and the lope was more significant. 

 

The truck was actually rocking back and forth some and the engine was too...

 

Mitchell from dap seems to think they need sent back in to be retested. I'm thinking about driving a few more days like this is it doesn't hurt the truck to see if these problems remain a constant so i have better info to base as facts. 

 

I just dunno how much more of this i can take. it's going to mean i have to remove them again, put Mike's injectors back in, wait for them to turn the injectors around and then get them swapped again. at the rate this has been going, it'll probably be a couple weeks.

 

I'm debating on just buying new injectors... :spank:

I guess this is one of those experiences that leads to bad reviews we have all read. I can understand your frustration and hope this ends up a lot better than it is proceeding. 

 Also the lope I experienced is nothing like you are describing. Mine was more a wtf was that. Noticeable but nothing as you describe.

Nothing leaking...

 

Everything is tight. I've called some other places for a perspective. everyone is saying pop pressures are bad. then i talked to Mike and we're certain it's from the one i swapped the nozzle out on. 

 

Never was i told you had to retest pop pressure after swapping nozzles. so i talked to dap again. i get the pleasure of paying shipping back to dap so they can fix their mistake. 

 

I think I'm done with them after this. it's going to be another 2 weeks before i get them back in to maybe see if they finally work as they should. i can't do it during the work week as i don't want to risk stranding myself. it's my daily driver. 

 

Remember, these were from injectors i got from them originally that only lasted about 40k miles...

 

I've been contemplating buying some rv275s. :punish:

Personally, when @hex0rz told me that DAP sent the new nozzle and pintle for him to install I knew there was going to be issues. It always mandatory to re-pop test and flow match when you change nozzles. How is the owner to know that the nozzle and pintle are exactly the same as the other 5 injectors for pop pressure and flow rates? They don't. I would of boxed up the injectors and had sent them back to have the new nozzle installed and all 6 retested and flow matched.

Got to the shop i was speaking of. nice little place. had all sorts of bench testing equipment! wish i could have seen their back room more. 

 

Pulled the one injector and they re set the pop pressure. it was initially popping at 245 bar. he set it to 305 like the others. 

 

Got it reinstalled into the truck and it was still loping! so he hooded up his scan tool and didn't show anything abnormal. then he shut each injector off at a time and turned then back on. the funny thing was after he turned then back on the lope would stay away for about 5 seconds then come back. 

 

So i thought great now what. he said he recommended starting at pulling all injectors again and having them test them. they were closing in an hour so i told them I'll get them to them after swapping them out.

 

So we had off to do more errands and get to Costco. so the shopping and get back and the lope disappeared!

 

Now it's running just fine! air in the line? did the computer have a re learn phase it was doing to compensate timing?

 

Regardless I'm hoping this is the extent of my problems...

Good to hear it quit loping. DAP (and everyone) should know you can't just throw a nozzle on a pop style injector and expect things to work properly. 

 

Hopefully she keeps ticking right! I've learned you have to get a bit stern with companies to make them help you.
