Where did you mount your Fass Relay?-(wire harness)

Recommended Posts

I've found a good place to mount my Fass titanium relay on my '99 and rout the harness in the engine bay.  Mocking things up.

Was curious where others mounted your fass relay switch and ran your harness on your 2nd gen

Notlimah, Did you hook your two wires to the battery or elsewhere. to avoid corrosion ?

I hope I have enough fuel line, fass shorted me  one foot. Supposed to be 17' I got 16'

I was thinking main lead fuse box too.

There is a ground wire too ,probably go neg. battery for now

Your relay, I looked at that location on my truck. Looks like a exposed metal area.  Did you drill a hole and sheet metal screw it ?

Ah yea I think I attached the ground to one in front of the battery that grounds out by the body panel. I think so at least. Can double check in a couple days when I get home.

I can’t remember what was there prior, but the hole was already there and I threw the screw in with the relay.

Put my relay in the same place. Pulled my power of the alternator,  going to move that elsewhere someday, but do not remember where i grounded it, somewhere under the hood. Mine is an AD but there should be no difference.

You can get the relay installed in the PDC with a little work.  I installed a micro relay for my back up pump but there is an open slot there for a micro relay.

You can add the mini relay here with a fuse

This is the underside of the PDC.  The fused power wire for the relay would come from P and go over to the R area.

You can get the OEM terminals and other parts from a used PDC out of a gas ram.

I hear you, both of my knees are in sad shape along with my back and neck and some shoulder pain and an elbow it kinda comes and goes anymore, or I can make it go away if I have few drinks then I feel like I was born again till next morning,  got to love it, that's what makes it fun. That's why I like fishing so much too, I get to relax.

I dont drink anymore to kill pain. Wish I could.

Ive wiped out and crash on dirt bikes plenty when I was younger, Broken bones and injuries and 12 packs of beer was my medicine and best friend, to kill pain

I've been laid up for 3 days now.  Eating Ibuprofen.....

I think I'll put my Fass Ground wire on a body ground nut that's on ABS stuff bracket behind the fuse control center , rather than the negative battery terminal

I really don't like putting any wiring directly on the battery terminals. After a while you have this hairy mess of wires all going to the battery. Like myself I pulled a single ground lead into the cab. Then pulled a single power lead from the PDC. The reason I got away from this is all the ring terminals eventually fail from corrosion issues. So if you mount everything away from the battery this problem stops.
