Just happened again tonight going to get arm load a firewood. As I got back in the truck and step on the running board it was mist slick and threw me right in the seat.

Better on the seat with a few bruises than on the ground with a broken arm!  wonder if it would help to spray bedliner stuff on the grip pads...

I have used several sets of 3rd gen ALUMUNUM factory step bars.

 

The brackets are super easy to duplicate, and also extend slightly to a more useable postion (stock is too tight to the rocker).

 

The aluminum should last far longer than any steel and they are easy and cheap to find on craigslist and parts yards.

I think thats the ones I got.... factory aluminums. 

 

It helps a little to drill drain holes in the plastic step so water drains and won't freeze on there.

I've had these running boards on the truck since it was new.  They have been reliable and are not very slippery when wet.  They have never been exposed much to salty roads, so they remain in very good condition.  The trim strips around the fenders are part of the package.

Thanks for the comment - unfortunately, it was a long time ago (2001) when the running boards were purchased, so I don't recall the manufacturer.
