What mods/maintenance do you guys have planned in the future?

Currently installing Spyntec's with new u joints. Ball joints look good so not gonna mess with them. They were replaced once already. New transmission oil, coming up on 50k since it was last changed. I plan on a new steering gear in the near future and am looking at adding on a cooler. I found a basic power steering cooler at autozone for $20, but haven't dug into it too much yet to see how it would work.Way down the road I want to get a limited slip installed in the rear end and possibly rebuild it at that time if needed. Rebuild the trans(upgrade?). Fluid damper.

Which twin kit from DPS? Either way, you're gonna need a butt-ton more fuel.

Lift radiator cap remove '97 truck install '07 truck lower radiator cap.

Well now I've got a list for the new truck, so it really DOESN'T end after all. Radio and HVAC instrument lights are out, trio of DTCs to wrangle (P040B (egr temp sens circ 1 underperformance), P1506 (crankcase depression regulator valve performance), P2267 (WIF sens circ high)), wiper blades, washer fluid idiot light non-op, fix cruise, install new rubber, broken px mirror glass, and a few other things...

Oh, forgot some important onesDetail interior, new driver seat cushion, wet okle covers. Gorilla juice in the G56 to hopefully quiet it down a bit and keep it happy for another few miles. And maybe some extra lighting though I'm not unhappy with the late 3rd gen non-sport lights.

to-do list:-rear transfer-case seal is leaking-fix rear power sliding window-change differential and transfer-case fluids-cleanup the half gallon of 2-stroke oil that spilled in the bed:mad:future to-do/wish list:-waiting till my tires and/or brakes are needing to be replaced, got a set of new tires on 3rd gen wheels and do the 3rd gen brake conversion at the same time.-play with adding some LED backup lights and maybe LED strip under the hood.-fix heated seat elements.-still got a OEM lift pump in the tank and original VP so i'm sure i'll be dumping some cash into one or both of those soon. got 170,000 on the original VP so it aint like a failure would be premature, especially since i still got the junk lift pump

This is the kit i have in mind

Turbo Kit http://www.dieselpowersource.com/en/products/compoundtwin-turbos/ht3b-twin-turbo-94-02/

Connecting tube's http://www.thoroughbreddiesel.com/industrial-injection/24vedm-fuel-connecting-tubes.htm And Injector's are the 6 X .012 From Ind. Inj

I belive this should do well not looking for a alot just plenty when i want it or is there a better combo in ya'lls opinion???

I'm no expert, but I'd be looking into a 7x.012 injector instead of the 6x.012's, especially if you get a wire tap fueling box. If you don't wire tap, heck, I'd be looking at 7x.013's or 7x.014's.

Also, if you're dead set on using the 6x.012's, look into running a 62/71/14 single charger.

Got both sides removed and ball joints replaced. Did a little sandblasting and painting while everythings apart :whistle:Going to wait for my shocks to come in and replace them before I put everything back together. Im hoping they show up today, or tomorrow at the latest....post-11861-138698199113_thumb.jpgpost-11861-138698199124_thumb.jpgI didnt even mess with a ball joint press I just cut them with a grinder and a deli wheel and took the assembly to a 25 ton press. Relatively easy and quick way of doing it, I dont think I would have wanted to mess with a press it took 8 to 10 tons to pop the lowers loose, and thats after a little bit of heat to loosen things up

How do you get to that point of the assembly. Remove rotors, remove caliper , remove caliper bracket ......remove hub ?? then ?

Well... Come to think about it I've got a project worth doing this summer. I need to take everything out of my truck seat wise and pull up the carpeting and lay it over the picnic table out back and hose all the spilled drinks, dropped food, and plan old dirt out of the carpets. I've done this to the 96 Dodge Ram and the carpets looked so good and clean just about like brand new.

Being my balljoints were original (98) I wasnt even going to mess around with a ball joint press. I removed the caliper, rotor/wheel bearing assembly (mine are pressed together), then I pulled my axle shafts out since Im changing my universal joints. Then I removed the nuts on the upper and lower ball joints and took a grinder with a 6 inch cut off wheel and cut the ball joints off right where the boots are. At that point the remaining stud thats in the axle will pound out with minimal force. Then I took the spindle in to work and pressed the ball joints out with a 25 ton press, sand blasted and painted everything up (we do live in the rust belt :duh:) then pressed the new joints back in. I had to use as much as 8 to 10 tons of force to get some of those old joints to move. I definitely wouldnt want to do this job any other way on a truck thats been in this climate

Managed to get everything back together this afternoon except the shocks. Going to drop them in tomorrow, throw the front diff cover back on and fill er up and take the ol girl for a test drive :woot:. Between greasing the wheel bearings and the new axle u joints the front end spins 2 or 3 times easier than it ever has, that oughta get me a tad better mileage :hyper:
