  1. Started by Bullet,

Hello everyone...this forum is great! Lots of good info and very diesel intelligent people on here. I have done a lot of mods to my regular cab 2nd gen 4x4...my craziest mod was a shortbed conversion. I bought a half ton donor truck and cut both trucks in half. Moved to back of the half ton over to mine and welded her up. I also used the half ton rear springs...had to cut off and weld new perches onto my axle to accept the 2.5" wide half ton springs. Also used the half ton gas tank converted over to diesel. Cut my driveshaft down along with all brake lines and fuel lines...and supported the frame welds with a 3/8" diamond shaped plate welded across both …

  4. \ Hello everyone. I joined a while ago and I’m finally getting on here. I have a 2001 2nd gen 24v work truck, mainly stock 5-speed war horse with 370K on it. It’s the successor to a similar 1998.5 unit that I rolled off a slippery mountain a couple of years ago (see my profile pictures). Both trucks were acquired at a little over 300K and are my first foray into diesel land. I’m fully committed to making at least one run forever. I am now cab swap veteran, having replaced the rolled truck’s body with a nice clean quad cab (upgrade) from a 1998 gasser with a blown engine that I scored on Craigslist for cheap. I changed over the hood, fenders,…

Hey Guys! Would like to introduce myself to you (just left a post on the 2nd gen steering upgrade thread in search of an answer). Im Patrick, living in germany and of 30yrs. Bought me a 2001 RAM sport last year, had my dream come true with that - not that usual on german streets. So far i love it, even if it is a little money/time-pit as most of 2nd gen owners will know. Still trying to fix all the stuff the prev. owner did ignore long enough and make it a bit more sexy.

Hi all, Glad to be part of this forum. I live in Roy, Utah. Just had my 70th birthday. Been retired for 10 years from the phone company. I have a 99 Ram 2500 automatic, stock, with only 65360 miles. Been having carter fuel pump issues so I upgraded to the fuel boss. Just started having the 45-60 mph in and out converter shift problems. Alan

New guy here from Arkansas. Grew up on the farm and been around heavy equipment and diesel engines my whole life. I bought a 2004 Dodge Ram 2500 about a year ago. It has the 2004.5 5.9 Cummins. I started noticing recently that I was getting quite a bit of white smoke from the blow by/breather tube under the truck. I bought the truck with around 130,000 miles on it and it currently has around 180,000 miles on it. I changed the crank case vent filter on it thinking that might help. While I expect the motor to have some wear and show some blow by for it being this old and for me hauling with it on a regular basis I am a little surprised at the amount of smoke. I have h…

Hey all, hope everyone is having a great Monday. I am a Mopar man to the core, I have had a few Cuda's, a Charger and some other fun stuff. Recently built an 83 crew with a 12V in it, turned out beautiful. Sold that and now I have an 06 F350 King Ranch 4x4 with an 01 24V. 10K trouble free miles on the swap and just had my first problems. This site is great, I look forward to getting info when I can and contributing knowledge when I have it. Take care everyone!

Joined beginning of September and have been checking out your site. Lots of good info on here. I recently got my first 24 valve, a 01 2500 qcsb 4wd. I was referred here to research the Quadzilla. Found that info and much more. I'm on a very tight budget and everything I do has to be low dollar for now. I just got finished with power lock and window upgrade using parts from my parted out 95 (the 01 is a base model ex fleet truck from my work). It's going to be an ongoing project for awhile.

  10. Hi Guys, I have a 2001 24v auto. It randomly will not start. Give it a few minutes or a day and it is good to go. It has a FASS lift pump (factory style) mounted to the block. I have bypassed the computer and installed a relay to the lift pump. It is a fuel issue. Could the injection pump be having a problem or voltage from the ecm to the injection pump? I am not sure where to go from here. Thank you

I read some post here and I put a momentary on switch on my intake heater element. For some reason my truck isn't starting as fast as it used to. Not really sure where to begin to fix the problem. I have a 2002 3500 with 346000 miles. Nothing aftermarket other than a cold air intake and went to a 4 inch exhaust. Thanks for your feedback.

My name is Kenny. Been following mopar1973man across several platforms/forums for about as long as I've owned this truck which has been since July of 2016. I'm no stranger to Dodge Cummins trucks but don't know everything. This is my first Cummins but growing up my dad had an 02 Laramie duallie an 06 megacab duallie and he now has a 2015 2500. We've done a fair amount of work and modifications to these trucks except for his new truck so like I said I'm no stranger to these trucks. I also currently work at a dodge dealer and have been since February of 2012. So if anyone needs any factory direct information I may be able to help although they keep me pretty bus…

Popped the trans in my 97 1500 a couple of years ago. Told my tranny man that I have known since high school to help keep an eye open for the right one. Now when it comes to diagnostics and repair I can honestly say I know my vehicles but when it comes to the trans I have less knowledge of a Nat. Well back in March where the guy (seller) had all the right information I was looking for when it came to the trans history. The fluid was red but could tell it was not New like others I have looked at. Just one of the first things I look at with engines I figure the same attitude on trans missions. Told my tranny man to give it a good look over and tune not to mention an oi…

Hi, I just joined. I found this site while searching for info on hooking up 4th gen pr seats in my 1st gen. I bought a set of black leather power Lariame seats at this years Mopar Nats. I just cleaned and conditioned them and they are not as straight forward as I had hoped. Anybody done this?

Hey guys I am a new member from Cincinnati Ohio. I have a 02 24v 2500 Long bed single rear wheel. Many diff cars over the years and this is my first Diesel I picked it up over a year ago as my main truck for my business to be able to pull a bobcat and materials. Truck does have 4inch turbo back exhaust and raptor fuel pump and right before I bought it the lid replaced the VP44. I have put about 15k miles since I bought it and now it’s time to start upgrading and fixing all the small issues which is why I joined the forums to ask for help along the way and hopefully help others
