Being a new Dodge owner (past 3 months) I have never been more impressed with the rig. I have used a lot of machinery in my days, but this thing is quite impressive. However on Monday I noticed the check gauges warning light came on during heavy towing, immediately I shifted to the the following checks checks and corresponding results as I was driving:- Oil Pressure Gauge: Holding Pressure- Engine Temperature: Steady 200 degrees, Good- Edge Computer EGT: 900 degrees, Good- Edge Computer Coolant Temp (ECT): 850 degrees, Good- Battery Voltage Gauge (Dash): 12V while driving and engine running...............UH OH!The Battery volts normally exceeds 14 V when the engine is run…

I asked about this 6 months ago and cant seem to find it. But anyway trans shift patter is all over the place. Today rpm 2300 and would not shift, let off the throttle and it would shift. Some times it will skip 2nd and go into third shift back down to 2nd then back to third. Someone suggested pressure solenoid and something else, I need help with what something else is. lol

I have a 2008 CTD with 75k miles. I deleted the pfg,egr with a sinister diesel kit, 5in turbo back exhaust and H&S mini maxx. The truck ran 100% perfect. I fueled up 3/4 tank from Kroger grocery gas station and the truck ran fine, the next day driving home from work, the truck started to sputter a bit while pulling into my driveway. As i accelerated a bit there was no power and a bunch of white smoke. I shut the truck off and it would not restart. I checked for codes and there were no DTC's i opened the diesel water separator valve and a heavy stream was pouring out, i re primed a few times and bam! It started and ran fine. I let it idle there was no white smoke, i sh…

OK guys, I've been thinking of this thread now for a while. Why do our trucks have an "over-drive"??? The strongest gearing in our transmissions is direct or 1:1. It would seem to me that for a truck that's designed to tow........that's what you would want cruising. Add a gear or two in front of first......remember Granny gear??...........and change the differential gearing to 3.27:1 or 3.07:1 or higher. See where I'm going here???Why aren't our trucks geared that way?? Am I misssing something???

This thing has over 300 k on it and still running good with stock everything. I am thinking of removing the cat converter for better flow. I am a little worried about noise and or other problems - has anyone had experience with this?I bought this truck with alot of miles on it - I had previously had one just like which seemed to have more power and be less congested... my imagination? I am thinking those kind of miles are going to amount to accumulation of stuff plugging up the cat- Your input please........

hey yall need some help here. Had to replace my injectors due to multiple bad injectors (shop did return flow test). Ordered injectors from diesel care and when I installed them the truck idled fine for about 5 minutes then i pulled out of drive and gave it a little bit of gas and heard a ting sound and truck started dumping white smoke with rough idle. Got back in garage, figured injector wasnt seated properly and pulled all injectors and tubes. One of them had a clean tip so i figured that was the injector that unseated. reinstalled everything, started it up and once again dumping white smoke with rough idle and a knock. Called diesel care and they suggested caping…

In talking to a guy that, seems to know the electrical system on these trucks inside and out. The topic of having to have 2 new starters in 4 months time. His opinion was that:#1 rebuilt starters from Bosch are junk and will fail in short order.#2 if you change a neutral safety switch or put in a new starter, there is a relay that must be changed as well.Anybody ever heard of this? Claims that without changing this relay, the problem will return.

Hi everyone. I'm new to this site and forums in general. I have a 2004 Cummins that will crank but not start. This problem started many months ago with crank times getting longer and grid light coming on while driving. Finally it wouldn't start at all. Took it to mechanic and he replaced all 6 injectors with new bosch. He also replaced injector orings, supply tubes, FCA, and air temp sensor. I got the truck back and it drove fine for a couple of weeks and then wouldn't start. Took it back and he replaced an injector line that didnt seal properly and the starter. He claimed starter was not spinning fast enough. After work the next day it took about 5 10 second …

My wife wants my stockers off of my mega cab and I was wondering if anyone knew off the top of their head who sales a 20-22" wheel that resembles the stock laramie on my 06 mega. I like the look of the stockers and would like to stay as close as possible to that look. I've been searching but just can't find anything like them. Thanks for any help!

Does anyone know if the ECM can reset itself or must that be done by a person? I recently took my 08 Dodge 3500 in with a turbo code P2579. The dealership read the code and said it needed a new turbo. Luckily I still have about a month left on my aftermarket warranty. However, when the warranty inspector showed up he said he could find no DTC and the CEL was off so no new turbo. This sounded fishy to me so when I picked it up from the dealership I plugged my reader in and got these to values " time since DTC cleared" = 12 minutes and " miles since DTC cleared" = 6 miles (inspector took if for a test drive). Seems to me that either the dealership inadvertently erased the c…

Buddy has a 2004 - 2500 Cummins that will not make more than 28 lbs. boost. Tried plugging the wastegate (turbo is a 64 - 68 - 14) tried 2 different boost foolers, & a 20 lb. pressure test for boost leaks. Still won't go past 28. The only thing that I can find is the his MAF sensor is just plugged in & hanging there. There is no air box. Also there are no codes. We checked the MAP sensor & it is clean & not setting any codes. He says it made more boost even with it not installed before. Any ideas what else it might be? It also has a old BD fueling box with 3 settings & they don't even make a difference. Fuel mileage is way down to. He is getting t…
