Just got my new Quadzilla installed today, should have done it some time ago. Just one thing I did not see mentioned in the instructions for the IQuad or anywhere else. On the IPhone you should change the wifi settings for the IQuad. It should be set to manual instead of automatic in the Configure IP setting Set the IP Address to (in my case) 1.2.3.14 the Subnet Mask to 255.255.255.0 and leave the router blank This will allow the Iphone to connect to the Quadzilla and maintain LTE connection for interrnet. I have been feeling the need to do a write up on this for sometime now. The more and more I learn about how tuners work for our trucks the more I feel like there is a serious amount of misinformation out there that REALLY needs to be corrected. What you guys pay your hard earned money for should return results beyond what some guy's distance friend thinks is awesome. This is not meant to explain the deep in's and outs, rather a rough idea of how things work and why some setups are good and others are not. First let me explain how our trucks work on a basic level when you push the pedal down. IE: How does the VP44 know when and how to fuel? Info taken from vp44 CAN …

Tuning with a Smarty Programmer Written by pepsi71ocean FOREWARD OK guys, here is the scoop. It has long been know that Smarty S03's burn dirty. But the bigger thing here is the fact that understanding how the smarty works, and base settings to start with seem to be non existence. As a result the confusion created makes the Smarty one of the most confusing programmers on the market. However, I believe that for towing it is one of the more powerful ones when set up correctly. There are many advantages to the Smarty S03, mainly that it is plug and play, you unplug it and you don't have extra computers or added wiring to hook up. Plu…

What are your takes on the fuel boss mech. pump from Glacier? Not too much info on them over at CF or DTR, and what is there is positive.

Fuel boss mechanical fuel pump . About 30k miles on it. Lately i'm noticing random odd fuel pressure fluctuations, mostly pressure is occasionally going higher than expected, like 25+ psi. The strange thing about it is it seems to be happening when it shouldn't be like when I'm towing and revving at near wide open throttle about 2500 rpm or above etc. I would think the pressure should be a little lower when the engine is demanding more fuel. Other than that I can't find any rhyme or reason why this is occurring. Any suggestions? Is this anything to worry about? Thanks!

First time posting. Just got a 2000 2500 2wd to tow a tiny house. Decided to get a Fuel Boss and hopefully not worry about fuel supply issues and trashing a VP44. The thing is bone stock (as far as I can tell) without gauges (I know I need to get them). I checked the engine bay and there is definitely a carter lift pump behind and below the stock fuel filter. It's plugged in to the harness and the fuel like is hooked up to the filter, but I haven't bumped the starter to see if it runs. I ordered a fuel boss thinking the install would be straightforward with the stock lift pump. Then I checked the tank. It really looks like it has an in tank pump: …

Well, after a week of flushing radiator, changing water pump, replacing thermostat, and an unforeseen alternator replacement, I finally got around to installing my Fuel Boss yesterday morning, and finished it up this afternoon. I'm in the process of doing a write-up on it with all my notes and comments, but wanted to let you all know that it's working as advertised. Richard at GDP was always available for my various questions. I primed her up with a mityvac pump to the fuel boss, and keyed the stock pump several times to get out all the air and prime the filter. I cranked it for about 20 seconds or so and she coughed and started. She's running about 15-17 steady PSI for m…

got a airdog original pump on the truck right now and been looking at the Fuel Boss Mechanical Lift Pump System. I was wondering if anyone has had put one on yet? I want to use the airdog filter setup up on it, if it is possible or do I need to buy a different filter set up for it? Would really like it better then the airdog because im sick of messing around with the airdog and would like to have something that is really reliable. If anyone knows someone I can talk to on making the fuel boss work with the airdog filter setup that would be awesome thanks guys.

I got a small refund from Uncle Sam this week and I am planning on installing a mechanical fuel pump. My question is whether I should go with the Assassin or Fuel Boss--what is the good, the bad, and the ugly of each. I know these topics have been beat almost to death but if you can point me in a direction of an article that has already compared the two that would more than suffice. I have searched through the different forums but I was hoping for a little bit more. Thanks,

Replaced my filter not long ago and noticed when i filled the cannister (black cap off) the fuel level rose and than disappeared. I thought maybe the filter absorbed the fuel, therefore tried it again with the same result. Shouldn't the fuel stay within the cannister or does it return back to the tank? Any feedback would be appreciated.

I have an 01 24valve after having the truck sit up for a little more then a year for major upgrades and front end repairs. I filled the tank for the first time and changed both fuel filters on my fast flow setup. At idle the truck runs perfect once a load is put on the engine it starts to show signs of a miss fire. Could the be because of a clogged fule filter? If so, i used the correct size socket on factory filter housing to check and replace if need fuel filter but the socket continues to round off. Is there a trick to remove the filter housing top without permanent damage? Also no codes shown on snap-on scan tool.

2001.5 6 speed was driving home just fine when I noticed white smoke coming from the tailpipe. If I hit the skinny pedal I got a lot of black smoke. Pyros were a tad high but not dangerous. Boost normal. Fuel pressure normal. Temperature oil pressure all normal. Even felt like normal power. Regardless took it easy for 5 miles to my driveway. Shut it down. Turned the key. It fired up. Same smoke issues. Shut it down. Turned the key. It rolls over like there is no fuel. Fuel pressure gauge is still good. Popped the hood. Recently had the fuel pressure gauge installed and noticed it was weeping a bit. Thought maybe I was getting air in the fuel …

I've been leaking a small amount of diesel since my fuel system upgrade. Assumed it was one of the many connections on the filter or injection pump. Could find no sign of leaks there. Crawled under the vehicle. Nothing from the front. Diesel has been dripping off the front drive axle housing. Went behind the front axle and found a drip hanging off the filter drain hose. So I figured I'd open and close it. Started the truck and diesel came out the hose full force. Shut off truck. Opened and closed the valve a number of times. It feels sticky. But finally got it to shut off. Not sure yet if it fixed the slow leak or not. Is that drain valve serviceable? I see its got a scr…
