Hey all, so finally got around to changing my coolant. It went fairly well. Started with draining as much as I could through the rad drain. I parked my truck facing on my slight downhill slope and then jacked the rear up as much as I could. Unfortunately I only got about 4-4.5 gallons out. Anyway, then I closed the drain and flushed with garden hose for a few mins on high idle until the water coming out was flat and no longer foamy. Open d the drain at the end just to flush that a little as well. Then shut off the water and let the truck run for a few seconds til water stopped coming out the upper rad hose. Then shut truck off and allowed to drain. Next put thermosta…

I'm sick of my isolator that goes to my ispro fuel pressure guage. Every so often I get low readings and I have to push back the rubber thingy in the isolator and fill it back up to get it to read right. Would it be safe to eliminate the isolator and have diesel go all the way to the gauge?

Hey Guys, I installed my Raptor 150 pump the other day. Pretty easy and good instructions to boot. I have everything wired up the right way, however when I turn the key forward I still hear a gooosh, almost like something purging itself. I always thought that was the stock lift pump. I called the place I got the raptor from and the guy said I should not hear the old lift pump. Are there other electronics hooked up to the lift pump besides the Deutsch two prong connector? Should I remove the lift pump from the side of the block? Thanks

Just in case any one is wondering I changed the oil filter at 7k with the first UOA and I haven't added any oil since before the 12k sample was taken. Very pleased the ol' girl is holding up this well.

Ok, I am very curious on this. I have seen Cummins videos online and I began to notice that when I turn my key to "run"(engine off), my oil pressure goes up to full operating pressure and not one other truck in those videos have. I'm aware of pre-oilers but I have not seen anthing unusual about the oil lines nor any pump sounds before or after start-up or shut-down. Any ideas?

Well I was excited that I found an upgrade turbo a HE351W Ya the Chinese Holset.(since my PacBrake would bolt up) that was going to be bolt on, but the modulator? for the wastegate hit the oil filter housing. I removed one of the studs from the manifold just to get it in there. Now I need to determine the best way to make it fit. Thinking of bending the the bracket or cutting to move it up. Always up for suggestions.

I finally got a couple of days off, I got the intercooler repaired, put back in and drove the truck it would now make some boost if I would get on or pull a little grade, but not over 17 psi and egt's shoot up quick, so yesterday I put the boost leak tester back on and pressured it up to close to 30psi but it kept blowing the leak tester cap off, so I am sure it is pressuring up and if it has a leak it can not be very big, what else would cause very low boost and high egt's

I'm finally picking up an HX35 off a 96', doing the HY to HX swap, and was wondering what RPM the HX starts to spool? My HY seems to start at around 1700 or sooner and I'm hoping the HX isn't going to be laggy with my setup. Thanks

Hello everyone I have a question that hopefully you all know the answer to. I recently got my trans rebuilt by a shop with a full manual valve body extra clutches and a upgraded front band apply lever. It also got a new TC. After that it made a trip 800 miles pulling a 78 f150 and all seemed fine (I know it was stupid on my part to do that). Long story short I got back home and stupid me stalled it in 1st gear TC locked. I dident think anything of it at the time but after that it felt like whenever the TC was locked no load and driving it would rapidly engage and disengage. It had enough of it about 100 miles later and while just driving in normal conditions (not beating …

I am moving to California at the end of June and think maybe I don’t want to test the DDRP for the 1200 mile trip towing. I am trying to figure out which system makes the most sense, and if it comes with everything needed for the install. This truck is stock except edge comp (not tapped currently due to not having a fuel system). It will never see more than a 75-100hp injector (assuming I can do anything in the people’s republic of California) Fass, airdog, or?.. which model and why? what do I need in addition to the system for install? Hoping to not have to drop the tank before I go as I am running out of time. i apprec…

To borrow a phrase from Rossane Rosannadanna, "If its not one thing its another". My scan gauge is reporting 14 psi of boost at idle. The XZT is totally disconnected from MAP sensor. I recently installed heater core and had batteries disconnected for several days. Whats up with this?

On the final leg of my journey to our campsite while towing my travel trailer the engine temperature climbed up to about 220. The mark between 190 and 240 on the dash gauge. We were on a paved road, so no low range 4x4 was utilized. The grade was very steep and I was in second gear at about 2,000 RPM's. When I got to the top the temp reading for the engine was about 220. Smelled hot too. No gauges to monitor EGT's, etc so I cannot comment on that. So I put the truck in neutral and ran up the RPM's to about 1,500 until it came back to normal operating temp. Is this typical or should I be looking for an issue?

HI, so this is my first time posting on here. I just found it other day. Anyway been having some trouble with my transmission. When it shifts to third gear it revs real high but will eventually shift. Been talking with goerends since I have some of there parts vb/tc. They say my 3rd gear clutches probably went out. Anyone one on here ever rebuild a transmission. Thinking about doing it myself.

I have a AirDog on my 2001 and today realized that I don't hear it running when I first key on. I checked and it is getting power. I can feel it vibrating when the truck was running but can't hear anything from it. Regrettably my fuel pressure gauge isn't working, and I've been to lazy to replace it. Does anyone else have one running that quiet? Figure with not have the fuel pressure I'm kind of in a guessing game. Think I may be best off not running her until I replace the gauge. Also if the AirDog is out, is the VP44 strong enough to pull the fuel from the tank, and through the AirDog?

Hey I just had to replace my Fass pump and it is located under the drivers side cab corner where they recommend and it has been there for 3 to 4 years and man the thing gets abused there! It was a pain because my wonderful state knows how to use salt on their roads "RUSTY" So was wondering if anyone has made some sort of splash gaurd to protect the pump better against road spray, thanks:thumbup2:

I just had my 98.5 24 valve start acting up with the throttle going dead while driving down the road. The truck just goes to an idle and the foot feed don't do anything. I looked at it while running and the throttle body moves when I press the foot peddle but nothing happens. Then after a couple minutes it just comes back and works normally. The check engine light came on last night but I haven't had it put on a computer to check the code yet. It was low on fuel and after I filled it today the damn check engine light went out. Anyone have any ideas?
