Hey guys, I was thinking today and I decided it would be very convenient to have a sight glass in my nv4500 fill plug and my nv241dhd fill plug. Maybe eventually the front and rear diffs as well. Now I know from Mike's thread that the trans fill plug is 3/4 npt. What I don't know is, the t case fill plug size, and diff fill plug size. I'm also wondering if anyone has input on anything special to look for or avoid with a sight glass for this specific application? Also, anyone have a good source for these? thanks!

Hey guys, new to the forum. I have a '98 Dodge Ram 2500 Cummins 5.9L 24valve automatic 2 wheel drive 3:55 rear axle ratio. I have done literally everything I could possibly do to my truck to improve the mpg. Yet, I cannot seem to get anything over 15-16 mpg in the city and hwy can vary from 16-22 mpg. Current mods are afe cold air intake, airdog 100gph pump, rv275 injectors, smarty tuner, 4" straight exhaust, IAT fooler, scanguage 2, tires are toyo m-55 245-75-16 filled to 80 psi. The truck would get 15 mpg city/hwy bone stock with a 3" exhaust however when the fuel pressure was tested I was told that it was at 9psi at idle. I'm wondering if its done damage to the already…

I was wondering if removing it the silencer ring actually gave you more boost or cooler egt? I know it gives you a little more whistle didn't know if there was any other benefit to it. Thanks

I was wondering what all you guys with outerwares on your bhaf's do to clean them? I was just gonna wash it out with some water, let it dry, and put it back on. Is this correct?

I had someone ask me to make a simplified version of Mike's high idle switches schematic. I know they can be a little confusing for those who don't do much electrical so I tried to make it as easy as possible. This first picture shows how the switch works. It is very important to understand this first, by understanding it, you will know how all the rest has to work. All of the drawings of the switches are always in the same direction, so they all directly relate to the top of the picture. This switch works by having 2 central contacts that close with the top or bottom contact. Sorry about drawing it on paper, I know it's kinda cheap but paint wasn't …

I had to relocate to Germany for work and my truck has been sitting for a year. Its been parked in a garage in northern california. I will be headed home in December for a month and hopefully will be driving it and installing gauges...etc. Its a 98.5 24v auto and had no problems before I left. I think there is about 5- 10 gallons of fuel in it.Batteries were fine when I left, I took them out of the truck. Will they be toast or can I top them off with distilled water and put a charge to them?I plan on: Fuel filter, oil/filter change, brake fluid, & coolant flush. So my question is - if this was your truck, how would you go about firing it up and running it? Should I du…

Noticed this condition a few times lately and its got me puzzled. Truck is experiencing a slight hesitation with acceleration when the truck is cold and not up to full operating temp. Almost like it’s a dead pedal for a split second at low rpms. Doesn't happen all the time and never after it’s warm. Scanned for codes and there wasn't any. Fuel pressure is good. (15-18 PSI). Low mileage truck (94K). VP44 is factory original. Wondered if it was Quad related, maybe the warm up mode feature I have enabled kicking in the power but it’s not. Any thoughts?

Just finished up my fummins build and aside from the torque converter not locking up and my map sensor saying I have 12psi at idle everything is fine lol. However on my drives to work at around 30-40 mph the truck has a slight bucking or chugging that's not terrible but enough to be an annoyance. It goes away as I accelerate a little but if i'm just cruising along at those speeds its pretty constant. If i increase my power level to one of the higher settings on my quadzilla its less noticeable. Any ides what could be causing this? I have done and custom calibrations to the V2 quadzilla tunes, they are the basic tunes that are preloaded.

02 3500 5.9 ho Quad cab 6 speed 227k Ok, a couple of times recently I noticed a slight hesitation while attempting to accelerate. Happens when rpms are just above idle while I'm trying to accelerate from 2nd gear to 3rd gear. Feels kind of like a dead pedal but not completely. Points to ponder: - Issue seems to happen only if the truck is cold and I don't give it a chance to properly warm up - Seems fine once truck is warm. - it's not mis-firing or sputtering, more like the pedal is momentarily not completely responding. - I am NOT getting any cel or codes associated with this. - 2 weeks ago installed the timbo a…

I was moving Hay Rolls yesterday and when on the freeway I could hear a rattle kind of like a gasser pinging under heavy throttle. When I reached the top of the hill the rattle stopped. I was running 55-6- mph. I am curious wondering about Injectors. I run 2 cycle oil from Wallmart @10z. per gallon but I filled up at the half tank mark but did not add the @ cycle oil. Could this be causing the pinging/ rattle? Or might I need to adjust the valves. Theres 202K on the clock.

I was going through the drive-thru today and notice a shutter when creeping ahead. Once I got my order I went into a empty parking lot and did a bunch of turns and found that if I turn left (at a idle) the truck will shutter not a lot but enough I noticed. It does not do it turning right or when going at normal speeds say going around a corner. Anyone have any thoughts?

Hey all, title says most but will go into more detail. sometimes on startup, the engine will start, then die for half a second and come back on. Like if you were to turn the key off while running and quickly turn it back on. This happens occasionally and then a few weeks ago, it would start and then die after a few seconds. It did this a few times before it was just cranking. Finally got it started and it ran fine. This has all occurred after my o Reilly vp pump replacement … and I’m definitely worried it’s the pump. Any insight is appreciated!

I "think" I've asked this before, but I can't remember..For about a year now, my truck will have a 'surging' feeling under light/part throttle. This is very noticable as of lately, seems to be getting worse over time. no codes. If I'm in 6th, at 50-60mph, you can really feel it, as well as hear it in the turbo-whistle..If I set the cruise, it stops doing it.This leads me to believe it's the TPS, but I am unsure..I don't want to make a $180-200 guess.

My overhead read about 16.7 to 16.9, but actual mileage was only 14.2, on stock size tires. Most driving was short trips and basically no highway miles. I know that's not TERRIBLE numbers but I am hoping to get up there around 17-20 mpg if possible. I was using the overhead to adjust my driving style and it seemed the harder I accelerated (to a degree) the mileage went up, so I would try to drive it harder, I think this tank I will ease up and see what happens. But other than that, I need to fix a small fuel leak behind the motor. I think it's the stock return line but haven't pinpointed it yet. Some ideas of future upgrades are AFE Stage 2 intake, RV275's, maybe a larger…

Hey guys, wondering if I’m on the right track here. While towing up hill and heavy on the pedal, my throttle started to flutter in and out. It only seemed to happen under higher engine load and it was really hot outside. I cycled through a few different power settings on my qudzilla adrenaline and made no difference until I turned the tuner off and it seemed to go away. I read on another post I could be a timing issue? But here is a list of possible conflicting factors: -just replaced my injectors and turbo. I was wresting with a hard start issue for a while. Fixed it by replacing the fuel sending unit and tightening the banjo bolt on the back of…

I put ow40 synthetic oil in for winter and now when I first start it up the oil pressure gauge doesn't move for at least 5 seconds, truck fires rite up instantly but I don't like the oil pressure issue. I haven't owed this truck long but it always had instant oil pressure
