  1. Hi all I have a 2001.5 2500 4x4, stock with all the extras, etc. For years I have been a tire salesman but I still don't quit grasp the matching tire thing as it pertains to transfer cases. Now I know it is important to match tires on a full time 4x4. I ask because my new to me truck has all the same size tires and brands but because of a previous owner flat, the right front is almost new while the others are 50%. It seems in we drive in 4 wheel drive only on slippery surfaces, then we do it because the slipping road will take care of the binding by slipping the tires but is there added heat building up that makes it hard on the transfer to run with different tread d…

Hey guys im new to this website just signed up last night and it looks awesome so far so ill give er a try! Ok so i adjusted my valves a while ago to .010 and .020 cuz i dont think they have been for a while and the trucks got 225k on it and it seemed to run louder than a couple of other guys trucks i know in the area and a little rougher? So I read some more on how to do i and say you can put them at .008 and .018 so i tryed that and it quieted it right down and seemed to run a lot better then before. Is there something that could be wrong or is this normal for an engine with higher miles?

This may be a dumb question but will floating the tranny and not using clutch cause damage. I use clutch in first and reverse and downshifting. I never grind them but its not a eaton-fuller either. I have a south bend double disk clutch and get tired of doing leg lifts while driving. any info would be great. Thanks

I see alot of you guys are using the Edge. So, you just plug it in with a splitter to the MAP, and mount it, then you are good to go? How would I spec one out for my engine, being it is not in a Dodge? It was mfg. in May 2000, and the truck is a 2001 MY, truck was built around the same time as well.

Every now and then I throw a P1291 - No Temperature Rise Seen From Intake Air Heaters like this evening on way to work, only on start up. I usually just reset the CEL and go on my way, but curious if anyone has experience with this code, or what I could check. I'm guessing the intake grid heaters, but they seem to work okay, voltage draw when cold, , wait to start, etc. Thanks.

Well, at risk of being run down by truckers for past tank of fuel, I tolerated 55 mph to/from work (60 miles each way, altitude gain/loss 2000 feet from Flagstaff to Winslow and back), and resulted in 25.68 mpg hand calculated. Scan Gauge II was giving me 26.4.

  8. soo got the fuel problem fixed i figure , now onto the rest of the problems lol . first is the clutch and or the slave or the master that controls the clutch . i find that my clutch pedel goes half way down and then gets stiff and starts operating the clutch , i have to push it soo hard into the floor just to get it into gear and that sucks! and is hard on the syncros ! soo is this air in the system ?? or can i adjust the clutch ? what are my options here fellas ? next is the e brake light , wont turn off no matter what , checked the e brake switch and it works fine , i also un plugged my porportioning valve sensor and it was still on , soo what else is ther too…

What were the problems years that dodge had with the nv4500 transmission?

Getting ready to order boost/tranny temp/EGT gauges soon. From what I've read, I need 0-1600 EGT, but not sure range of boost gauge. Is 60 PSI boost good enough? Also, anyone running the tranny cooler line from dieselmanor which is already t-fitted for a sender? http://www.dieselmanor.com/dm_products/DM-CLG2.asp

  11. 02 2500 5.9 driving through the road block all legal like, went to accelerate and truck started bucking horribaly. ck eng light came on so limped home, scanned ecm p0122/ installed new apps assembly from autozone, no change, found ecm reading apps but would fall off intermitantly then return. so read tcu and found apps signal smooth with no glitch. so i replace ecm no improvment, checked wiring and added ground wire on apps sensor no problems found, hooked all up set voltage on apps sensor now i have no apps reading on ecm and eng. revs wide open when brought off idle, tcu still showing good apps reading. i ordered timbo apps today, and will try but if i read schematic ri…

I know all about the KDP and how to fix it. My question, is there is a way to tell if you have the updated cover that eliminates the need for tabbing the pin? Thanks Truck I am talking about is in the sig.

Got a quick question about the air dog 100. My stock lift pump is going out and now im looking at putting the air dog 100 on my truck. My question is why do i need a pump that pumps a 100gmh?? Sounds like a bit of overkill to me.

Hey guys got a question for ya has anyone ever removed there crankshaft position sensor mine is right between the starter and the stock lift pump? My problem is that upon removal the factory service manual says to twist as you pull to remove it upon doing so the plastic housing disinigrated leaving me with a little quarter inch nub, any suggestions for getting this thing out without dropping the oil pan since I would need to drop the transmission to get the oil pan off, other than that I was thinking maybee drive a screw into it?Thanks in advance

When I first installed my gauge and turned key to on (no start) my gauge would briefly go to 5-7 PSI for the prime prior to normal start. I had to close my needle valve a bit to control some gauge needle jumping and noticed that for the key on/no start prime I now just get a quick movement up to maybe 2 psi, should I be worried about this? Running pressure are above minimums at idle and driving. Thanks.

  16. This is a writeup I did on another forum last year. I've pretty much abandoned other diesel forums so I thought I would post it here. A few weeks ago my truck suddenly decided to stop shifting and got stuck in 3rd gear (limp mode). It wouldn't up-shift or down-shift. I was able to manually down shift to second but it wont shift automatically and it couldn't be manually shifted to first. I checked for codes and got a P0753 which according to the manual is: Trans 3-4 Shift Sol/Trans Relay Circuits - An open or shorted condition detected in the overdrive solenoid control circuit or Trans Relay Circuit. I started threads on two forums asking for help …

Anyone running these guages? A buddy of mine just boughta 01 Cummins and hadn't a clue about the VP issues, I told him to get a guage on soon as he could. He sent me a link to these asking an opinion. I was wondering if a three set up of fuel, boost and pyro comes with everything as in probes etc that you need? http://www.glowshiftdirect.com/98-02-dodge-ram-w-speaker-custom-gauge-package.aspx

Not sure wether I want to go with FASS or AirDog lift pump, but with either one do you have to drop the fuel tank or pull the bed?

  20. Started by donaldbuchanan,

Hey guys, new on this forum, came across it at dodge cummins forum. I have an 01 with 5" exhaust, air intake, 150 injectors, edge juice with hot unlock, and an Airdog 165 on its way. This truck came with an inline pump plus it still has factory one hooked up, ran about 23 lbs pressure. Few weeks ago, the inline pump went and disabled the factory pump too. I drove the truck for about 2.5 miles with 0 fuel pressure to get home, where I disconnected the aux pump and got factory one running. Truck ran fine then with 15 lbs as long as you kept the foot out of her. Couple days ago, truck started stalling when you would go from forward to reverse, then got worse and would stall …
