I have a 2001 LWB SC 2WD 2500 with an Edge EZ, stock trans rebuild (will be doing tow/haul shift kit). My right side leaf pack has a broken leaf & will need to be replaced. I will also be hauling a 21-24' travel trailer from Florida to Utah. Should I just go with a pair of new replacement springs, or is there a better option?Thank you,Ed

Like the title says, has anyone ever done or heard of this being done? I have to change out speed sensors which are hidden under the rotor which is behind the unit bearing............:banghead:. You get the idea. I sure wish mine were like the later models.

Morning folks - I have been reading for few hours on all the folks who share my issue lol. I've seen a few pics and some helpful hints but I was hoping to find a step by step DIY type thread. I need to address a water leak and replace the top of dash that is all cracked. I don't normally do my own work so was hoping somewhere there was a write-up.Does anyone know if there is one? I can't seem to find one in my searches. Thanks in advance!

So, Ive gone through most of the threads I could find online, and I'm still a little unsure of how to do this...was hoping for some clarification. My engine control fuse keeps blowing, as long as the ASD relay is in. As soon as I pull the ASD relay, the engine control fuse doesn't blow...although I'm assuming that is because of the wiring. Without having looked at a diagram yet, I don't know which is in line first. However, the only symptom I seem to have so far is that my alternator won't charge. This is on a 96 12v, but the wiring harness is a frankenstein conglomeration of a 96, 98, and 2000 gas harness, so tracing it through is going to be nigh on impossible. I do …

With fuel hovering at $4.25 per gallon I am looking at getting a set of 3.55 axles instead of the oem 4.10's I have been getting a constant 16 per gallon for years. I do pull a 38ft trailer 5-10 times per year. The complete axles are going to cost about $800 bucks. Am I looking at fuel savings the correct way or am I just gonna put to much strain on the Auto. Pros and Cons? 2001 2500 4.10 diff's with LSD automatic trannsmission 169,000 miles on truck and no current mods other than KN filter. thanks

I am adding a boost, pyro, and fuel gauges to my pillar. How do y'all wire up the back lighting for your gauges and where do you run your boost line in the intake at do you just drill and tap the intake horn?

Ive got a 24 valve 98 and I was driving down the road and I heard what sounded like a "pop" in my stacks and my truck died. It bounced around at a couple hundred RPM's before it died but NO response from the pedal at all. My truck has the fuel pump in the tank and the vp44 and thats it. No motor mounted lift pump. I have plenty of fuel up to and after my fuel filter canister but nothing coming out of the vp44. I pulled the very first injector line off but I have no fuel at all there. I THINK my vp44 took a ____ on me and Im in a real bad place right now. I cant afford a grand for a pump. Is there a way to test it and make sure it IS in fact the vp44 before I buy one? It w…

I am really getting tired of the lead tire weights that fall off and require periodic rebalancing. I have been considering using tire balance beads but have no experience with them. Is anyone here using them??? If so, what is your opinion and experience with them been? Thanks in advance for the replies.

I have been thinking about adding a snow plow to my truck for this season if I can get it for the right price. I was wondering what anybody's thoughts and opinions were on adding one. I am a little nervous since it has coil springs up front and I'm not sure if they will take the abuse very well. Thanks in advance.

Ok so i picked up a scan gauge the other day. Got it hooked up, filled my tank up and calibrated according to directions and followed through with the other set up instructions. All of the engine monitoring (rpm, coolant temp, etc) seem to be functioning correctly but the avg mpg and mpg are waaay out in left field. Fuel type b seems to give accurate readings when accelerating but when maintaining any speed its way off. Ive taken 2 trips 25 miles each way at 65 mph the gauge shows im getting 40 mpg ish. At 55 its even higher. While id like to see those kind of numbers, its obviously wrong. Anybody have any thoughts? I was reading about the fuel cut off, do i need to adjus…

My tires are about ready to go.. ~20% tread, on re-treaded MT's... I drive ~20k a year, pulling a horse trailer for a good part of that. Female driver, yadda yadda, I want to be safe.Local auto parts has a set of 4 new Rodo (sp?) tires, garanteed for 80k miles for $600. They are Street tires with a smidgen extra grip (and they don't look totally sissy ;-) )I can get a set of 4 ~50% tread used tires for $100. Another $40 to install/balance.I need to do a front end alignment on my truck.. Money is tight, but in a couple weeks I can fork out $800 for new tires/alignment/installation, etc. Or I can do the used tires through the winter (I was thinking of getting really grippy …

Guys,The heater core in my truck is toast, so will be changing it soon. (It will be 2 weeks from now or a bit more.... too much going on and the tractor is in the shop too....)I have studied Mike's video, but still have a couple questions.1. From the picture it looks like the steering column is dropped. Yes? (anything other than bag to watch out for?)2. I have a 5 speed. I can't tell, but it looks like Mike removed the shifter and part of the center console?3. Is there anything else I should do whilst having the dash out? I can't think of anything.(and you are right I have cheated and not looked at the FSM yet... edit noticed later that mike said the column was "la…

I was on my way home from work today I got five miles in to my trip, and my "check gauges" came on. I looked and my battery gauge was all the way down to the minimun. I drove about 10 more miles to an advanced auto and opened my hood. There was antifreeze all over the engine bay. The first thing I did was panic, and thought I blew my head gasket. Anyways, I put some more antifreeze in it and drove the rest of the way home. The truck never over heated and drove normal. It did make a squeeling sound every once in a while like a belt was slipping. So, do you think it is my water pump? Did all the coolant mess up my alternator? Is the water pump easy to change?Thank…

The back quarter panel of my truck is stained black from the smoke. It was that way when I bought it. I don't mind it being like that in between washing but when I do wash it I would like for it to scrub off. Didn't know if there was a special product out there that would take it off without hurting the paint. If I can get it off I have thought of probably putting a turn down on it and not worry about it again. Thanks

Guys,Turns out the trash that sold me my 02 also forgot to tell me about the Hide-A-Key under the bedrail. Anybody ever re key these trucks? I need doors and barrel. I don't want to call Dodge, because... its a dealer . Well, the 02 got broken into last night. They roughed up the interior, but the alarm scared the FSA bastards off before they did much more than ripped out the ash tray. Its parked at my office now, but it will be a target even after its re-keyed. Thanks.

The overhead was working last time I used the truck. Today it's out. Totallty dark & dead. Does not respond to it's buttons. The interior lights on the overhead & flashing alarm light still works. I pulled the fuses in the driver's side of the dash/door & all 'appear' perfect. I've been reading on line, trying to figure out the wiring. What info I have (check me... you never can be sure) is #11 fuse (10A) is supposed to be the overhead console. I pulled the fuse & inspected it visually. Now that I (think I) know which fuse, I'll check the fuse with a meter & the socket for power... tomorrow in the daylight. Any other suggestions? Thanks,…

My tailpipe is rusted out. So I crawl under the truck to check it out closer and see that the pipe is 4" out of the resonator going into the muffler then going out of the muffler it's back down to 3" where it connects to the tip. Then the tip is 4" at the end.Is this right. Why didn't they just make it 4" out the back of the muffler and be done with it.
