After I got my lift pump situation figured out, I started driving the truck to work more since my road was in the middle of mud season. Upon driving it more regularly, I noticed something that concerned me, ALLOT. The condition is created mostly when I go around corners. When I apply the brakes, I notice something strange also, but not sure if the two are related. Upon rounding a curve, if I go a little fast, enough to feel it in the seat of my pants, so to speak, it feels like all the sudden I hit ice. It's a warm sunny day, no ice. But all of the sudden it's like I lose some steering as if I hit ice. I end up correcting about 1/8th …

Thinking the rear ABS speed sensor is also used for setting cruise, can't see it connected in wiring diagrams, must be in PCM, am I correct in thinking these are related problems?

I am getting my brake and ABS lights on intermittently. They come on for a while and go of. I am thinking wheel speed sensor but sometimes the lights come on at startup. This would indicate a hard code and usually an ABS unit problem. My Snap-On brick will not read the ABS codes from the ALDL connector. Any thoughts?

so on my 12 hour drive to the beach, about halfway through the trip after stopping at a rest stop, the boost gauge stopped working. then the last 6 hours i get to watch the gauge sweep from 0 to straight down past 60 psi.. :banghead: extremely distracting and fun to watch due to prolonged boredom during the drive..i bought the truck with the gauges on them, and i honestly have no clue where the boost gauge even leads to. what should i check first? thanks guys, sorry for the newbie questions

Hey all Just used a 3M lens restoration kit for by rear cabin light as well as my front two headlights. Normal yellow fade etc from sun and time. The results were amazing - I would say honestly a 90+% improvement. Takes 3 or 4 takes of using various grit sandpaper followed by rubbing compound at end - but really effective. Will post picks in the morning. http://www.amazon.com/3M-Headlight-Lens-Restoration-System/dp/B001AIZ5HY/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=automotive&qid=1283740197&sr=8-1 Good stuff !!

Hi, We can't predict everything, so I will ask the question ahead in preparation. If anyone has been on a long trip and suffered a breakdown, how did you get the truck back home to your shop? I'd like to hear what you did? Are there companies that rent Haulers/trucks capable of hauling a 3500? Or maybe a vehicle Transport Company? Thanks. Leaky

Finally after all this time the steering gearbox now just starting to leak power steering fluid. Input seal is weeping fluid and I had to top off with power steering fluid about 8 ounces worth. So I'm going to have to look into a gearbox seal kit and rebuild my box. I will not replace it with Bluetop or Readhead. Still tight steering just now starting to weep power steering fluid.

Morning Gents, As you guys might or might not know, I use my truck to tow my enclosed trailer out to the desert to ride in our dune buggy. I just bought a new buggy that consumes QUITE a bit more fuel than the last one did. I was getting away with 20 gallons/weekend, but this is not getting it any longer. so......... what Im looking for are options to take gas out with us. In a perfect world, it would be ~30 Gallons. fit across the front of the bed under the rear window. be removable, so I dont lose more space in an already too short bed when we are not out in the desert. have a pump & hose so I could fill up t…

I took off for work this am driving down a 4 lane. had backed out of the throttle and when I eased back in heard a loud bang. Almost like some hit the axle or frame with a 5# hammer. Thought for sure i had broken something, not convinced have not yet. I pulled into the convenience store for coffee and get out and do a walk around. Nothing hanging of the truck, no fluid leaking, gauges all reading good just nothing visibly wrong. The bang seemed to come from the passenger side of the front axle best I can tell. Just not sure. I drove 40 miles to work on the interstate, no issues. Drove 40 miles back plus all around the job, nothing out of the ordinary. If I ran over someth…

Ok so about 2 months ago I resealed my hydroboost using the moparman recommended guide and solve a leak problem but before I could do that my wife drove the truck around 70 miles and 65mph or higher which lead to the death ofy original power steering pump. Having replaced the PS pump the HB unit makes lots of noise when turning the wheels and pulses the brake pedal fairly hard when the breaks are applied. I've flushed the old fluid out. Jacked the front wheels up and turned them lock to lock, and tried my best to avoid any foam. I thought the problem had been solved but a 5 minute drive proved otherwise. Any thoughts on this? Or tricks I haven't tried?

Moparians,I'm wanting to get another Mopar key cut for my truck to use as an ignition key that I leave inside the truck so I can leave it running and lock the doors. I've got several just plain hardware keys for it as spares but I'm wanting a Mopar oem one. Does anyone have an idea what a dealer charges to cut another key? I found some key blanks on ebay for like $9 plus $4 shipping. Just thought I would check at a dealer before I go and buy them off there. Any ideas?:shrug:Thanks,Winslow

Failed inspection today due to left hub bearing. I've been looking at RA.com and other sites, but can't seem to find a listing for a 4whl abs hub... Are they not abs-specific, like the 2001 was?

So I did the WT ground portion but I want to finish it and move the alternator cable from the PDC to the passenger side battery. My original plan was to use the original cable from the alternator and cut it and run it to a circuit breaker then use more of it from the circuit breaker to the battery. This will involve buying the circuit breaker, some lugs, and a crimper for the lugs. While doing some research on which size lugs I'd need to do this job I ran across that custombatterycables.com makes an 18 in 4 gauge wire with a fusible link to run between the alternator and passenger-side battery. The price for this cable is $31.75. So now the question, do I buy all the…

It looks like it is time to replace my heater core. While I am in there I plan to change the A/C evaporator and the accumulator. Am I missing anything that should be replaced at this time? Looks like Napa, Auto Zone, and Rock Auto all have the same heater core a "Spectra Premium". Has anyone had any bad luck on the evaporator and the accumulator on a specific brand? I have watched a video on removal. Any tricks that I should be aware of? I know the blend door is important to position that properly. Any advice is appreciated!

Evening Gals and Gents, Having Issues with my Scangauge. It doesn't report load(LOD) correctly. It's showing 0 LOD at idle. This results in 0.0 GPH at idle. I have contacted Scangauge and am currently emailing with them to hopefully find the problem. For those of you with a Scangauge what do you show for GPH and LOD at idle? How is LOAD calculated? I can even see 0 LOD when TPS is greater than 0. I found this out while coasting downhill in neutral and slowly pressing throtle down. I do have codes stored: 0622, 0743, 1595, 1765 I believe most of those codes were related to the Mystery Switch Lockup control Other Known Proble…
