After I took my batteries out to charge them, the next day I put them back in and now I got codes 237 and 177. I'm going to unhook them over night again and try resetting the apps, I heard that that could be the cause. Any other ideas? All I did is took batteries out charged them over night and put them back in, and did apps reset. All connections are in good shape, and I don't even have the factory fuel filter anymore just the fass 150. I'm hoping it's not the ecm. Thanks for the help.

  2. Hello all, I purchased a reman gearbox today and was very close to completion when I ran into a problem. The input collar that comes down from the telescoping end will not slide over the splines on the gearbox. I line the flat edge up with the corresponding side, wiggle down, and it only goes down about an 1/8 inch or so and sticks. I tried expanding the collar with a screwdriver thinking it was too tight from the previous box, but that doesn't seem to work either. I've cleaned up the splines really well and sprayed a bit of WD-40 as well with no luck. I have since stepped away for the night as the frustration began to build. Am I forgetting something simple h…

Hopefully a quick question. Just got a mk345pc charger for my boat to charge deep cycle batteries. It's a minnkota 3 bank charger that charges and maintains. It has an option to equalize batteries and recommend every 30th charge on deep cycle battery. I called minnkota support and asked if I can use their charger on regular car/truck batteries and they said yes. This charger puts out 15 amps per bank. I guess my question is will it hurt to equalize my truck Batteries? Reason I'm asking is I checked voltage to my batteries and it was at 11.8 and the other day it was hard to start after sitting for a month. But after driving that day it was fine. They are 5 years old…

Its a Clean truck, western desert area no rust Is there any way to clear the memory in the RWAL C.A.B. Any ideas what the problem is that keeps the ABS light on in the dash. I'm starting get really upset... my rear brakes are still giving me issues. History... Back in January I had the rear cylinders swapped out to the Chevy 1 ton and the rear proportioning valve bypass. Also had new shoes installed. All seemed well up until about a month ago. My work is seasonal so things picked up a month ago.. so more driving and braking began. It seems the warmer the brakes (fluid?) get.. the worse they get. Recently had the rear drums turned, new spring kit and adjusters installed. The shudder is back and progressively getting worse each day.. and again the more use they see throughout the day.. the worse the shudder. They also become extremely touchy (g…

Well I'm full of problems today... I've been having a slight brake squeal. It only occurs under VERY light braking. What's recently been happening though is it'll squeak when at low speeds. Usually only below 30mph I can hear it and when driving straight. When turning it seems to go away and doesn't come back once wheels are straightened out again. I'm not sure if it happens once the brakes are applied and then once I've let off that they're not fully separating from the calipers or what. Any ideas?

I picked up a set of aftermarket sport headlights and built the harness from the info on this site. They work great except for the fact that I have started blowing headlight bulbs. I have been using Sylvania and Wagner bulbs. Are these brands just not heavy duty enough for the voltages directly off the battery's? Last week the low beam elements in the 9007 bulbs both burned out. I replaced them both and this week both high beam elements in the 9007 and 9004 on the passenger side went. I am about ready to go back to the OEM housings and just the 9004 bulb on each side. Only problem is that I tossed the old housings as they were in real bad shape. …

Today everything was fine until suddenly the abs lights pop up... when I stopped I heard something running and it was the booster pump motor. Even with the key off it was going 90 to nothing. I unplugged it and it stops. Plugged back in still has same issue. What could it be any ideas?

  14. hey guys. new here, first post. just got a new tekonsha P3 controller to tow our camper with, and this truck is new to me. I've gone over just about everything I could (I have FSM wiring diagrams of everything) and Its just not making sense, think Ive thought it over too many times. truck is a 2000 CTD 2500 - factory tow harness front to rear, factory hitch, factory 7 pin, and it all works fine. i have power everywhere that i should, except for the incab connector to hook up my brake controller. i've also checked the 40amp trailer tow fuse, and the fuse is good. this is where ive gotten confused, and am probably going to come off kinda dumb. theres no power at this fu…

Blew a water pump. I think the antifreeze caused the alternator belt to slip. Check gauges light came on. Voltmeter went to 0. I was surprised as most voltmeters are reading entire system voltage and batteries are still up. Does the dodge voltmeter just read alternator out put? On a related subject. I only get 50,000 miles on NAPA new water pumps. This truck and my older 1st gen also. Is that typical pump life for these pumps?

  16. Hi all, So I have always wanted to upgrade my steering to a sold tie rod setup, and to fix the popping/clunking noise my steering wheel makes when turned. I recently came across this page http://www.mark74.com/ram_modifications.htm#crossover%20steering and I would like to hear from guys who have done the 98-99 heavy duty steering upgrade on a 2000-01. Also from anyone who had done the Rock Solid Steering Bushing on the same year truck. It all sounds too good to be true and I'm wondering why these mods aren't more common if they are so great? Only bad thing I've heard about either is that the bushing for the Rock Solid Steering can get tight in cold …

So its been winter here, and during this period my wife backed into front of my truck. Quite a lot of damage to hers, almost not a scratch on mine. However summer is here an I go to put on AC and nada. So obvious thought is she damaged the AC condensor at front. I black light everything - cant see anything from the previous dye..... might be too old. I vacuum everything down. It goes from 28HG to around 25HG in around 4 hours. So must have a leak. So then I primed with compressed air to 100psi through high with system open (means both sides at 100). Couldn't hear any leaks. Sprayed with soapy water - that didn't do anything except make a …

When I bought my truck previous owner installed new calipers to hopefully fix a problem with the front passenger side wearing down quicker.I have since replaced all the hard brake lines and installed new pads. It seems there is still a problem with the right side. Symptoms are twice the amount of brake dust on that side.. the warmer the brakes get it starts to squeal. . There is is an ever so slight pull to that side at times.. and the brakes seem to become more grabby the warmer they get. Im also starting to feel a slight pulsation like the rotor is slightly warped. The only thing I can think of would be to change the soft lines.. right? Anything else I should look at/fo…

  20. A month or so ago I was leaving my brothers house when i noticed that my ABS airbag and brake were lit on the dash. I stopped and restarted the engine and the lights went away. Had that happen a couple more times when i noticed that the ignition switch was not returning all the way after starting. The switch had also been stiff to turn a few times. Figured my stater switch was giving out. I broke out my new key thats been hanging on the wall since i bought the truck and that issue went a way. So figured the old key might have been the cause. I could even remove that old key with the engine running, it was pretty worn after 14 years of use. I have not had those troubles o…
