I have a 2001 Dodge Ram 2500 I have a brown substance coming out of the floor vent not to mention when I turn the heat on I smell antifreeze and my window steams / obviously I need a heater core. My next question is how difficult of task I have done heater core before on an S10 as far as brands should I stick with Mopar or go with something else

It's close to how I want it and yes the license plate recess is off center because I goofed lol. I will be able to have everything cut with a CNC laser thanks to a guy I met at Cola Warrior. Also what is this?

  3. I know I know, I have alot of posts on different subjects but I want to get everything lined out of this truck. I still haven't messed with the oil pan gasket and I need a front timing cover and tappet cover gasket aswell. I am curious of how to wire up a relay for the headlights on my 1998 dodge. Its not a sport model it originally had the 9004 lights in it but recently got some aftermarket cleared lens with projector. It has a dual beam setup but still uses the 9004 plug. Works great! I am gunna do the high low mod and have both on at once by using the wire splice under the steering wheel and want to take load of switch aswell so I want to add a relay to driver and pass…

So when I bought my 01 3 years ago it came with the ABS and Brake light on and although we figured out the brake light being the entire pedal assembly was bad, we never could figure out why the abs light was on and why the module would buzz when plugged in. Fast forward last may doing axle shafts, find out the passenger side hub sensor had been cut somehow, so we replaced that and tried to plug it back on with a buzz still occuring whether the truck is on or off. I gave up on it as I had more pressing things to fix on it. Well quarantine has got me itching to fix something so I figured I'd dive in, and plugged it in and busted out our Bosch scan tool from oriellys, and al…

(Copied fro TDG.com) Ok guys and gals. After doing some researching and studying old pics I had, I have come up with a diagram that will show you how to wire in an external voltage regulator for when your internal regulator in the PCM quits working. Symptoms are either no charge or overcharge, however they are designed to fail in a no charge state. After insuring your alternator, batteries, and crank sensor are all good you can then use this diagram and save yourself about $800 on a new PCM. The alternator is a open field external regulated type. There fore it makes it easy to do this mod. What you will need is a voltage regulator from an 89' or older Dodge/Ch…

Alrighty, first things first, I'm new here and fairly new to the cummins truck. I run under the same handle on cumminsforum.com. Ok, here's the issue. About a week ago, did a bit of a brake stand, tripped the P0500 code and the P1693. Those were the only two I could get on the odometer readout. Just got a scangaugeII yesterday and hooked it up today. Can't pull any codes with the scangauge, P1693 still on the odometer check and P0500 gone (even after trying to trip with a small burnout). I understand the P1693 is a companion code but I can't get anything else to come up on the odometer and nothing shows up with the scangauge at all for codes. Small…

  7. Have not driven the truck in a bit (wonderful VP-44 puked again and no $$ to fix it!) but jumped in the truck over the weekend to move some big stuff around and when I turned the A/C on it worked fine but would only blow air out of the foot vents. No matter what position the climate control switch was in, air came out of the lower vents.Searching the bulletin board I did not find anything like this but did find several threads about the vent system being controlled by vacuum and if you had a leak that the doors would default to the floor vents. Any hints or suggestions on this? Thx,FT

I came out of work a couple of days ago and saw my passenger side headlight lens was just hanging by the rubber strip. I've been wanting to get new headlights but with all the choices I've been a little overwhelmed. I know I didn't want just cheap Amazon lights (no offense to those that went that route) and I wanted more than just new housings with the same bulbs. Do I get sport headlights? Do I pay $$$ and get retros? Well, with this new development I guess I didn't have time to debate the issue any longer. My new lights have been ordered and should be here soon. Stay tuned to find out what I got and how they work... I'm so excited

Hi All, I have an 02 2500 6sp diesel truck that has a bad AC compressor that I plan on replacing. I decided to buy the kit from rock auto that contains the compressor, condenser, orifice tube, accumulator, and some seals. I figured since the truck has the original components and the kit was not bad in price, I would just install the new kit. This is the first time I am replacing items like and I want to make sure I do this properly and don't screw things up. Not willing to pay the prices to have others install these components. I have been doing my research and I think I have everything I need, but I have a few questions I was hoping you guys co…

  11. Does anyone have a wiring diagram for the Headlights.. I HAVE JUST LEARNED OUR TRUCKS HAVE GROUND SWITCHING SYSTEM "Meaning the switch in the Cab interrupts the Ground circuit and not the power... HAVING TROUBLE IDENTIFYING THE 3 SMALL WIRES IN OEM #9004 PLUG, NEED TO HOW IT COMPLETES THE CIRCUIT SO I CAN TRIGGER THE RELAYS WITH THEMI am installing new Sport Headlights... Made my own Wiring Harness w/Relays using 10 & 12 Gauge Wire.. 14gauge on the Trigger wires. sordered all terminals & connections and used Marine Heat-shrink tubing which has a glue in it that melts & sqeezes out the ends to bond to the wire insulation.. So I searched a whole lot, maybe I have just been unlucky, but I have not found a better blower option for 2nd Gen A/C blowers. My brothers 4th Gen pushes much more air. I am not looking for colder air. I just replaced my entire A/C system. I want more air. I dont care that the system was designed for the stock blower. Has anyone put a 4th Gen blower in a 2nd Gen? Or is there a better blower? Maybe wire the stock pig to 24v?

Will I do any damage to my truck if I take out the front driveshaft and drive, obviously no 4x4? I have to check it this weekend for play, but I can afford to have the shaft rebuilt/yoke replaced right now. Reasoning behind this is a front end vibration at speeds. I'm having some new u joints pressed in today for both axle shafts but both u joints seem tight. Front end is new, new wheel bearings last year, ball joints are tight. Guy at the drivetrain shop said the yoke is probably shot...

Ok Gang... I'm going to produce a write-up on how to replace an ignition switch and lock assembly for a 2nd Gen truck. More to follow soon. What happen was I took the 96 Dodge into town and load it with fuel brought it back home. Put it away. Later on realized I needed to bring in firewood for the night. So I went out fire up the truck and backed into the wood shed and shut it down. Loaded up with wood in the bed and tailgate. Hopped back in the driver seat turn the key and shock to feel the ignition switch snap internal and the key rolled over without resistance. No ignition, no start. I played with it for quite a little bit and figured out if I pressed the key …

I bought the torque pro app a while back to use on some of the gassers I work on and would like to use it on the Cummins. To get it to work properly and have full functionality I need the Chrysler specific PID`s and there parameters. Does anyone now where I can find them?

I was just about to replace my sway bar bushings and read on another forum some guys removed the sway bar all together. The front bar that is... Anyone here try it?? I know it's better for off roading etc and i'm certainly no stranger to using swaybar disconnects, but just wondering if people leave them off even for the highway. maybe the Suspension is stiff enough that it will not make too much of a difference?? anyway for the amount of time it takes I'm going to remove it and take it for a little spin and see what I find...stay tuned. P.S- I did have the rear sway bar disconnected, actually I bought the truck with the links bro…

Alright I know it's been brought up in past, now that more time gone by I'd like to hear more on ways of balancing tires. Mainly I'm interested in people that use balancing beeds like counteract. I used them in trailer before and honestly couldn't tell you the difference as it never gave me problems before. I also used it in a suburban of some one I know and rode in it with good results. I am now thinking of getting rid of waights on my truck and using them. My few year old wheels are starting to get that aluminum corrosion under waights on wheels so I want to use beeds jus need some more imput.

  19. Let me say yesterday I got a good scare. Travelled up to McCall, ID to do my usual shopping. I normally take the back road around McCall to the store. When I started to approach the light I was easing into the brakes and all of a sudden the ABS is back pumping me not allowing to even stop. I was saying my prayers before I rear ended the car ahead of me. Then at the last 5 MPH of coasting the ABS tripped the light and brakes hit NOW. Missed the car ahead of me by inches. Now let me say I've replace all 3 speed sensors and been seeing the random light now and then. I've even tried with no shims in the front and now back to 1 and 1 in the front and the lights stay out for th…

  20. In the two previous 99 Dodge Cummins 2500 4x4 pickups that I had, once I replaced the heater core, evaporator core, cleaned the hvac box, new 190* thermostat, new blower fan motor, both of those pickups would roast me out of the cab if I ran the heater on high for too long. On this 01 Cummins 4x4, it has a new radiator, new water pump, new heater and evaporator cores, cleaned the hvac box, new heatertreater transposer for the temp blend door, new blower motor rheostat, and new NAPA 190* thermostat. The only thing that I haven't changed is the heater blower motor on this pickup, but I have good airflow and my engine temp is running 190*, but this truck will not…
