Well for while now I've had a squeak noise from my blower motor that would come and go. Today I finally got around to look at it. I pulled the blower motor down and attempted to spin the cage. OMG! Talk about hardly spin. It must of been putting a hell of a load amps wise on the circuit. Never blown the fuse or burnt anything that I know of. But the shaft without the cage on you couldn't twist with your fingers you had to use pilers. Well my nice boss ordered me one today and just got it tonight so I'll get the new one installed in the morning.

I was driving home last night and the brake and clutch petals got weird on me. There was a lot of play side-top-side and the brake petal was sticking. I was able to safely get it home. The e-clip on the brake pedal side was gone and the rod had pushed through as you can see from the pictures. I removed the brake light switch (guessing that is what it was) and I was able to wiggle the rod back through. However, getting the nylon insert in proved to be a pain. I disconnected both the clutch and brake petals from their respective push rods and I was able to quickly shimmy the insert into place. Nothing earth shattering here, but I thought I would share in case…

So I almost made it to 250k miles without a single problem with the stock air and heat system. Anyway, we went on a drive today and about half way through the day, the vent system stopped working. The blower motor was still blowing hard but it wasn't really coming out of any vents that hard. I was using the regular A/C at the time. I messed with the mode knob a bit. The floor vents work good but the dash and defrost vents barely have any air flow when on those settings. Am I looking at a mode door problem here? How hard is it to get at? The HVAC system is one area I haven't ever worked with before. Thanks as always!!

A few years ago I went through the ac system and redid everything. Strong cold air for years. This year, I barely get anything. Is there slightly but barely. Compressor is cycling on and off but not a lot of cold air. Could it need a recharge or is something else going on? How many years should I get between servicing an ac system?

I had a misfortune get me today. I was asked by the fire chief to help him with fire trucks and to meet him at Station #3 at 11:30am. I did just that. I showed up at the fire station backed into my usual spot. Sitting there I decided to get some stuff out of the back of the truck and when I opened my drivers door the wind caught pulled so hard I couldn't hang on. Blam! It slung the door so hard the the forward lip of the door made contact with the hinges and tweaked the upper hinge. Now the top of the door is out another 1/4". I'm hoping I can adjust the door again for now and be close. I'll get photos in the morning in the daylight.

So I pulled off my drum to adjust my brakes and this is what I found. Does this look like a hub seal or wheel cylinder? Please say wheel cylinder... I already have new oversized ones to go in.

Sounds like a lot of people done this, and my breaks are wearing fin. Does anyone know a place to get (5093268 AA and 5093270 AA front caliper brackets). Aside from dealer, I tried researching it but did not come up with much. I think I might buy pads and rotors from local parts store as they have life time warranty on most of their stuff, but brackets might be not as easy to find. Any help appreciated.

I'm running 265/75-16 tires. BFG KO's. I'm at 50,000 miles on these and they're almost bald. Any other semi aggressive tire recommendations out there? I run one set year round. 90% street use and 10% hunting on gravel roads, snow, etc.. Prefer tires with the snowflake so they're rated as traction devices.

I need some help and advice, please. I have a 01 2500 Cummins, and need to replace the front brakes and rotors. There is a fairly large torx head bolt holding the brake calipers onto the hub assembly. NO ONE has the External socket that fits this bolt. Where the h*** do I get this socket? I have spent two days getting nowhere but frustrated looking for this. An E24 is just a little bit too small and that is the largest that NAPA sells. Also, what size is the internal Torx that removes the caliper sliders from the main caliper assy? thanks for any and all replies! whodat88

Hi all, Just picked up a rust free 2000 from Florida. It's a 2500 Laramie SLT. Any good links on power seats? I got the forward-back working but could use the rest of the switches. I have power to the motors but appear to be jammed. This is my 1st power seat vehicle, so I'm ready to learn! Thanks, Dave

There was some talk on here about window deflectors a while ago. My B day is coming up and I thought I would put it on my wish list. Is there a brand or style that is better than others? What are your recommendations?
