Has anyone ever ran into the oil pressure gage reading 40 psi all the time when the key is on? The engine not running and still reading 40 psi on the gage in the dash. Drops to 0 when the key is off, already replaced the pressure sensor and no change with issue.

Is there a way to make the stock oil pressure gauge show the actual oil pressure instead of being a dummy gauge? Truck in question is a 96'.

I've got 20k on my oil change since the Frantz bypass filter install with paper change every 1,500. Wanting to have a sample tested. What's the procedure for obtaining a sample? I've seen recommendations in the past for testing facilities. But maybe for the discussion of taking a sample and sending it off for testing it would be best to combine them here.

So if you look in our books no where does it recommend 5w-40 but it also say 10w-30 if you are below about 32, and 15w-40 is not recommended below 5 degrees, so My question is this for a truck with higher milage that it always loaded day in and day out (no less than 500lbs in the bed ever) often pulling a trailer. The truck sees -30 to plus 45 during the winter months alone. What do I use I have been told all you can use in a 24valve 5.9 is 15w-40 but then have been told that I should run 5w-40 in winter but amsoil and dodge/cummins don't list that weight as recommended. What would you guys recommend? Sorry to beat a dead horse....

So I got my first fuel fill of the Alaska winter fuel blend last week and immediately the stalling when put in drive is back just like my thread of last spring on this problem. http://forum.mopar1973man.com/showthread.php/1584-Problems-Stalling-when-shifting-to-drive-and-hard-starting-when-hot.-Ideas?highlight= I got to thinking after I read JohnFak's thread on the same issue with his truck where new batteries fixed it. http://forum.mopar1973man.com/showthread.php/2401-New-One-truck-stalls-when-moving-into-gear?highlight= Entry #20 I checked my batteries and found they were 5 years old. Well, they are Costco's kirkland brand with a 100 month warranty. I looked at the…

Big night last night for Big Brown. She got a quadzilla with stealth cover, tranny flush with amsoil, replaced my leaky cracked oem wheels with a set of 17” 4th gen wheels that came with good used hankcooks for $150! I did hit a couple snags though. Anyone ever seen where a BD boost elbow is too large diameter and won’t thread into the turbo? Also for most of Me78569 how much fueling should I add for 3500 ft? I took the truck for a spin at 1am and didn’t have quite the punch I was expecting from a few of the tunes. PS ignore the mess, I just moved in and still organizing things and doing some renovations

I want to bring up something that happened to me. Now last night a friend showed up with one of his friends and we started talking shop, trucks and diesel be exact Cummins in a Ford. Of course I open the hood on both the 2002 and 1996 Dodge let this other guy preview the trucks. After it was all said and done it was getting late the guys packed up and left. I went out and locked up both trucks and had to roll up the windows on the 1996 Dodge. Went in for the night. Got this morning hauled some trash down to the trash can and hear faint music playing to me it sounded like across the road from me. Disregarded the music being its Jet Boat Race weekends figure people are part…

Sorry, Newbie here. Unfortunately, as a farmer, I have very limited play money, I can't afford a $4-600 programmer, however I was recently able to swing a Diablo Sport Power-Puck. Everything I've read suggested that it is the best bang for the buck. As advertised, it made a definite improvement, but there is still a definite turbo lag. I know, that's the nature of the beast. I was wondering what effect a boost fooler and/or Boost elbow would have combined with the power puck. Does the Puck already do boost fooling, or would it help or hinder. Also where would the fooler go, between the MAPP sensor and the Puck, or between the Puck and the stock harness? Any help would be …

While using Chris Os abs tool that reads turbo boost I couldn’t hit more than 16 psi. Isn’t this way low for an hx35 with 75s? I need to test for boost leaks again...

Hi all, There used to be an order for doing the step by step improvements on a VP44 truck, does that still exist? Bought a clean 2000, 2500 4x4 club cab & need that list for a reference. I will get an Air Dog Raptor & a Fuel Gauge. Also need a temp gauge for the Auto. Is that still the way to go? So my 1st sort of concern. I was coming back from Canada pulling a 24' pontoon boat on a 28' trailer no worries until I got to the border, as we sat for an hour, wasn't that hot, drove about 200 miles w/o the A/C, my engine temp gauge started rising till about the 3/4 mark. So waiting in line I quickly raised the hood up to give a quick check & noticed that th…

So went this week to a local Drag strip for "Amuetaur night" with a few other diesel driving friend's. Took my old Dually in my sig's. Before we got lined up they had everyone open there hood's and show what you've had done and all looked over all the truck's, car's, suv's that were there. I got lined up with a 2007-08 Ford Expedition 5.4 liter, 2wd, auto, all stock, 4 bald tire's, 4 different color paint different on each door. I drive a 4x4 modle expedition every sunday at my second job so i know exaclty what they can and can't do The one i drive has no power to pull even a little trailer we use, gets 7 mpg, it's a horror trying to get up to merge speed on the interstat…

Several months ago I had the P122 with a cel. As it progressed I started experiencing engine surging. At first only 1, 2, maybe 3% as shown on my scan gauge. I lived with for a little while until I had a chance to try and diagnose it some. Some of you might know how much I enjoy diagnosing electrical problems and for any who does not I think I would rather have a root canal done. Any way I had pretty much determined that it was a bad apps sensor. I had a Timbo on the truck and was not completly convinced that it was bad. So I googled "apps/tps sensor and found a boat load on ebay for any where between $12 and $90. They all had the same picture and I ended up buying one fo…

1999 2500, 4X4 auto stock... 147K, inherit from Step Dad. Truck sat for about 4 yrs, monthly starting.PacBrake isnt actuating. I can assume it could have frozen (rusted linkage) or a relax/vaccuum issue. Ideas to check? I'm getting light on the powered dash switch, so its alittle more than a grounding issue. Can I disconnect linkage and action it loose?

I am going to go with an MBRP 4 inch system.. not sure which configuration (stainless, powder coat, or aluminized) probably just single. I was wondering if the PAC-brake or if available, other brands of 'improved' exaust elbow was worth the $275+/- ? The original elbow looks awful choked down! Another thing I have to consider is toughness.. are they as durable as the oem's? (cracking issues)(getting ready to start the 'rebuild' here soon!... about another week of gathering cattle.. and my year's work is complete!)......... unfortunately, 'next years' work started a month ago..
