Posting on this site because many are familiar with hose sizes and what pressures do to floe. I want to install a back up fuel pump in a small motor home. Gas...not diesel. On a small 5.4 trition. I can work out most of the plumbing but I'm stuck on figuring out how much gas I can get through a certain size line. I have a gas line much smaller in size that feeds a generator. Much smaller than gas line to engine under the hood. Would be great if I could use this small line. What is it called...figuiring out how much fluid you can a certain size line at so much pressure? If someone would give me a hint...I could google from there, but don't know what…

I've got a 1970 351 Cleveland that is having an overheating issue. I've talked with @TFaoro about it and he's steering me towards it needing head gaskets. (A Ford needing head gaskets? Never heard of that!). Anyways, I was hoping to hear if anyone else has run into and issue like this. And when I say overheating "issue" I mean it's puking coolant out within three miles of gentle driving (with and without a thermostat). Last time I worked on the car (two days ago), I put on a new water pump in hopes that would help. It did not. Any thoughts?

Hey there guys. I got my self a cheap rig from a buddy. Its a 2002 F-250 5.4L gasser. Its got a lot of miles on it but I got it for a good price. I am having an issue with it that I am not sure where to start checking things. I picked up the truck a couple weeks ago and its ran fine until today. I should specify I have been doing some maintenance things here and there to the truck. Changed fuel and air filters last night. Changed the cruise control disengagement switch and harness plug also. After about 10 minutes on the freeway today the engine just cut out and died. Got pulled over, shut the key off. Cranked it over and she started right away like normal. Th…

I have a relatively generic question. I posted another on the Ford section with a little more specifics. Just curious as to what company to get an injector pump from, who would you go with?

I have a friend who is having problems with his pickup. We have come to the conclusion that it needs a hpop. I gave him two companies to go with, Industrial Injection and Therobred Diesel. I told him if it were my truck I would go with Industrial Injections pump. He wants to know what the difference in the two are since Industrial's pump is about $220 more. Who would everyone else go with. Thanks everyone

My wife took our 03 f150 in for an alignment as front tires were showing a little wear, and shop told her lower ball joints were shot and they could fix her up for $650!! Ball joints are less than $50 each. Even though I really don't have time, I replaced them myself as I don't have the money either. Doesn't that seem a little steep? They wouldn't install the parts if I brought them in either. Curious what you all think .

We flushed the cooling system on my sons F150 with distilled water and replaced it with G05 "HOAT" formula last fall. The system had been neglected for some time by previous owners. We also replaced a couple of freeze plugs and found there has been some significant electrolysis damage going on. There are no present leaks, and the G05 is stable. However there is still quite a bit of sediment floating around in the system. Anyone have any thoughts about installing a non chemical type coolant filter on a rig like this?

Hey guys and gals, I got a call from my nephew and he has a friend that is thinking about swapping an auto tranny to a manual in his 1994 F-250. Has anyone done such a swap and how hard was it? I told him having a donor truck right there is a great asset, but I am also wondering about the PCM and wiring too. From what I read there were some wiring changes at the PCM between the auto and manual. Can anyone confirm this?

For anyone looking for any info on F 150s ? You might as well stay right here.. F 150 forum is nothing but a sack of hammers. I ask two simple questions 1. can the 4.2L block be drained? 2. What type of coolant does Ford recommend for these trucks. All I get is people telling me how I should`nt flush the system because it may loosen deposits, and cause leaks.. I thought the first guy was probably just a knothead even though he had thousands of post, but now another guy has chimed in saying the same thing.. niether one answering either one of my questions??? Am I missing something here??? I don`t know if this 01 truck has the original stuff? or if …

Hey Gang... Lindy and myself are looking for a source for glow plug connectors for the older Ford 7.3L diesel. We've got 2 trucks now that have either broken glow plug connectors or badly damaged. Ford doesn't sell them unless you buy a full under hood wiring loom. NAPA doesn't list anything for it. Now one of the part counter guys is thinking maybe a coolant sensor plug might work. But I was going ask here to see if anyone else knows of a solution?

Last night a neighbor called up asking me to help him out with a Ford Powerstroke with a boost boot that keep blowing off the mouth of turbo. His stock boot was blown and shredded on the one end. The after market boot was a bit different length but it did fit. For some reason it would blow that one off too in about 5 miles. Tow a 5th wheel trailer GVWR for the trailer was close to 15,000 pounds. Also running big 35" tires as well. Edge Juice set to stock and running about 15-20 PSI of boost climbing the canyon. I figure I would ask about it to see if anyone else learned a answer to this weird problem?

I can't get the Dodge into the shop until I retrieve the wife from camp next Wednesday... I have borrowed the inlaw's 'spare' Explorer. I am thankful for the loan but man, I don't like this rig. Besides it being a gas hog... they claim 14 mpg... It's a ***** for me to get my into with my bad legs. It drives like a boat... trying not to get seasick! Probably all the shocks are gone. But I need to get to camp & back a few days so I'll be keeping the Saudi's in business... I will be towing my bigger landscape trailer with my big scooter... to haul my swivel cannon around camp.

Here is a link to my other thread about a 1994 Ford dump truck model CF 7000 with a P-pumped 12V in it, I have the guy down to $3500, all my research shows the truck to be worth a minimum of 4500-5500. http://forum.mopar1973man.com/threads/8434-1994-Ford-cabover-W-Cummins?p=81511#post81511 http://forum.mopar1973man.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=6172&d=1379782824 I am going to call him by days end to buy it or decline it, I know this is a short window for a poll especially for a weekend when things are at its slowest on the forums but thought it would be fun to see the results. I am leaning heavily towards buying it, I know I wouldn't lose money on it at this poi…

Guy said it isn't a power house, only does 62 mph at 2250 rpms, no ac and slight rust as it came from Minnesota originally. 6 spd manual with turbo and he isn't sure if it has a VE or P pump, he thinks P-pump but not sure and couldn't look because it is in storage. A friend of mine has a 2013 Ford F-350, his son put gasoline in the tank. He had a half tank of diesel and he filled it up with gas. It is making a clattering noise. Can I just drain the tank and change filters or is it a total loss. The guy at the ford house says that they have to put a new motor in it. Anyone know?

A guy I know has the 1995ish style F150 and his wheel fell off. He had taken it to a place a week before to have them look at the brakes. He said it had been driving weird ever since and then the wheel fell off. Now I am not much on spindle crap but from what I can tell, the spindle nut is still on there.. How could this have happened? From the pics does he have a case against them? He said " It's a family place we have been going for years the strange thing is I took it to them and it came back with the rims missing the hub cap in the middle only on the front too and they tried explaining to me that it can't have the cap but I have a pic of the truck prior with it…
