While only a member for 3 or 4 months wanted to give a sincere thanks! Owning our 01 since 05 I never took the time to figure it out. That changed after getting ripped off in Yuma (we live is Seattle) I'm now learning. Being stuck at home because of wives medical and being retired allows me the time to read the posts and then read the manuals to see if I get the same answer that the experienced folks share. Good way of learning for me. Thanks and Happy New Year

Got my Load Lifter 5000 airbags on today. Look at the poor factory springs lol. The extra spacers are bolted to the spring pack and not just stacked on top of the factory block. The springs were bowed before I added the spacers. I also have no idea what happened to the factory overload spring.

Well, winter decided to make up for all the lack of snowfall in just one day. I was woken up to the sound of losing power. That's when i knew it began. No sight of restoration anytime soon as our whole region seems to be without power. Missed work today because of all the snow. Spent 6 hours in the bobcat removing snow in the driveway and the private community road. Its a wet heavy snow. It took its toll as trees and power lines have fallen everywhere according to news and feedback from others. Lineman can't get started until they are ensured safety. I imagine they've been at work for a while now, but they certainly weren't out in it until it subsided. …

I must first say, I'm not worried about anything with my Cummins. It runs fine and fires every first crank. I do not think i have excessive blowby either. It doesn't smoke or burn oil excessively. But, the idea comes into mind, why not? They say to add it in every oil change. I know it's not a silver bullet, but if i can use it as a preventative, why not. Maybe i will see any increase in performance or efficiency or longevity. I hardly hear anything bad about it, but was curious to hear what others have to say about it on this forum. I think this product has allot of merit and was considering putting it in every engine i have for good measure.

What a loaded topic... I have never owned a safe. But that time to own one has seem to come around the corner, finally. I have done research on the topic over the years and have come to realize what the safe industry is. With the vastly different ranges in safe design, its hard to choose what a person really needs... As part of my homeowner defense plan, securing my arms, my priceless possessions and sensitive information, i need to understand what's adequate. I have seen gun lockers, safes, vaults, hiding spots, etc. Ranging from cheap to high dollar. Merchants that specialize in safes willing to sell you a safe that you could only pu…

A couple things I've learned. Before working on truck in winter plug in the block heater for a couple hours since its much easier to work over a warm engine than a cold engine. If your having trouble finding an air leak to the suction side of your fuel system use a shop vac to pump no more than a few pounds of pressurized air into the tank and then see if you find any weeping fuel in the lines or primary filter. A shop vac hose turned backward to blow air out will fit better to the fill neck than trying to stuff a rag around an air hose that may over pressurize. This should help you prime a fuel system as well.

After being flooded out yet again and our house being in too rough of condition to repair we’ve dicided to get a travel trailer. It looks like this is going to be our new home. https://www.funtownrv.com/product/new-2018-prime-time-rv-avenger-31rkd-767807-29

With all the travel time... I've got around to learning how to work Google. Google has a wonderful voice command system for Android Phones. You can call out "ok Google" to fire up the app even if the phone is locked. Then you can tell Google different commands and it will do it for you. Being my truck has a cellphone gooseneck my phone is facing me. I can call out "Ok Google call Nick Otto" it will dial his phone number and since my stereo has Aux jack I'm plugged into the stereo and can use the phone while driving. Text messages the same way. I can call out "Ok Google send a message to Rosalie I'll be there in 10 minutes" it will make a text message for MoparMom and send…

With the recent sale of my 5ther, my bonds have finally been released of that debt! It has been refreshing to finally realize that i no longer have that hanging over my head! While i do plan on saving money, sometimes money must also be invested. We've been thinking on priority purchases, and an agreement was made that we want a skid steer. Preferably before winter so it can be used for snow removal. I also want it to use to move my beehives. It's going to get allot of use in that department as i keep growing my apiary. Then there's need for it with other attachments that it can take the place of a tractor. If need be i can do odd jobs with it and…

So, a coworker came over last weekend and i rented a skeleton grapple for the skid steer. We spent about 6 hours cutting up the last of my log deck. Worked out really well. I wanna buy a grapple asap. I ended up bonsaing into the round pile and took whatever i could and dumped it into my leanto. The remainder took 5 truckloads to hand load that was left out in the driveway. The picture shows the results of the efforts. So i chipped away at this pile some today with a new splitter i bought. It's a DR Rapid Fire K10. It's an electric kinetic splitter rated to the equivalent of a 10 ton hydraulic splitter. Runs on 110v. This is their ch…

I'm asking this because I know there are a lot of tech savvy people on this forum. I'm building an arduino based climate control system for my Yukon because I no longer have vacuum. I have built an app to control the system that consists of three slider bars (fan speed, temperature control, and zone control.) Controlling the fan and the flapper door haven't proven to be too difficult, however the coolant diverter valve has turned out to be a different story. Does anybody have any useful suggestions about how to control this with an arduino? The tech guy from the company I talked to said the direction of the diverter valve is changed by changing polarity to the motor. Can …

I'll be picking up a new project in a few weeks. His name is Fish and he's cute. Hopefully the 2nd gen won't be too jealous. Also not my political stickers in the background.

Has anyone thought to take a step back and look at the bigger picture lately? I'll try not to qualify this thread as religious and spiritual, but i can't help but think a message is trying to be conveyed... 1. Increased earthquake frequency. (Yes, i know they are an everyday event) 2. Threat of nuclear war 3. Wildfire galore. The west coast is burning up. 4. The east coast is drowning out. Hurricane Harvey, Irma and other multiples developing on the same path. I'm reading the writing on the wall... Meanwhile, I'm thankful I'm not on fire, but this is what i get to deal with. Even i need to wear …

It all started earlier this year, around March I believe. A friend of mine mentioned that he was going to be participating in an obstacle course called Cola Warrior and that I should try to get a run slot and go with him. I had no idea what Cola Warrior was about so I starter doing some research. Cola Warrior was started by a former .Mil guy who now works as a contractor overseas. It was designed as a physical and metal challenge that makes you go "WTF am I doing?" Lol. Basically there are regional events held across the country with the top 10 finishers eligible to compete in the finale dubbed "Cola Warrior Classic". All of the event…

My computer is messed up. Favorites don’t show up. For now I'm using the search bar to get different sites. I typed in “mopar” and phone rang. When I was on the phone, wife looked up something about “Halloween” . After hanging up the phone, and sit back down, end result made me chuckle. How needs one?

Started my day with my a trip to Discount Tire for a slow leaking tire and a vibration that was not sure was tire related. Got there and we get the tire of and find a cracked rim. Cracked all the way into the barrel of the rim. That is #4 or 5 of the stock rims I have had crack. I have been looking for some rims of late but have not found a good deal on any take offs. Now when I walked into DT they had a set rims that caught my eye. So I ended up with a new set of rims. Not exactly what I would have chosen with a little more time but look pretty good on truck. $450 with new lug nuts. 0 offset so they stick out a little more. Had that on my 96 with the AR wheels. They …
