  1. So I picked up some lathes recently. I haven't used a lathe for about 10 years, and never anything as old as these. The grey one is a 1935 South Bend 9" workshop lathe. The blue one is an Atlas/Craftsman 618 6" lathe. The craftsman didn't come with a full set of change gears. The South Bend is pretty complete. Other misc tooling and whatnot were included, and both are in very good shape aside from needing a cleaning. The photos are when I pulled them out of the truck, tooling and the other parts aren't shown.

Picked up an Deere 2210 with the yanmar 3TNE74 engine. i know nothing of this. anyone have any info or suggestions. i know Google can be useful. but i'd rather hear from trusted people on this forum. it has a gannon, and loader. i think i need to weight the rear tires as i can pick up things (rear of dodge truck ) with the loader and the back tires will lift. it only has 153 hours on it. so i'm not even sure if it's ever had it first oil change. as it's stated to "breakin" till 200 hours. anyhow, i'm going to drop the oil and put valvoline 15/40 in it. are these engines electronic injection? or POP style.? i can't find that even with googles help. …

You've seen tens of thousands of movies that tell you to "move along...there's nothing to see here by a police officier. There is plenty to see. It's blood, guts, pain, etc., and you won't forget it if you're involved. We have been programmed to not assist our fellow man. I'm waiting for the rain to stop and I'll do a film with Michael on the highway to point out to you the importance of having a lst aid kit, water, and a blanket. My deputies are not on US95....their stuck in their office. Our response time to assist any one just got a helluva lot longer. Your alone out there. That medical kit, water & a blanket will be you life-line. So for God's sake drop t…

I have two craftsman torque wrenches that are complete garbage that I would like to replace. At work, I use SnapOn and I really like them...but is there anything that you have used that you would recommend. I did a search on Amazon and there are a ton of different brands: Capri, Tekton, Nordstrand....the list goes on.

I mean in a way of what scares you in life. For me its spiders. If they are outside and in nature and I see them first I am totally ok with them, its the ones I can't see in closed dark spaces that creep the hell out of me and then the webs that you get entangled in not knowing if there are spiders in them or not. The other thing is when I find one crawling on me, I become the best acrobat on planet earth at that point lol. This is my type of identifying chart when in my house.

You guys have any ideas on ways to keep tools from rusting in the shop? Unheated and 100% humidity.

What grease guns are you guys using? I need one but don't know if I should just get the cheapy one from walmart or if it'd be worth shelling out a bit more for something higher quality. I've heard of horror stories about people trying to grease some of the fittings on these trucks.

Just to show off Nicks handy work say I'm looking for a set of new hood bumpers for my 02 truck. So I would go over to the part number lookup tool and find the part I'm looking for. Now go over to Google and type in the part number plus "dodge ram". https://www.google.com/#q=02276804+dodge+ram Now just quickly checking the reported links. The first one for me had what I was looking for at a god price even. http://www.factorychryslerparts.com/products/DODGE/RAM-1500/BUMPER-Hood/4240073/02276804.html So this should help folks find parts for there trucks even the tougher ones that most part stores might not have.

Figured we could get some conversations going about some of our other forms of transportation. Here are some pics of my wifes crew some of which she shares ownership with her mother like the Donkeys and Mini horses and goat. I will type out the story of her horse when I feel like typing for a while, very long story of how this horse is still alive and thriving today, my wifes passion for life and horses helped pull this mare through massive injuries that would have killed or caused the euthanasia of most animals. No animal in the pics cost more than 10 bucks from the sales barn and other than the horse and routine hoof trimmings have been low to no cost ani…

We took our annual pilgrimage to central Utah to Fish Lake. It was awesome. The weather was great, in the 50's and we got out share. Our first day there, we caught 100+ perch and filleted them that night. They ended up as our lunches for the next couple of days on the ice. Fried perch on the ice...it doesn't get any better. The ice was 20" thick, I tried to convince my brother in law to drive his truck out on it...but he didn't want to.

I wanted to give a Big shout out to BBHD. Thanks a ton for the BHAF, the truck screams not, well not faster, but it sure sounds good in the cab! You're a real standup guy, let me know the next time you are coming through and I will get you lunch or a beer or whatever. Nick
