This thread is where I will post updates of my modifications, issues i've had, and potential upgrades I'm considering.

This page is dedicated to @TFaoro, because without him my truck would be bone stock still....

To start off, today my VP died.  It took me by surprise, as it gave no indication there was an issue.  But, it threw Death Code P1691, and that's that.  Good thing it died before I bought tires.

Is DAP everyone's first choice for a new VP?

  • Yesterday I made a trip down to @TFaoro's shop to put a Fast cooler on my truck and do a pinion seal.  While there I was able to witness his new p pumped truck start up and go back together, while put

knoby tires weren't made for wet lol.

Meh whateve rI stick with highway tread anyways.  It's a good excuse to not break my truck by offroading.

We got 8 inches of snow in Golden last night, and the new tires exceeded my expectations.  So I'm happy

I almost bought Duratracks when I was looking for tires because of all the reviews, but settled on toyos as they were pretty aggressive too and people claim they were quiet on Hwy which is true. I still like all terrains because I do get off road once in awhile, not as much as I want to. Last time I went to get firewood I was dragging 2 to 3 logs out of a ditch with my truck, and they were not small logs either, about 20 24 inch in diameter at the trunk and about 30 40 feet long. I wish I took a video that day that was awesome. It was almost like a tractor pull only op hill. I used 4 low second and third gear. But that was on Grapplers before I got rid of them, and I thought they did pretty well all the way around. I did took small chunks out of them that day spinning tires. Some days you just gotta have fun.

These came on some 3rd gen wheels I wanted. Only reason I ended up with them. NEVER again.

Here is what Toyo's open country are doing, nothing but daily driving, don't recall spinning them on anything sharp. Just developing random cracks and missing chunks.

I have had TOYO Open Country's on my truck for 30K and haven't had any issues.  YET

I've found that they had issues with some but not all, some were made in USA some in Japan. There were bad batches, I got lucky on one.

Man @Dieselfuture, those don't look so good...

@jlbayes I saw a set of studded Duratracs on FB for sale today.  Maybe that would help you with your issues lol.

Got the gauges installed today, and am very happy with how they look and operate! IMG_4169.JPG.8317af0411bc09bb4ae4c9f1b3cbdee1.JPG

They look good man!!

I also like the routing of the charging wire through the broken trim. That's mint fa show!

Thanks!

And the damn charger broke the bezel, I've just been too lazy to fix it.

Gotta hate when stuff like that happens. Are you just using one of those sucker window phone holder thingys?

My bezel is about as strong as a potato chip. Last time I held it in my hand a nice half moon broke off it Almost time for another order to LMC Truck.

I sure am!  It's holding surprisingly well for something that says AutoCraft on it

Ok @jlbayes.  Another turbo question for you.  I found a complete Crazy Carl's compound pipe set for $460 (Tyler is currently holding it hostage).  Now I'm looking at primary turbos.  Currently planning on running a box 475, but thinking about getting a 1.15 a/r housing to help low end since I'm planning on keeping the 7x0.0095 injectors for a while.  Thoughts?

It's already too late for me Nick... Oh, and I've been fully infected with Tyler's Curse, and it can and does extend to other vehicles...  A buddy and I drove his new F150 from NJ to CO this weekend and as soon as I started driving the CEL came on.  This is a 2015 truck with 28,xxx miles on it btw....
