Has anyone tried adapting the 3rd/4th gen Mopar HD steering box to a 2nd gen?

I haven't personally tried it but have heard mounting is different and will not work without major modification to the 2nd gen.

What is this you speak of?

It's done by tapping your box & running lines to a ram hooked to your steering linkage. It's called the west Texas mod.

I put a steering box on my truck from a similar year chebby. Direct bolt on everything. Nice and tight and no leaks. Cost 50 bucks from the local truck salvage.
