Did you burn...................or have you burned, in case you're still burning to heat your home this Winter/Spring???

 

For me, I'm probably just under 3 full cords of wood.  I was burning much higher BTU rated wood this Winter vs. last Winter, and that made a HUGE difference in my wood consumption when compared to last year.  My "ranch style" house is not very good at being a good candidate for a wood stove.....................but I make it work.

 Not much of a winter here even for So. California standers. We burned about 1 cord of mix pine and eucalyptus for the whole winter. I sold 2 half cords of eucalyptus because I had so much leftover and more to split.

It's been unusually warm in Oregon this year. Many of the locals talk about not much winter weather.

 

I burned no more than 3/4 ths of a cord so far.

About 4 cord between the house and garage. Mostly oak, maple , and ash Cold winter this year in PA.

Since December 8th, when we bough the house, we have used about 1.75 tons of pellets which is about 2 chords worth of BTUs.

Maybe burned a cord and a half at most, wasn't too bad of a winter and only fire up the stove when temps get to about 10* or colder otherwise it heats up the house too much for comfort "small house with good circulation".

In previous winters in Connecticut, we would burn 5-7 cord. We would keep that thing burning 24/7, that also included using the fireplace on the weekends for the ambiance. Lot of maple, oaks and cherry. This winter I lived in Ohio with no wood stove...

As of right now I'm at 7 cords of wood consumed. Still burning wood every day yet. Start burning typically in October and burn till almost June usually.

 

No backup furnace or automatic heat... All heat is from firewood. I'm not like most that set a thermostat and walk away during the day and then build a fire at night when they get home. So the electric furnace or propane furnace is going mos of the day and then burning only a small 2-3 cords a season.

Just loaded the stove this morning. I'll be at 5 cord if this winter keeps hanging on.

Mike just about roasted me out every time I'd go in for coffee  . Even the coffee stayed hot. he he, but the folks around there are even warmer still.

I cut wood for my grandparents who insist on keeping their home a constant 80*+. My grandfather walks around in his baggy briefs, its a crap shoot whether or not a free peep show is included.

 

I estimate about 3 cords, but they also have a coal stove to supplement with.

almost 3 here, we only heat with wood as well, and we even cook on it. i sure can't afford the electric bill if i plugged in a heater. we have a forced air furnace, but i'm not sure it works. i've never plugged it in.
