Goose Neck Hitch
I say B&W. They are awesome and can take some serious abuse. Plus when not in use, just turn it over and the bed is nice and flat! With the ball out: No bed:

Swap Autometer gauges for Glow Shift ones???
Fuel pressure is a little high. Suppose to be under 20 psi to prevent damage to the diaphragm inside the VP. I know there are some that will argue, but most should agree.

Swap Autometer gauges for Glow Shift ones???
I'm sure it happens every now and then. But you have no idea how old it is either. Mine went bad too but has worked like a charm since I replaced it over a year ago!

Swap Autometer gauges for Glow Shift ones???
That's interesting b/c my AMs work really well and I've got no clue how old the the boost and fuel psi are, but I replaced the pyrometer right after I bought the truck so it is like 15 months old. It has worked well the entire time. I've got a friend that is interested in the GS so I'll probably just sell them to him... if he comes up with the

exhaust brake
Yeah I was turned onto them by a friend that lives out in Nevada, Howie. He seemed to really like it and says it works pretty well. For the most part, most of us are a little anit-Banks b/c most of his stuff is overpriced due to his name....

Turbo Bolts Question
Well for the last 5 months and 7000 miles my turbo has been held on by two grade 5 bolts and two studs. So far it hasn't fell off and the last I knew, I bolts were still there. Not to say they won't break down the road, just telling my experience.

Resetting speedometer with Smarty?
Yeah I might have to do that. I was told TS or BD makes a speedometer calibrater, I just haven't checked into yet.... I just don't want to spend a lot of money on it!
-
Resetting speedometer with Smarty?
So what you're saying is I won't be able to re-calibrate the speedometer without the Smarty tune?

Gasser vs. Diesel
I think that is the primary reason most of us drive a diesel, it just pulls better!
-
Gasser vs. Diesel
Well yeah the CR is a little more, but no glow plugs and 2 less injectors. Plus b/c it is easier to work on, it takes less time therefore costing the customer less money in hours.

Gasser vs. Diesel
Cheapest in comparison to other diesels sir. Comparing apples or apples! But if you don't like your Cummins, sale it and go about your way. You get many cattle trucks down there? I suppose you do. I would much prefer to haul hay with a diesel compared to a gasser. Up hills the gasser isn't much fun loaded to the brim with cattle, tools, feed, help, ect.
-
Gasser vs. Diesel
Could that also be because they are more Cummins on the road that gassers?? Or maybe because the guys with the Cummins trucks use them as a truck, unlike the guys with the gassers? I do ask why. I've had to work on a lot of trucks out here, farm/ cattle trucks and the Cummins is the easiest/ cheapest to work on. They are also some of the hardest worked trucks too. I've had to work on a lot of gasser trucks as well, new and old. I'll stick with the Cummins for me but I've got all sorts of cars/ trucks so I'm not just a "Cummins" only person.

Gasser vs. Diesel
Whys that? You guys are trying to justify one over the other and that's something I don't need to do.

New tires!!!
Just for an update: I've got about 1600 miles on them so far and really like them. I get compliments on them all the time!! I think I do need to take them back in and have the balance checked as I get a bit of rough riding above 65 mph. He said they might just need to rebalance a couple of them.

new dash?
I guess a dealer, but that isn't going to be cheap. I've heard something about if you go in there, they will replace it for like $250. Don't know if that is true or not though??

Cummins Reman
I would just try to find a solid used engine with low miles. Anything with 100k or less is just about brand new. Or just have yours rebuilt if you feel it needs it.

Removing tailgate handle?
Yeah, sad but true.
-
Gasser vs. Diesel
Oh no, I plan to tap the pump..... Just have to keep it way down until I add more air. Like twins!!!!
-
Oil Pressure Guage
Didn't think of that, I guess they make it small enough?
-
Removing tailgate handle?
No I'm not too worried at home but in town like after I pick it up and need to go into the store where I can't watch the truck. Been a few times, that I've had to find a tree to back up to and sometimes that's easier said than done. For the most part I wouldn't have a problem, but with the economy like it is these days, people are getting more willing to do anything.
-
Gasser vs. Diesel
I will once the warranty is off!! And I'm sure than I could get some temps unless I add some more air as I have even more fuel than you with my 150s!!!
-
Removing tailgate handle?
Yeah that would keep them from stealing the tailgate, but there are times when I have something in the back, like a washer, that would be nice to keep someone from lowering the tailgate and helping me unload it!!
-
Oil Pressure Guage
That's a good idea. The '64 broke right where it goes into the fitting. Wasn't a big deal, just had to cap it off before we could drive it home! I hate deer.
-
Gasser vs. Diesel
Good grief Mike, that's some temp!! At most I'll see 1200* but that's rare. When I stand into it, the turbo lights quicker and keeps my temps down!! And yeah I'm sticking with my Cummins, you guys have fun with the gas vs. diesel deal. It's one of those things if you have to ask why, then you don't get it!!

Oil Pressure Guage
Don't know about the copper and diesel part, but the only thing about nylon line is if you break the line inside the cab, hot oil all over the place!!!! But on the '64 Ford it had a nylon oil pressure line on it for years and until it got hit by a deer (broke the line), it worked fine.
