  1. Mine have like 52 psi in the front and 50 in the rear if I remember correctly. Mine are 315s and E range.
  2. Okay guys my next purchase are going to be batteries.... Exciting I know but they are getting weak enough that if I don't have the truck plugged in, the grids pull them down too much and the starter won't spin fast enough to start the truck... Had this happen to me the other day which sucked b/c the folks and I were going to go into town to shop/eat. My question is, what do you guys recommend for batteries? I've had decent luck with Die Hards but I'm not 100% sold on them in my '75 Chevy. I'm thinking about Autozone Duralast Gold top b/c they are well priced and easy to get. Plus they've got a good warranty and I've had great luck with them in my '71 VW and one of the Cummins's batteries is one and is 4.5 yrs old. But also kicking around Interstate, Harvest King (Atwoods), and any other place. What do you guys think?:shrug:I've also thought about Optimas but they are so expensive and I've been told they aren't as good as they used to be b/c the plant moved or something.... was told that by the owner of Barry's Diesel Service in Winfield... He seems like a good guy, but never really dealt with him other than when I've bought some silicone heater hose and a piece of 4" exhaust pipe... I do know they are just down right expensive and I'm a poor, almost jobless, college student...:duh:Thanks,Winslow
  3. I've never put one in but knew a rancher with one that the shop I worked for installed and my old boss said it wasn't hard to do. Pretty handy to have I think, I'd like to have one so I would have 2L for trailers and such.
  4. I would go with a set of 100-150s from Dieselautopower.com (DDPs are way too expensive imo), a BHAF, a Tunnel Ram, and maybe a Pusher Intake just for good measure. What do you have for a turbo? And what do you use your truck for?
  5. Well as an update while driving back into town for my afternoon class, I tried kicking it into 4wd at 45-55 mph and it did fine. I kicked it in and out about 2 or 3 times in different places and it worked great!! Much nicer knowing that I can do with without any strange noises or anything!!:thumb1:And white, I do the same thing, every once and while I'll kick it into 4 hi and 4 lo just to keep everything working well. Sometimes I'll just kick it into 4 lo pulling into the yard just to do it. Plus it makes backing a trailer a lot easier!!
  6. I gotcha, I've kinda worked on them but not too much. So it sound like I can flip it in and out of 4wd at just about any speed (within reason) as long as I'm off the throttle, correct?
  7. Yeah I wasn't so worried about the transfer case as I've helped rebuild about three or four of them and don't see a problem with it. It is the front axle I was more worried about. I'll check out that other thread in a minute. Thanks guys!!
  8. What's up gang? I've got a simple question for you. What is the maximum reccomended speed for shifting in and out of 4wd? We recently got snow here and some of the roads are covered and some are dry so it's kinda a pita to stop and shift in and out as needed.
  9. That is pretty neat. I really like their 2 gauge pod. I might go something like that. Just got to figure out what else I want to monitor... Maybe a trans temp? Wonder what else would be good to monitor....http://www.puredieselpower.com/catalog/19982007-dodge-ram-gauge-windshield-above-mirror-mount-p-1359.html
