  1. Yeah I've heard of a lot of guys running it. We used to put it in a lot of the farm tractors I worked on. Just depended on what the customer wanted to use. As far as I know, it's good oil!
  2. Oh I guess I was thinking these mounted on the top.... well heck.... but for the price I might try them.
  3. Gang, I got to looking up latter and traction bars and came across these: http://www.tuffcountry.com/miscellaneous/traction-bars.html I was wondering is anyone is running a set and if they do anything?? I like the idea of them not hanging down below the frame and they are pretty cheap. I don't plan to race/pull on a daily basis, I just want to help with the hop when I play around every now and then. Also might help when pulling trailer? Any feedback would be great!! Thanks, Winslow
  4. I haven't. I kinda looked at it the other day just haven't done anything to it yet. The pins don't seem to be loose, I tried to move it up and down and it seems to be okay. I'm wondering if I'm just going to need new weatherstripping...... Too bad that has to cost money!
  5. Never thought about the water leaking deal. As far as tweaking the doors, that's one thing I worry about is breaking the door. I thought I might look at it and maybe do the adjustment on the hinges first. I've never looked too close at them for any type of adjustment, do they just have bolts you loosen or what?
  6. Yeah it's really bad in mine, drives me nuts. I understand in the wind I might have a little, but this seems excessive. So here are my options: 1. Try to tweak the top of the door or try to find a body shop to do it (not my fav. idea ). 2. New seals from LMC which isn't real cheap. 3. Try to adjust my top door hinge some or maybe replace the pins? That's what I have so far. I think I'll start with #1, then move to #3 and save #2 as a last resort b/c it cost money!! Thanks everyone, I'll give it a try when the wind stops blowing 30 mph from the north and 30* outside.
  7. Thanks everyone. I'll give it all a try. I've thought about the tweaking deal as that kinda acts like what it needs. Also thinking about the pin deal. I'll check out the adjustment. Might have to buy some new seals to as this is really bugging me with the strong winds!!
  8. Well the seals look good. What I've noticed is like the top of the door doesn't close as tight as it needs to to seal. Now with that said, the seals could be flatten too much and not sealing like they should. I can take my hand and squeeze the door a little and the noise will stop. It does it on both doors too.
  9. Hey gang,I've got a question. Is there a professional way to seal up the lovely wind noise from the top of the doors? The pins look like they are okay but I've never changed them with 235k on the truck. I've thought about getting some foam weather stripping from the hardware store and sticking that on there, but wanted to see if there was something I'm missing.:shrug:Thanks,Winslow
  10. Better make sure you use a reversible one!!
  11. I know he doesn't. We are going to install a needle valve to act like a snubber as on mine mechanical gauge. Thanks for the information though!!
  12. Yeah I think the mechanical part might be rebuildable, but the computer has to be calibrated to the pump so if it fails, your dead. That's my thinking at least and since both times when my VP died it was the computer, I think that's the most common problem.
  13. Other than just being hard to reach, they aren't too bad. On number 6 I just use my shorty wrench. It's the front ones that are a little bit of a pain b/c my Tunnel Ram makes for a little less room to turn the wrench. Just takes a little longer and you have to flip the wrench on every turn!!
  14. I would say the dealer would be your best bet. Welcome and good luck to you!!
  15. Yeah I just tighten them until they feel tight. Sometimes one or two will need a little more, but usually I get it the first time. I've never used a crowfoot to tighten them, just a 19 mm wrench. As far as temps go, I don't really have a problem with my pump untapped. I could see if you were towing a lot they would probably warm up pretty good so more air is certainly needed. I'm going to be tapping my pump after Dec. 14th so I'll keep everyone updated on how warm it gets then! If you need any help or pictures on installing the injectors, just let me know. I've got a full write up on CF and can post up some pictures on here if need be.
  16. Yeah he grounded it to the negative side of the battery. I'm assuming he got the wires hooked up to their proper places but I've not looked at it myself. We are going to try to look at it tomorrow and I'll check it out.
  17. Yeah like how much do you reckon? --- Update to the previous post... Came up with an idea to test it. He needs to install a needle valve anyway so we are going to do that, then I can shut it off and see what the gauge reads. If it doesn't change then we know the sender is acting up. If it drops, then we know it is okay. Sounds good uh?
  18. Yeah I wish I had a test gauge to use against it.
  19. Yeah me too!! I wish there was a way to test the sender......
  20. Umm... not sure. Haven't tried it. I'll tell him to try that when he gets a chance.
  21. Hey gang, Okay a friend of mine just installed a set of used GS gauges I got in on a trade. He has the wires all hooked up and such, grounded to the battery and all. Well his fuel pressure gauge isn't working quite right. When he turns the key on, the other gauges sweep over and back down to zero. Well the FP sweeps up to 30 psi and stays there. Then when he starts the truck it drops to about 26ish psi, then once the truck starts, it goes up to about 33 psi which is the end of the gauge. My question is this: This there a way to test the sensor without just replacing it?? Fuel pressure doesn't drop with heavy throttle either and the truck doesn't appear to have any after market lift pump. I haven't looked at the truck in person, just over phone calls and text. Any ideas would be great!! Here is the gauge: http://www.glowshiftdirect.com/black-7-color-30psi-fuel-pressure-gauge.aspx Thanks, Winslow
  22. As a cheap option you could put a hybrid HX-35/40 from DAP. They are #325 and it would probably help you up a lot from the HY.
  23. Cool deal man, I helped do one of these a long time ago. Nice instructions!!
