It's really handy when the temps are in the single digits and you don't want to wait hours for the engine to warm up. Don't you have yours hooked up?

They do look good even though you lose a little in the MPG department. Once I get my speedo reset, I will be able to tell exactly how much I lost on a daily record. Just got to find a Smarty now!

Yeah that's just my average, mostly highway. Right now I haven't been getting quite that b/c of the winter blend and the use of 4wd... and the skinny pedal in the snow..... And that's driving about 60-65, sometimes up into 70, just depends where I'm at.

A lot of guys clamp HX-35 gates shut making for about the same thing. The biggest thing it to not have enough fuel that it will overspool. Personally I wouldn't run something ungated even though mine was like that for I don't know how long due to the previous owner. Never had any problems with the pump untapped with the 150s, or with the Comp tapped before the 150s.

Come on man, stick with the 315s!!:lmao:You might give Kisler Tires in Udall a call. I know it is a little ways to go but Gary is great to deal with and can get you all sorts of tires.

I will say this, when I had the Smarty in mine for a little while, I set it do the TM was practically off.... Beastly is all I will say!!!!:drool:

Yep White01 tried to flash mine but when he pulled the tune out, so did the recalibration... So mine is off too. I average somewhere in the mid to upper 16s with the 315s, recorrected for the size. I would love to get my speedo reflashed but I worry about the cost too. Might have to check into it, it would be nice to know how fast/far I really am going. I do know that I lost about a mile on my trip to school everyday after the tires... I don't think the road got any shorter either!! It would be awesome to have my own Smarty but I just don't have the money for it right now and really don't have the air for the extra fuel either!! Back when I had the 285s on it, I averaged 17.8-18 driving mostly highway and better than that on long trips to Tulsa or Lawrence.

Yeah you will get some funny looks from people if you kick it on in public, like at the college with all the city kids around!!!!! Yeah the 2003+ CR don't have 3 cylinder high idle, that's only 98.5-02 VP trucks!!!!

That's pretty common for a lot of guys to do in search of more power than what the HO pump can put out.

Sounds like you had quite the adventure!! As for the high idle, it won't kick until it is even colder outside unless you have a fooler system to allow you to have full control of the high idle. Let me know if I can help you out.

Yeah the little drums are so cute!! But as for them freezing, that's fairly common. Water gets in there and freezes up over night. One thing that seems to help is not have the brake set real tight. My VWs used to do that a lot and sometimes my Mom's Mazda does it. My Cummins hasn't done it too much, just a little the other day. A little movement up and back and they unfroze. Now I remember now to tighten it anymore than I have to.

It might not hurt to ask a window/ body shop and see what they say. Wouldn't hurt and might save you a lot of trouble.

I run Fierce Attitude 315/75R16 rubber on mine. I really like them, quite on the highway, look wicked, and grip like crazy on the snow!!!

Yeah probably a scrap yard or just buy something cheap from the aftermarket. The sound quality will be much better and it looks better too!!!
